Yes, two posts in one day, sorry. But this made me happy. And sharing happiness is never wrong... Wish they all came home and were free and in peace and had theirs and join EU.

On The Chase...
... hopefully... and very soon... of... oh, very sad. I found a video on FB, a Ukrainian soldier with a sunflower that grows and blends into a whole field. A sign of hope.
Not allowed to embed.
OK, no sunflower with a soldier then.
Instead let us go with respect this way:
Oh, I owe you this, too!
Saw it the first time in 2006 - it was meant to be "temporary".
I hope the war is temporary...
This is for Tom´s Signs2.
And weeeee... March´s up! And I am no April-joke - ESE still looks for work for me...
Anyhows, here goes:
Happy April everyone!
... soon!

Different Signs
I´d like to bend the meme a bit, if that´s OK... But I was all in awe about this Sign Of A Creative Mind, look:
Wouldn´t you treasure this, from the idea to the outcome?
Here is another:
...of Brotherhood. They speak more or less the same language with different accents - they have family in both places and if media wasn´t so false in Russia... This woman is not dumb and no one goes against her because deep down "the Russians" feel the same.
How I know?
From a Ukrainian customer and from friend fK who learned Russian in former GDR and can easily translate Ukrainian for me.
This is for Tom´s Signs2... To peace...
The internet-series:
(I´ve
learned that some of you think these are my words, my opinion, but it
is from the internet and I think it´s interesting. so I share.
All orange text is links, you can click on it for more info, but now, here goes)
"33 retro dishes that are rarely served today
Simple but delicious! Peach Melba, a mix of peach pieces, ice cream and tart raspberry sauce, was created in London's Savoy Hotel at the end of the 19th century and was extremely popular all over the world in the 20th century. Today, the sundae is much less common on dessert menus. But thanks to its versatile flavors and bright colors, a comeback cannot be ruled out."
Sounds too sweet - something for you?

I am Waiting!
8C, 46F, that is not my idea of Spring!
In the next shop I spotted even this:
If I was younger and out and about I´d buy that dress, so fancy!!!!
"Endless Summer"... I´d be the happiest person around!
I am so sick of freezing.
I know, things could be worse, just look at....
Men in the 1960s grew their hair long."
Well, that was still the case in the 70´s! Ingo was one of the first with short hair.
The classroom-door flew open once, he told me, and a pupil was yelling, "there he is!!!".
But then, Ingo was also the one knitting in class, cause the girls were allowed to! A little rebel he was.

BB To Be
Likely I won´t order online, it´s but 7 minutes on foot! Not the cheapest, but look at their menu!
They also have vegan and chicken, so the name...
... not thought through, really...
Soon I´ll get one! This is for Tom´s Signs2.
A very, very sad and expensive sign - in the monetary as well as humanitary sense:
The series:
"Not just cars: these things were invented in Germany
The MP3 format was developed in 1982 under the direction of Hans-Georg Musmann at the Fraunhofer Institute. It is a process for compressing digitally stored audio data. Today, there are a number of further developed formats that are based on the MP3 format."

OK, soon!Wish me luck!!!

T STands For Good Week
A "shot" from happy times when work-life was buzzing.
Some bitter-sweet memory to join Elizabeth´s T. But life ain´t that bad atm.
The journal:
Monday: ... started with a huge surprise! My new teacher let me know I Idid a great job :-) She is happy with me, and "astonished". Maybe she thinks I am 20? Either way: I am motivated!
It was very tough stuff again, though, and I was too tired for the walking pad.
Quick dash to REWE (supermarket) - "cute bonnet!", I was shouted at. From a man, too 🧡
The little joys of the dark time of the year, aka winter.
Tuesday: Sunny, but -2C / 28F. Went to my Greek doc who was freezing, too.
But, oh, the sunshine, soooo wonderful. Treated myself with a croissant. Couldn´t eat it all.
HAAA!!!! Last year I went to ALDI in Madeley/Perth and got myself some self-raising flour.
And finally I found something quick and easy, the hearty one it will be, thank you, Jamie:
"President Donald Trump has halted all military aid to Ukraine, following recent clashes with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. The pause will last until President Trump decides Zelenskyy is committed to peace"? Commited to strip would rather name it... (source)
In Germany a single person, not even the chancellor, can NOT make a decision by himself. We call that democracy...
I keep these "infos" just for being able to eventually follow how this darn war evolved- to not forget who stood together for help... and those "leaders" (not the people!!!) who do not.
FB shows many American cities with the Ukrainian flag (should´ve copied some in!!!!).
Wednesday: Tough studies. To 3a I got: "perfect" - this motivates! This and that - thanks to Ingo - I have OpenOffice´s follower and can create .docx-files!
For weeks I blamed neighbor above for the noise of a clock ringing for 5 minutes.
Today the darn thing got off as I wanted to make tea.
Ingo´s room. As I can´t hear much anymore on right ear it took me a whole minute to locate the "clock". Can you imagine how helpless one feels? WHERE does that noise come from?! I know things could be worse but this is not nice.
Glad I didn´t tell off the neighbor...
Thursday: Forms, forms, forms to get money from the job-agency soon... They want proof from Brunel (2021-2022). This is Germany. Work hard, get tortured. Walk in illegally, get money. To top it: Taxes-lady called, something went wrong, have to look into that.
But, studies: Chunk 1 is on green (passed), phew. Chunk 2 was but for myself, Chunk 3 I´m at.
"The
US has cut off intelligence-sharing with Kyiv in a move that could
seriously hamper the Ukrainian military’s ability to target Russian
forces." On and on it goes...
Baby Musk takes STARLINK from Ukraine away. Let´s hope European EUTELSAT can make up.
Friday: Chunk 3: 1-4 (of 6) passed.
Supernice the new teacher is. "Sadly" teams took not my cam but the TV-source - she laughed her head off! She told me to work: LESS! To not take it that serious. Hm...?
And, weeeee....
Said good-bye to Lucy... and welcomed ONCE upon a time. Well... Miss Lucy.
Weekend: Saturday: Cold, but the sun was out and about so I went to the city aaaaand....
Buona giorno .... first...
...2025! Counts as munchy.
The dude just came back from Italy (in winter they are closed and go home) so his German was still a bit rusty and hence he spoke Italian - love that language 🥰.
Ingo found green peppers and... yum to see on Thursday. Will last a looong time.
Ingo also got "Night at the Museum", I knew 1+2 and started with that... Rexi! 😘
"Curse of the Fly" I had to let go of. Boooooring.
Sunday: Docu on "hochdeutsch" (what we speak, high-German). Am I glad I just grew up with this! How people from Bavaria, Saxony and Co learn this. If they want to!
Oh so often I sat there clueless. They used fingers and toilet paper-rolls to "get" it.
Wurscht > Wurst. Ons, zwo, dro > eins, zwei, drei.
"Night at The Museum" #2: "We´re Americans - we don´t plan, we DO!!!"
Yes!!! Stupid German plans and does nothing...

Help Is On The Way!
Ingo found these stories with the very helpful Japp-man.
Japp is the Norwegian version of our Mars-bar (here you find more about sweets from that country). It´s clichée, but, oh, come on...
From times when commercials were still fun(ny)!
Hilarious, don´t you think?
If you´re having a bad day, I hope this cheered you up.
And whilst we´re at funny non-English ads...
FB-find:
"With the US halting intelligence sharing on Ukraine, France is ready to step in. Paris will provide Kyiv with its own intelligence — French Defense Minister Lecornu"
Source: Kyiv Post.
Addendum, also by Kyiv Post:
"Friedrich Merz, the projected next chancellor, plans to allocate an additional €3 billion in aid to Ukraine, which had been frozen by Scholz — Le Monde"
"Funny" how it all seems to come together. Or scary!!! A good scary!
"Asked if Canada could offer troops to any peacekeeping force in Ukraine, Trudeau says:
“Canada has looked at the ways it can best help and everything’s on the table… Canada will be there and is open to doing what is necessary.” - I hope these all are TRUE.
The series... a fun-flashback (OK, I prepared this post long ago and then found other things to share - and now it so fits with the Japp-HELPING)!
"The tastiest dishes with the funniest names
"Hushpuppy
A
hushpuppy is a savory, deep-fried ball made from cornmeal batter. The
name comes from US southerners who fried the dough and fed it to dogs to
"shut the puppies up."
Reckon I´d rather go for Japp!

The Singing, Ringing Tree
I´d like to go to Burnley on a windy day!
Wiki says: "The Singing Ringing Tree is a wind powered sound sculpture resembling a tree set in the landscape of the Pennine hill range overlooking Burnley, in Lancashire, England..."
Just listen (not only hear):
Dad´d turn 87 today.
Only 6 more years to go...
And for ...
Eileen...
We visited those cute animals in 2019.
Never too hot for me 🥰
Too hot for some, maybe, on a different level, though... found at FB yesterday:
Source.
"We are partners. We are very close partners. We have to be fair. We have to be very free," said Zelenskyy, sounding far more like an American president than Donald Trump did today.
This is an astonishing display of statesmanship. Rather than give into ego or pettiness, Zelenskyy is rising above Donald Trump's childish bullying to serve his people.
Zelenskyy isn't interested in following Trump down into the gutter. He's interested in securing a lasting peace for his innocent embattled country, a task made all the more difficult by Trump's kowtowing to Vladimir Putin.
Zelenskyy is also correct that these conversations should take place behind closed doors instead of being exploited to create a media circus. Trump and Vance ambushed him in the Oval Office in front of reporters because they knew that it would make headlines and entertain their base.
They are not serious leaders. Zelenskyy is."
The series:
"Not just cars: these things were invented in Germany
In 1897, Karl Ferdinand Braun built the first cathode ray tube (CRT) and the cathode ray tube oscilloscope, which became the cornerstone in the development of fully electronic television. To this day, the CRT is called the 'Braun tube'."
