HO-HO-HO! Oh, Dammit, Janet!

The bell rang - the postie was here yesterday, Ingo got it.
Was for me.

There was no note "from Santa" or such!!!!
So I opened - it was from Santa!!

 Thank you, River!!!

Also!! Thank you for mentioning Ingo first!
Here we have a huge debate since decades about this subject and I am just like you!

What did I find in the horribly expensive envelope (really, what do they do to us with the taxes?!).

Irony, I know. I´ll read this sad book on the swing! And tell you what! It will make me feel even more grateful for what we have! It will "burn down" even more! Be more humble...

Maybe some of you remember I had the series on this from the internet.
Now I will dive in deeper - and there was more!

I told myself to NOT.

Wait till January 1st!!!

I could not.
Let me present you the COOLEST calendar I EVER got!

I made a happy dance (in my mind)!!!!
Ran over to Ingo!

Sad Grace does not blog anymore, she´d just bend her head down and say, no.
Her daughter and I ... "there is a The-Simpsons-episode on that".
When we met all ran away ;-)

The COOLEST  calendar ever!

and bite and bite, bite, bite, bite, bite bite.... Itchy and Scratchy, of course ...
I could not help myself I went all through! I felt like a kid, cheating!
Here is an example, so cool:

I´ll let you know, I promise - all THE events!

Certainly. The Simpsons! Created by Scientists and Engineers. WOW.
I have not seen this here!

Thank you River - you made more than my day!!!

Baby Henry 🦁

We´ll share!!!
P.S. With Janet I refer to The Rocky Horror Picture Show - it just came to my mind...

Soon

This was 2013. We met our bloggy-friend Grace (who sadly stopped blogging) for the first time for real.
She came to our Caravan Park, picked us up and took us to The Indiana, saying she invited another bloggy friend, too, you´ll meet her tomorrow.

It certainly is our Monday Mural Host, Sami.

Grace: She lived in Germany once, too.
Me: Oh, where?
Sami: Small town...
Me: Try me.
Sami: Braunschweig.
Me: SMALL town?!

Wiki: "Braunschweig is considered a metropolis and a regiopolis."
And also: "The city consists of 37.5% immigrants (approximately 102,000) with a high amount of migrants coming from other European countries, Asia and Africa."

It´s a small world! Her Hubby and later I worked for Siemens mobility Braunschweig!

And soon we´ll be back in Perth and sure will visit Cottesloe for Sculpture by the Sea, yippeeeeeee ....

The internet series:

"Germany to scare: 30 ruins of days long gone

  Military site, Wünsdorf, Brandenburg

The former military base in this garrison town was abandoned in 1994 when the Soviets withdrew their troops following German reunification (although a Lenin statue still stands there). Once known as the "Forbidden City," Wünsdorf was previously used as an imperial military training area and by the Wehrmacht during the Third Reich.

The complex, with its bunkers and officers' house, can now be explored on a guided tour. Or you can follow the circular hiking trail that runs directly past the site."

To John

On TV news yesterday....
John was in Dresden on a train at night and witnessed a Syrian drugged man  going at a woman "with light skin".
He helped, he tried to argue, but the man was on drugs.

 "I saw Migration-problems in Germany´s cities".

A "man" with a knife stabbed him for helping. We have a problem with those weapons here.
Forbid those they take axes, not kidding. Or a machete....

"All I heard was screaming"

Understand why I was so afraid to go to Dortmund via train/bus without Ingo?
And I´ll have to do it again...

John says, "yes, there will be scars. I´ll carry them with pride."
Police visited him in hospital with flowers to say thank you.

Wanna visit Germany?
Think twice.
Former Chancellor Angela Merkel really did "some" job with "all refugees welcome".
No consequences for her.
I got insulted twice by Syrian men for not covering my head and once attacked physically.

It´s the same everywhere, I think...

Oh, boy, this struck me hard.

I left Ingo in hospital Joondalup/Perth 2019 and went "home" in the dark.
A drunk dude wanted to get at me on the train.
Two men got up and told him off.
Drunk dude left.

This is no political blog.  But I feel I need to share sometimes what´s going on in little Germany (or Australia)... Sorry for not always being funny...

The drunk dude on the train was Australian. Migration is not "that easy" as it is here...

And: Not all migrants are like that!!!!
Most post/mail-men now are migrants! Learning German and being polite! Adapting to our life-style!
I know cause they all ring our bell!
Please do not get me wrong!

I wish we were all but people!!!!

Happy Sunday, to heroes!!!! Worldwide!

Average number of carriages: 35 carriages including guest carriages, crew quarters, restaurants, lounges and power vans.

Ingo let me know  the Indian  Pacific, that we rode February last year,   is  on TV.

 Some infos, if you like.

Imagine how they did it "back in the day""!

Finally:

See here, February last year...

Was interesting!

The series:

"Are these the worst decisions in history?

 Atari rejects Apple

When Apple co-founders Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak wanted to sell their revolutionary personal computers, they approached Atari, then one of the largest video game and home computer companies in the world. Atari said no. They even rejected the Steves' offer to work for them. Atari was crushed by the 1983 video game crash. Meanwhile, Apple became the largest brand on the planet in computers and consumer electronics."

Henry 🦁 ´s alter ego the wedge-tail eagle:

Thanks again, River, for helping, meeting us  and having fun!

Help Is On The Way!

Ingo found these stories with the very helpful Japp-man.

Japp is the Norwegian version of our Mars-bar (here you find more about sweets from that country). It´s clichée, but, oh, come on...

From times when commercials were still fun(ny)!
Hilarious, don´t you think?

If you´re having a bad day, I hope this cheered you up.

And whilst we´re at funny non-English ads...

"... buy 2 crates of beer!"

FB-find:

"With the US halting intelligence sharing on Ukraine, France is ready to step in. Paris will provide Kyiv with its own intelligence — French Defense Minister Lecornu"

Source: Kyiv Post

Addendum, also by Kyiv Post:

"Friedrich Merz, the projected next chancellor, plans to allocate an additional €3 billion in aid to Ukraine, which had been frozen by Scholz — Le Monde"

"Funny" how it all seems to come together. Or scary!!! A good scary!

"Asked if Canada could offer troops to any peacekeeping force in Ukraine, Trudeau says:
“Canada has looked at the ways it can best help and everything’s on the table… Canada will be there and is open to doing what is necessary.” - I hope these all are TRUE.

The series...  a fun-flashback (OK, I prepared this post long ago and then found other things to share - and now it so fits with the Japp-HELPING)!

"The tastiest dishes with the funniest names

 "Hushpuppy

A hushpuppy is a savory, deep-fried ball made from cornmeal batter. The name comes from US southerners who fried the dough and fed it to dogs to "shut the puppies up."

Reckon I´d rather go for Japp!

 Henry 🦁

Japp - to a fun time! And YES to supporting!

On ... Special Days

First off: I respect all of you and your opinions.
And it was nice so many of you wishing us a Happy Valentine´s!

Despite I said I had "mine" start of the month cause we present each other whenever we find something.
I got some more yesterday, btw, well actually we: For our bathroom and kitchen, and Ingo´s car, for US! Pics to come.

Imagine: You have the ultimate gift and hold it back for a special day.
Drunk-driver, one on the cellphone whilst driving, losing track, running into your lane (all happened to me), heart attack... whatever, runs into Ingo and... kills him.

There I sit with the best pressie ever he never got cause I withheld it for a date the industry/history chose for us...

So I was wondering a bit about all the Valentine´s wishes after I made our approach clear.
NO OFFENSE, PLEASE!

Ingo was VERY SERIOUSLY ill, he still is chronically, so I do not wait for "made up" dates...
WE do not wait for such dates.

Again, please NO OFFENSE
We do not celebrate Birthdays, Wedding Days, Christmas - we celebrate (more or less!!!) every day.
Flowers, at least here in Germany, get extra-expensive for Valentine´s Day.
Whenever Ingo sees some "abandoned", sad, "leftover" flowers he brings them home to me, to us.

Also note we have no children.
I made a big fuss on self-made advent-Calendars for the Nieces. But the bought ones from Granma, Granpa & Co were "cooler", so... call me old-fashioned. Why waste thoughts, time, money, more time, creativity for nothing (one Niece with diabetes I was a challenge).

Give with warm hands and heart, whenever you can is our motto.
Yet, of course, I have all Birthdays of friends/family at hand that were given to me and give them an extra-note on their SPECIAL day 😘

Long story short: Thank you for your wishes, in my heart they count every day.
This community helped me through real dark times and cheered me up even more in good ones! Hope I gave/give back, also.

The series...

"The tastiest dishes with the funniest names

 "Hushpuppy

HELP!

OK, I´m not good at sketching hands, but that aside...
Maybe you knew this all along, just a reminder for when a person that goes with another, likely arm in arm like a loving couple, touches your arm whilst passing by:

Turn around and when he/she has the hand behind the back, signaling this down and up - step by step - at least three times it means the person is being kidnapped and needs your help!

Or if you need help, touch another person AND.HOPE.FOR.THE.BEST the person knows what this means!

I found a great video at FB (FB sadly  let´s not embed their videos no more):

A girl walks with a man having his arm/hand wrapped around her shoulder.
She passes by an elderly man and touches his arm.
He turns around, sees the gesture, has no idea of the meaning, shrugs shoulders and walks on.
Same with a young woman - no clue. The third, a waiter, gets it and rushes for help.

This man does it too fast and opens his hand fully - he misses step two, show your hand like in the middle after opening it, with the thumb still in your hand. It symbolizes being held against your will.
If you´re as small as I am, get someone taller for help!

So, please, if it happens to you, try to remember this, try not to panic.
And always turn around if someone touches you.
This gesture was implemented in 2020 - go figure...

For Henry and today´s mural and funny food just scroll down.
Funny enough it is about freedom - coincidence?
