Good Morning Braunschweig

Saturday we gave it a go - literally, for the first time in six weeks I went to the city.
Just not in the morning but in the afternoon.
It took like forever and my foot sure did hurt, but it was worth it!

Our neighbour in the next street had again planted flowers, which, as Ingo thinks, is actually not allowed:

Isn´t it beautiful? Spring sure is on the way!
At Gauss-bridge we saw some new love-locks, admittedly nicer than ours:

Sadly the dark half of the year also destroys a lot, it seems...

I just wonder why the person not simply takes the lock off - lost the key?

This hat must´ve gotton lost at the carnival...

Love how this guy streches out on this bench reading a book in Löbbeckes Insel.

Students discussing...

And I smelled a BBQ, too.

Yes, spring clearly is on the way!

Ingo was happy I could join in again :-)

Guess he had a hard time walking so slow, though...
So I asked to buy something we forgot for dinner alone. And took this odd pic, waiting for him:

Here you see St Andreas in the background:

Oh, how I missed it all!

On they way I was able to take this pic of two "sad" people from Frankfurt who failed to attract attention with their car - certainly this Rolls Royce was the "cooler" one!

No, really, huh?

Another admirer:

Certainly we had to visit Henry - Ingo took this shot of our shadows:

But I prefered what was happening in the background: People posing with Henry :-)

From there we went to Schadt´s...

One of the waitresses even hugged me - Braunschweig is a village after all :-)

Amongst other I bought these muffin-forms, so cooking will start soon with "cooked with love"!

Hehe, Australians don´t say cheese, they say:

Ok, I know, it´s written Coon, but it´s pronounced the same.
Hm. Miss that, too. (Their story here.)

Well, guess if I can work the clutch - will try when Ingo is back from work with my car - I´ll start working tomorrow.
Sad thing is... I´m absolutely demotivated, for the first time.
If I´d played and win the lotto big... guess I´d only work three days a week. One could really get used to staying home...

Happy…

Usually there are no pressies for birthdays or Christmas between the two of us – when we see something the other might like, we buy it just like that.
I like it better that way, it shows you care all year round, no?

But this time I had to make it different.
About over half a year ago (or longer?) I found Red´s “Amazing Aussie Loos With Awesome Scenic Views”-Calendar, which you can personalize.
Aussie Loos we´ve seen a lot – so that´s the perfect pressie, huh?

Three months ago it arrived, my, I really had a very hard time to keep it a secret!
Ingo´s birthday is at the end of September, so I gave it to him yesterday, nothing else makes sense and it´s no birthday-pressie that way, either, right?

Funny how things always mend.
Saturday was a perfect last summer-day and hence we went to Schadt´s.
And what landed right in front of me?
Maybe you´ve read my post about Broome, about how I love the movie Forrest Gump since then.
Well. The best loo is this I never went to but have seen so often:
Yes, that´s Sun Pictures!

Well, Ingo was quite impressed and happy with the pressie.
And then I remembered mine I got from Mandi – it´s September, time to turn a page!
This is Kings Park.
This is the place I have to ask for permission – we´d love to place something there, maybe at DNA-tower?
Can you guess what´s on the other side?
Right…
We´re some sentimental guys, huh?
And till then it sits right beside Heinrich, whilst it´s pendant hangs at Gauss-bridge.
Life is funny. All things fit together!

And to top it all we went to “see” our first game of soccer, team leader invited us over.
Well, we were the only ones who came over and sadly found no interest at all in that game. We had fun chatting, though, and come another game of football, team leader said, he´ll give it a go.
I only hope he behaves better than we did and we can watch the game ;-)
Cause footy, we love!

Sadly it has cooled down to 15C, rainy.
Maybe we should´ve waited with opening the season culinary:
But it was sooooo yum!

Happy Monday :-)

Aaaand Action!

Yep. Me. Holding a brolly there, btw... whilst climbing.

But first things first: Spring arrived!
So, you guessed it... instead of running, we went to the city.

This first time, though, it wasn´t just going to the city, oh, no, I had to take the navi.
I´m a woman, the only way to get where I want to?
Ha, no ;-)

But I had to follow the navi to get something back.

On the way we met Pippilotta:
Well, ot rather the graffiti, no idea if that shop still exists, or where.
And finally, after a stop at Schadt´s, (funny thing, btw, when you just hear that word it sounds like what many (too many) people call each other, Schatz (honey)), well after that....
Yep, that was fun (awww, here you see how much fun I had - anyone an idea how to really find fun in this? I want to, for Ingo!)...
I brought it back:
What do you think how long it´ll stay there???
Are you into Geo-caching? Teach me how to have fun doing it?
Guess I´ll just have to do it, right?

On another note: I switched from winter- to summer clothes!
And I threw so much away.
Have you read the book The Happiness Project? One of the best books I ever read.
Still working on it, guess it´s a lifetime-project.
And one thing is: Throw out what you don´t wear anymore.
I threw out what became two rather big bags to give away.
Some stuff turned too old (skirts I had for over 10 years! No wonder the color had faded?) And also...
Skirts I thought...

... too short for your age.

Bummer, huh?

It felt good, though. Why keep stuff you don´t wear anymore anyway. Ok, I kept two or three pieces just cause of good memories.
Or (not so) funny ones like when we very spontaneously in Wilhelmshaven went to see a submarine.
Did I mention it was spontaneous?
I was wearing a short, red skirt.
Bad combination.
Ingo literally had to push away that old man who wanted... well steep stairs, right?
I have no idea what he thought what´s there to see anyways, I wore undies. And naively climed up.
Can´t throw away that skirt.

But the rest... out!
Now: Spring, summer: Come over here!
