A Trip On Memory Lane!

Ingo pointed this to me, a magazine from 1971.
And where did he find that, you might wonder?

See, I have real clever friends!!
I said,due to the spider-bite I cannot walk much.

Hence... we leapt into the past!

Grace & Pat took us to heaven!

We still have my Granma's lille kitchen table from the 1950s, the burned spot when my  (Baby-) Brother distracted her included.

I was in heaven here, really!!!

OK, I was a kid, but, hey, do  not underestimate what a kid can remember!!!
The 1970s were colorful, free, Dad did take his time to play with me (I was still "cute")...

The following I saw at my friend's, only!
We had plain ones but with these "spaces" we used for fondue for New Years!
Brown-reddish they were and dark green the others.

Mom put in mini-corns, mini-gherkins and mini "silver-onions" and I don't remember  what else in those!

Ingo pointed me to this book.
Our children's doctor's name was really Dr. Born.
I remember one time he said, "this sting will hurt, the formula is oily."

BOY did it hurt!!!  I was maybe 5. But knowing it will hurt really did help!
I cannot remember this, though!!!

 And on we go!!!

Eggs??? Yes,eggs!

Ingo said he would've tried - but he did not go (curtain was secured). Sadly (!!!) I did not need  to go so no pics of the loo....

My fav.
Back in the day, when Ingo was still in Rhueden they had a vacuum cleaner like that as exhibit.
And the other day we came home... ANTS-INVASION!!!
Guess who cleaned up the mess (a mini-thank you to my bitten, swollen foot) - Ingo did!!
Of course.

He wore no apron (but we have one at home!!)
I have... HAVE to share this from Italy 2015:

What To Expect

After we enjoyed time with Grace and Pat at Hillarys they dropped us off at Westfield Whitford City (where you can get an excellent beer, can see how it's brewed...).

This wall is a sign of a friendly Shopping Center, don't you think?
You can expect, as the plant-wall informs you...

And a...

And also...

So if you visit Perth make sure to pop in, it's made nicely all over, bring your kids, too!

This is for Tom's Signs2.

T Stands For ToTal Luck

As we are "Down-Under" here is my ticket for Elizabeth's T!

The journal:

Monday: As we have the "same" cam Ingo took mine by accident to take this pic.
EEEEK!

And yes!!! You can top that!!!
Ingo "saved" a f**** cockroach.
We went to Waldecks. Cafe - closed...Crap ice cream from Woolies...

Tuesday: Leederville and then  the new museum.
Art from all sides! And facts, of course. Posts to come!
Got stung.

Wednesday: Went to the city. A stupid sting can not stop me, right, "cause I'm having a good time, having a good time...." #Freddie.
Walked way too much...

Thursday: Foot swollen, no water.
First time I cleaned my glasses in the toilet cause I had detergent on before learning we have no water.
Was shortly back, then gone. Wanted to cool my swollen foot, no such luck. Frozen can of Tuna is not the same!
Legs hurt from walking too much.

Friday: Despite that foot went to meet Sami in Bayswater and we took off to Caversham Wildlife park.

Loads of murals and animals shot with the cam (posts to come) and luckily Sami got me to see a doc. Bitten by a spider, am on antibiotics for 5 days and no more walking (much).

Weekend: Saturday: We went to the SC to see the Lunar New year festival & parade.
LOUD. Last time it was better!
It rained!!!
Later Ingo went to Elizabeth Quay to see the fireworks and drones. I stayed put and made a birthday card. Let me tell you:the little watercolor-palette is crap!

Sunday: Lazy day. I was really lucky (not happy, though) I came away without a visit to the hospital!

Food-wise, let's get back to our train-journey, shall we?

 Indian Pacific is like this:

Sadly I was enjoying the super-mega Camel-Curry too much for thinking of taking a pic, but you see, we had space and it was real luxury, prepared be real chefs (and waaaaay too much).

Can someone stop the time from running, pretty please???

A Short Visit

I take you back to before our train ride.
River took us to the city of Adelaide and here to the markets where we found this beautiful mural. So cheery!

On we went to find another mural...

This was a tricky one as it was really high up and the alley so narrow.
I try to break it down for you:

The "bottom"-half:

I would not call the pattern exactly Chinese-like, what do you think?
Either way: a beautiful one!
Sadly we had not much time, so, that's all, folks!

Foot is improving and @Sami I can keep it quite still as Grace and Pat pick us up today!
Yay for our friendships and thanks to blogger, right!

Next we'll be back to Perth, mural-wise.

Mural-Less Leederville

As murals are reserved for Sami's Monday murals I try to show you around a bit in mural-paradise Leederville without spoiling some Mondays.
As in... I stayed home yesterday and today with my foot and Ingo's adventure I can only show you when we are home and have data-volume.

This beauty above I wanted to show you the inside, too.... difficult with the harsh Aussie-sun, but...

This hat I got 2013 in the kid's section at BIG W, and it became my Perth-hat, which I nearly lost at Hillarys, it fell out from Pat's car and nearly forgot it in Sami's car. Maybe it's time to say good-bye?
At Caversham on Friday they had a  red kid's hat with a string. But it was too big.
The T-shirt shows Doc Emmett Brown claiming we don't need roads anymore.
A customer at BIG W was happy to see that! He asked if it's OK to step to me about the T-Shirt. Of course, mate!!  Thank you!

I prefer my egg  with a "coat", though! As my Mom used to make it.

From Leederville we took the CAT.
It's a GREAT concept!
Wiki:"The Perth Central Area Transit (Perth CAT) system, or simply CAT, consists of five bus routes in the centre of Perth and three bus routes in Joondalup. CAT services formerly operated in Fremantle.... Unlike all other Transperth services, most CAT routes are free."

And hence Perth avoids some cars in the city. And especially great for travelers  like us without a car altogether.

And!!! Whilst 2019 we stopped shouting "THANK YOU!" to the driver as no one did, this has changed, THANK YOU!

As huge as Perth is, Ingo put a map of the CBD and Braunschweig's inner ring side by side.
Not much bigger, Perth! Just much better, more clever and modern.

See, I managed to show you Leederville without ONE mural!
Tomorrow I will follow the timeline, kinda, so you'll have to wait for them a little longer.

The Colorfuld World

The title came to mind cause I fail to translate what I actually wanted to say.
There is a German saying about when you make a strange suggestion we refer to birds, either to the sound, or we "show" you one, tipping with the index finger on our forehead.

Does not work, so, what else about the birds I saw yesterday?

Yes, colorful! And bet most know the connection- it was Sami from the blog COLORFULWORLD who took me to Caversham Wildlife Park yesterday!

Words, huh?

As I type something special is going on:
It's raining!!!

 More cuties:

This is for Eileen's Saturday's Critters, of course.

More to come of course!

And to those who worried:
Not only my foot blew up more, my leg followed and turned red, so Sami insisted on taking me to medicare - luckily!!!!

Both, Sami and the (very nice doc) assumed I was bitten by,eeeeek!!! - a spider and have an allergic reaction.
The doc said I am not to blame for my stubbornness after learning due to COVID I haven't been here in 5 years 😏

I am on antibiotics now, cool with - his words - frozen peas.
Whereas in Germany you get cooling-pads as pressie here they are quite expensive!
So Ingo got me peas (and corn).
I have tablets against the pain (not used yet, though the night was terrible) and antiseptic.
It's actually 3+ bites and one won't heal.

Crazy, huh.
We've been traveling Australia once for 6,once for 7 months, living in the car, sitting by fires and never anything happened. And now this!
Wish me luck all goes well, meds on for 5 days!
