Perth 21/02 – Ants Haunting / In Fermentation, There is Truth. And Pigs Can Fly

Freo it was again today and sure as hell we ended up at Wendy Binks again.

I got another item guess you´re supposed to put a glass on it or such, way too precious for my liking, though.

H „made“ me touch a Koala-bear in Caversham Wildlife Park last time we´ve been here, and my... whilst everyone squeezed the poor little fella I touched him gently. So soft.
So rich. So.. oily? I dunno, his fur was beautiful might just say it.

Anyhows...Wendy´s partner, Paul Mosa, made Koalas and also one with ants.
Guess nearly anyone had had this ants-experience?

My Bro certainly sat in the tiny German ones, crying, being about 1 ½ years old.

Me? 24. Grace? Aww, well, we were adults and made the same mistake as ??-y-o, but here in Australia, go figure, we sure can laugh about ourselves and hence the ants it had to be, twice.
Happy yucky-outch!

Very "cool" is this solar-operated water-vending machine - with music!
But actually you can get drinking water for free here and there in Perth/Freo. I know of exactly one place in Braunschweig...

This is one number-plate... just like the ones here in Germany where most Audi TT-drivers need to have "TT" in their number plate!

Yes, it´s a Volkswagen Transporter, wo-hoo...
This one sure is more "funny":

And this one truly makes clear who´s saying what you do!

I just love the harbor!

Sadly (?) Ingo did not dare to try fish & chips, because... oil.... pancreas...

Instead we marched a bit near the water, awww, I so love the ocean!

I then spotted another Grill`d... oh, come on, we´re on holidays, right?

Funny enough... we got No 18 again!

Yum!!!

Later we went to Sail & Anchor, not even knowing it´s "an iconic Fremantle landmark" and "heritage listed pub" where they say, "In Fermentation, There is Truth." - Funny, no?

See one happy Ingo here :-)

And here is the proof to the Simpson´s are right:

On the way back Kakulas Sisters were open!

After we´d visited the Brothers we had to go in here, too :-)

A last number-plate-pic for today:

And then we left Freo for the day - Way Out!

In Perth at Australian Geographic Ingo had to fight a croc...

... and played Moustache.

Pigs can fly, huh?

Perth 20/02 - Hans Im Glück And Local Matters

Yesterday we went to Joondalup and there ended up at... Grill`d, hmmm, we were a hungry No 18!

The title? When I told my cutomer E (woman! Yes, I am not the only one at work!) about Grill´d she smiled big and said, yes, actually "we" do have something like that, too, Hans Im Glück, Hans being lucky. Well, they offer fresh quality-products, but I couldn´t find anything about the helping locals idea!

So... since none is near Braunschweig anyway I´m happy we went to Grill´d.

I know you all know the concept and E does not read here, still I want to show the concept (Ingo is the only German reading along, it´s kinda "embarrassing" showing the blog to anyone here. Certainly FB shows my posts, and there are 2 German fellows, but I recon they think, too, this is too weird.).

You should get a pouch with a token with each meal (not the case every time!):

Inside you find said token with which you can support one of three local community groups per month:

It´s reused often, too :-) And yes, I admit... I took one home to show around!

You can read about the monthly projects:

And in case you cannot handle what you ordered...

You can take a knife!

Don´t try this concept over here! It is amazing and refreshing to see that those knives are not being stolen!
They are good quality, I guess.
And no, even though Grill´d isn´t a cheapy and even though you support your city - that would not keep people here from taking those knives, aka steal them, I am pretty sure of that.

We never needed one, because we always ask the staff to cut them in halfes since we share one (Blog-title, huh?!):

And we always got two Grill´d wooden... what are they, gigantic tooth-picks? Reminds me of "our" waitress at Schadt´s who brings two halfes of a currywurst on two plates.

As I sit here at my PC, two big, comfy monitors, outside it´s cold, grey, rainy... I drool about those burgers. And the concept, it´s a great one. It´s an Aussie one.

Perth, 19/02 – Gone With The Wind – No-No... time? And An Aussie Loo

One day... hopefully soon, I´d like to have that number-plate and live it!

Today we went to Little Creatures in Freo – with Grace and Pat again, thanks so much!

Here we have the proof the lady that liked my bag so much but said the carousel is no more was wrong!

We first got to see the artists´place where Grace got our wedding-pressie from..., Stunned Emu dangerous! You can leave heaps of your money there, so many beautiful pieces to find!!!!
Such talented guys over there!

So many murals on the way again!

I have to sneak in a story here, it was 1999, I was the driver of our very beautiful Nissan Partrol LWB.
A Dad-emu crossed the gravel road, followed by two kids, I stopped the car just in time.
The very moment I wanted to drive on a third baby-emu dashed behind the others, saw me (or rather the huge car) and fell on his little butt which made a truly high amount of dust popping up!
I still have to grin, remembering this.

So... getting shown this shop, huh?... Thank you, Grace!

Or here, how cute is this?

We went to Greg James Sculptor, sadly it was closed, but, yipiiie, here it is, the ocean!!!!

And a(nother) cool sculpture - with seagull!

And here...

Ingo points it out:

Yipps, a loo!

Here is the proof... I´m in. I joined that generation that´s glued to the smartphone whilst walking.... No!!! That was a one-time-only!

Since I forgot to ask Grace if it´s ok to post pics with her and or Pat I put them here, where friends are welcome to visit! Here is the short version.

Here we are with another girl :-)

Another mural:

The harbor (sorry, this is a pic-galore!):

Awww, no?

We went to The Round House again and then really to...

... Little Creatures and somehow – again, I asked beforehand if I may tell the naked story, which I did when Grace said she orders naked burgers at Grill´d... and I added I love when people can laugh about themselves.

Take care, these people are serious about this!!!!

As I sit here at the very small kitchen-table in the cabin I have to grin big.
Because... it sure was hilarious!

We felt like being stuck in a movie-scene, which reminded me of Joondalup the other day, but the movie-title was removed from my brain!!!

P: „Gone With The Wind“?
Grace: „Lost In Translation“?
Guys, you cracked me up, it did not help, but, yes, I love laughing about myself :-)

Pic see other blog...

Gone with the wind!!! LOL!!!
(And no, I never saw that movie).

The Pizza at Little Creatures was Y.U.M.

Reckon we were the weirdest table for the time being.

My pizza at least suggested „without (what was it, anchovies?)“
. Grace wanted her pizza without the fish, the coffee had to be extra-hot, whereas the beer was too warm and we needed ice-cubes (!) with that!

Pic see other blog...

Some weirdos we are, huh? And proud of it, too.

Ingo then added all we do not have is time here in Australia – and got a very blank look from Grace, who, above all the weird ordering thought of thyme. Big LOL!

We sure can get lost in translation, huh? (and yes, I did see that movie at least).

Do I go further with a Jägermeister and how little is really in there?
Hi to Sami, too, here, btw. Her Son was born where it´s produced. It´s exactly 13 km from our doorstep.
Hope he liked his J&aumlgermeister ;-)

Love is in the air, huh?

Love, btw, yep, guess those people who work here do:

And, as said a couple of weeks ago, I do look on the ground more:

But also Ingo runs around with eyes wide open, he made me go back in again:

If it says ATM is is ATM...

Fun idea, huh?

Time runs way too fast here! Thanks again, Grace and Pat for a wonderful morning and a yummy lunch.
And the left-overs that we forgot in your car!

Later we went to our Shopping center and took a first pic... just a pic, my, Vegemite (and Marmite???) gets more popular, huh?

For dinner we went to Subway btw.
As usual I wanted my half (see a pattern here? See blog´s title) with no sauce :-)

No-no´s we are at times, huh?

Well, see you, Andr3az!
