More Fun! And "It" Is Back

No idea if you can read me - likely not. But let me give you an idea?
Unlike the "northern" countries like Norway, Sweden etc, that get everything in the original language in films, movies etc. and with subtitles in their language us Germans get everything translated.

Means: The movement of the mouth is not really fitting to "the outcome" and original phrases get lost.
Worse are docus: They start with the original, you´re in! And then the German translator starts babbling, the original sound gets dimmed, you hear the first phrases twice - annoying - and you often hear it´s not "properly" translated, too.

Get Netflix, you say?

Pfft. Not what I really want, costs money and I have no idea, but reckon it´s in German here, too. Plus likely not the content I want.

So. I buy DVDs.
Yes. I am that old I buy that.
At Bull they are...

 ...Oh, boy, those times, "remember"?
It was a pain, wasn´t it? Especially in winter for people who wear glasses, like me - you  get fogged up and run around "blind". Fogged or without glasses!

I worked from home, no vacc needed, Ingo had to go and testify EVERY day to be able to go to work! He works heavy machinery, so working from home was no option.

We, as many my friends, did not get the (in Germany at least) not properly tested vaccination. I heard of so many people who suffer "long-covid"-symptoms and saw posters informing you (too late) what your suffering might be - see a doctor if you feel sick and got the vacc!
Even our doctor was against it.

We simply kept the mask on in public, kept a huge distance and sterilized our hands.

The distance was a problem, though, so many dumb people.

The good Covid brought: Working from home is a real option!! For Office-people like me at least.
I decided to work at the company once or twice a month (show your face) - other I have seven steps from my private to my work-PCs.

I thought I watched the last DVD of "Bull", but, no! Yipeeee, one more set to watch!

Reckon you don´t "read" me, huh, or do you have a "language-problem", too?

Well, now you know why so many German people are lousy in the English language.
Most simply have no contact with it.

I was amongst other a translation "manager" and translated many a technical document myself.
Even Spanish!  Thanks to AI and that I still know French a bit it was no problem...

I wonder... There was the idea of "Esperanto" - wouldn´t that be great? We keep our roots and are able to talk to every- and anybody.

AI will take care properly soon, I reckon, and we get dumber and dumber...

Any thoughts from your side?

Henry, you are safe in my hand, no worries...

Frogs, Birds, Lake and Summer... and #10

This likely is the last time I sketched on the balcony. See the pattern of the tablecloth.
It was a froggy on a cup. He walks out! Understandable... See my glasses as reference of the size.
As small as summer was... this likely was the last BBQ, also...

I certainly added ham and cheese. Which stands in contrast to my blog-title, I know. But on #10 I didn´t like ham and always ordered without. (I also added radish and olives to this BBQ-meal).
The pizza place, Da Nico, in my home town does not exist anymore, the peeps retired.

But I keep the title.
I long lived in Braunschweig but when visiting I ordered One Ten without ham via phone.
"Can get cold, goes to Braunschweig, right?" And they always smiled full of pride when I fetched it.
I one time found out it´s not #10 anymore, yet,...!
Also my Bro and even Mom when visiting me popped in with a 10 without ham 🥰🍕.

So... I keep the title.
Yesterday!!!!

Well, kinda. Ingo is still a man, of course, but he had this in his hand and smiled big.
With these animals I certainly join Eileen with Saturday Critters!
This is... snail mail from dear... look here:

... dipping a foot in her beautiful lake and chat with dear Kathy in person!
She wrote me a lovely letter, two pages even, this was #1:

I named her Dandy, she was tame and got "real old" with 2 1/2. She roamed free, could crawl up my body and told me stories - she knew where/what my ear was, she was clever (and sadly lonely).
Thank you, Kathy, for your update - and the memories that came along with it! 💙💛
Sunflowers were my Dad´s fav flowers, too, and Mom had his coffin covered with them.

Last... my PC reminded me...

If you understand Bavaria´s (not Germany´s!) vibe about overpriced beer and masses of people who are close together (and the news giving warnings of spreading COVID hence worldwide again), let me know.
I would, as said, rather dip my foot in Kathy´s lake.

See how Henry´s wife elegantly sets her left paw? Cute, huh.
Off to the city soon for railway!

German "Politicians"...

This blog is a fun blog but at times Germany freaks me out!
I speak of Germany only here.

I am tired at times, but I don´t have the "Fatigue Syndrome" many here in Germany got cause they got the "Anti-COVID-vaccine" that was not tested here and were so afraid  of COVID.

Do not get meds that are not tested!!! Hope in your countries they were!

Ingo, who had to work with colleagues, went to go each and every day (Sunday included) to proof he has no COVID. He needed a certificate.
He kept the distance, etc, same me.

Germans who got the non-tested vaccines and non-tested boosters were and ARE sick all the time.

Some have what is called the "Fatigue Syndrome".

This makes me SO ANGRY.
Why not relate on people UNDERSTANDING the problem and taking care???

Some politicians, especially Lauterbach, at first wanted to even exclude "us" from society / force us to get the vaccine.
Now in the aftermath he says "he feels with vaccine-victims who are sick longterm now".
I don´t know. He keeps his job and earns a lot o... he GETS a lot of money still.
Beats me.

Wearing masks all the time was wrong, he admitted openly cause that way the body has no chance to built up it´s immune system.
Oh, Lauterbach, this comes to your mind a bit late.
He made heaps of money with the mask-thing.

Indoors, where you sometimes have to come too close I understand, but outdoors?!
He pushed people to panic.

Ingo´s Brother is a doctor and had to get the vaccine. He is healthy. Did he really take it? He said it´s good we refused. Kept the distance instead.

This is not over. It´s a virus and it will mutate like every virus does.

I had the flu first time in my life this year. "Just" the flu. No idea where I picked that up, though.
Years ago I got a vaccine against Swine Flu and was tired for weeks, I always only have the side effects.
Never again!

I know most of you got the vaccine/boosters, but TESTED!

And now... silence.
You don´t see Lauterbach´s face no more on the news.
Masks are mostly gone and we STILL have sick people from the vaccines.
They are tired, they cannot taste anything, have problems to move, you name it.

Shame on these politicians who spread panic to make quick money with untested meds. Glad also Ingo, who is chronically sick anyways, resisted.

Who knows what would have happened if he´d mixed that untested stuff with all his tested medications?! He might be "gone" since then.

German-rant over.
Back to fun-blogging!

Henry 🦁

No, thank you, I don´t wanna be seen with greedy politicians...

Hungry Like The (Recycled) Wolf - FFO And Smiles

With this sleepy Henry I join Nicole´s FFO.
This cardboard-plate is from the Christmas-market pre-Covid.
I have no idea what it was that I had, but obviously I needed a knife and was very hungry...
And as it is recycled this way I also join Elizabeth.

The Lion btw is from Perth and came with the belonging book, an ole pal from, I think, 2017! How time flies...

Wanna smile with Annie´s Smiles?

I think this is the happiest lamb on earth!
Oh, really.
How could I eat this?! I mean, I did. And even joked about it. The men (in the canteen) laughed, the only other woman gave me a very nasty look.
Maybe she had this fella in mind.
But then... she had it on her plate as well...
This one enjoys a Happy Easter, that´s for sure 🥰

Henry 🦁

"... I.am.sleeping, remember?"
... sorry, sweet dreams, you.

People Are People

I have a sad story for you. Happened this Saturday...

This song never gets old!!! Please listen, if you like. Not hear, listen...

I was at dm
Check out (no self check out).
We were in a queue.

No one wearing a mask, which is cool cause much more power against Corinna is... distance, right?

I do know some of you think differently - please give me a chance and read till the end.
If you don´t have already you´ll end up having safety-glovies with you from now on....

This is the most powerful tool, distance and protection. And so simple!

So. A lady came up to the man in front of me and myself, asking if we wait in line.

Hello. Certainly we do!! He´d kept the proper distance to the person in front, as well, of course... (?).

And some still mistake this for "standing around somewhere", for crying out loud!

We have no markers on the floor no more, so many people forget.
Sometimes, when a store is full, I take a trolley/shopping cart, even if I need but one item, so I can make sure I have the proper distance from behind.
I stand in front of "mine" and keep the distance to the front, too.
Too many people are too dumb to get this.

Anyhows!!!

This man in front of me at dm... he has a heart failure. He can not wear a mask.
CAN NOT.

Once, he told me, a guy jammed his trolley into his back, insulting him for not wearing a mask.
Another time a man hit him on the back of his head!!! (DISTANCE, hello!)
He cried for help. The store-manager was on the hitter´s side.

Keep the distance!!!!!
A mask helps, too, yes, but DISTANCE is the key!

And yes, there are people who can not wear a mask!!!!

They cannot BREATHE under it!

Oh, I can´t wait till they put the burden on us again.
People with glasses (like myself) staggering around half blind in the over-heated stores again and people feel safe and come NEAR.

We will have to live with this version of the flu, COVID.
It is a nasty version, yes, and life may change. Or has changed.

But we always have to keep in mind what is important and what is not. And that some cannot wear a mask.

All the kids - do you really want to have them wear one?
From which age on?

Comes in to me like from which age on a muslim girl has to hide her hair, or more.

People are people, maybe a song that never gets old!

Henry 🦁

I always was for keeping the distance, all my life.
You never know what a stranger spreads.

Ingo once helped someone up on the Christmas market.
The ambulance guys told him off big and said, "touch no one, go wash your hands NOW! This man is sick and contagious, we know him already!"

I ever since have those thin glovies in my bag, cause.. if help is needed I am there, but I wanna be safe.

Yes, two posts today, as I join Sami, just scroll down, you will also find the Birthday-Boy there 🧡
And, please... play safe. But don´t hide your smile! If from afar...

T STands For Gone Too Long

20 years ago today they drove Dad home. In an ambulance. Bro was with him.
I had Bro´s car and was faster, parked, went to the pharmacy to get Dad lemonsticks, then a special cup so he can drink by himself.
On the way back saw our place was dark.

Dad was gone.
As he wished he made it home... and then let cancer win.
I could not even say good-bye.

To  top it... I tend to forget anniversaries (@Elizabeth, I´m really sorry!), my Brother´s brain avoids moaning dates.
For the first time last Wednesday he said there is no need to remind him of today. He knows he´ll buy sunflowers on Tuesday...

My Dad´s fav flowers. His coffin was covered in them.
My Brother believes the ones who had to leave us are still "somewhere up there" (man, it must be crowded, Dad hated crowds as much as I do! And it gets more crowded day by day 💙💛)

The pair of shoes I learned walking in were passed to Bro to achieve the same and then Dad  put a coat of gold over them (he also was a gold-smith).
Niece allowed me to have the left one, Bro kept the right one.

Dad never met Bro´s family.
We miss you.
And as long as we do that you´re not entirely gone.

And: Summer is back! What a good sign.

The journal again, if you like:

Monday: Ummmm, yes. Handwritten at the bottom.
We were sick and when I took to it started with what I had. Which was the weekend, LOL!
Only realized when too late.
Did I mention being sick?
We met Sami & family again but sadly Henry was still hidden for Open air piece AIDA. Her Daughter and I tried to remove the gutter and AT ONCE such a darn guy told us off and was not to be convinced to let them have a peek.
Ingo was still on the way, sadly, he probably would´ve been able to tell the guy off.
A peek is all we wanted!
A coffee it was instead.

Tuesday: A crazy workday again....

Wednesday: Ingo was on "holiday" (did I mention we were sick?) and hence I got a super-cool coffee brought to my workplace, my contribution to Elizabeth´s T:

Now doesn´t this look too yummy with that white hat?
I´m still rather a tea-drinker, though...

And, I giggled on this:

It´s official!! In a document I found him like this!! Awwww, cute!
Every time I see one of our trams (right close by) I wait and silently say, "hi Panto!".
I promise a pic of ours for next time.
The official German word is "Stromabnehmer". How boring is that!

Other it was warm enough to sit on the balcony and doodle a bit.

Thursday: Another fun day at work.
Some Spanish fella invited to a meeting - and didn´t show up.
We had other issues to clarify, so no prob, but after a while the other Spanish colleague asked if she´ll join or not.
Her answer: I have burning brownies.

Hm.
We all - Spanish colleague inclusive - were puzzled.
She prefers baking????

That´s Spanish for: "I have another big problem and can´t join." - Now we know.

Later Bro called me.
He´s vaccinated, boostered and all, went to a concert, now he and his wife are seriously down with COVID.
So, please. Another one. Corinna mutates pretty fast, don´t you think?
The whole vaccinating, boostering etc... can you call it simply money-making?
3 colleagues came home with "her", too...

Friday: The Spanish colleague prefers Pizza, LOL.
And teamleader N told me about his cat.
A nice start into the weekend.

Weekend: My body was so friendly to push me through the week, work-wise, but from Friday to Saturday I slept 11 1/2 hours and was sooooo tired all day, could not eat (as all of the week) - Ingo tried his best to feed me through:

Cherries from Obsthof Riess. Whenever Ingo is in traffic jam he has a good view on them...

And for dinner:

Sunday I miraculously was absolutely fine and Ingo was better, too. Summer came back and I went with left shoe from above on the balcony after cleaning the kitchen, cooking Pizza sauce from old tomatoes and all!

The body is a crazy thing!

Mine, btw...

Dad, it will be a late reminder.
And another T-ticket:

Another hot day is on the way, yayyyyy!

Henry 🦁

Another one being dragged into place!
Did you know: "The Brunswick Lion was the first large detached sculpture of the Middle Ages north of the Alps and the first large hollow casting of a figure since antiquity. The bronze casting by an unknown artist, probably from Brunswick, weighs 880 kilogrammes, has a height of 1.78 metres (5.8 ft), a length of 2.79 m (9.2 ft) and a maximum thickness of 12 millimetres. The sculpture was originally gilded." (wiki).

Happy T!

Party!

Oh, I hate myself.
Ingo was so kind to get my bike up from the cellar and off I took at 4:00 p.m.
What was I thinking?!
On foot I need 40 minutes.

I stopped in the park, sadly no book with me.
Time to show you my new shoes some asked about:

The beautiful bag is a pressie from my SIL btw. Actually I wanted to take my Perth-bag but thought that might ruin my t-shirt whilst driving the bike.

I stopped here and there...

I sometimes wonder. My Bro - like my Mum was - always late. Me, like my Dad... wayyyy too early - both not good!

A "gem"?

I stood there, knowing no one at  ESE.
Was sure at home I´d grabbed, more or less blindly a Freo T-Shirt when suddenly a female ESE-colleague addressed me (Yipeee! Those who know me know I am extremely shy, it´s a pain).

She said, "oh, Perth!!! Do you belong to the Perth-project?"

We have a Perth project???? WHAT?!

I was wearing this, btw, name-tag included:

"No, it´s a railway going to a mining town ... no one wants to work there..."

Me: "Tom Price?"

LOL, you should´ve seen her face!!!

(See our "huge" car in the background!).

Oh, so glad I wore the Perth shirt!!!!
She is rather shy, too and we stuck together for nearly the rest of the evening. She introduced me to others, it was a nice event.

Please, if you´re in for a wonderful, cute story read to you.... click!
You will hear the finest Aussie-slang, too! 😍
You´ll meet a Koala, also. And Kookaburras. A possum, too. A frog, like on our balcony. And (no) surprise, a kangaroo.

They admired him and on my explanation went ohhhh, and ahhhh so much the only man left the table, LOL!

Such a variety of food, two nice bosses, one, after the official part came back and back and back with these:

"Toot my horn"! (when translation goes wrong - the horn of a train was translated to "deer head" and my now teamleader went to Sweden with Jägermeister - it has a deer head!).
Boy, oh, boy!
We had more than one, ice-cool, too - oh, if I was nasty I would´ve sneaked a glass home - did not. These are glasses from Magnifest.

One new colleague from Poland was so eager to speak German. Blue eyes, beautiful face, trying to flirt... with me!!! And no, no Jägermeister for him, he went back to Poland that night.
Some came from Frankfurt, Kiel and even Munich!!!
I do believe this is a great company.

I said I´ll leave 8:30 latest. Was home 10:30, Ingo was about to call!
Was too ... lazy! to drag the bike down into the cellar, weee, it´s really steep. Also without Jägermeister that is difficult for me!
So. Like back when Ingo was in hospital and I needed the bike every day... it´s happy to stay here!

Henry 🦁

Thank you, big boy!

T STands For NoThing To Do (? Help?)

Since I´m too dumb for sketching hands I thought I buy this cheapy and give it a lille "study".
Hmmmm... argh... no!
And, sorry, this is a long one. As long as the war in Ukraine, maybe.

I should not start with pointing something out, should I.
Ingo liked it, though.
Monkey-business, huh?

I made our stove a bit nicer, pics to come at 4 Kathy´s tomorrow.
THE BRASS, if you care, was the first pub I went to all by myself (I´m an introvert and this was a huge step for me).

Oh, yes  - as this is for Elizabeth´s T stands for Tuesday we need a drink, right!

Yes, on friend´s request we brought our "family" along, all the way to Perth, Western Australia.
Mielebär (yupp, he is from the Miele-family, well he) just looked on, this was my beer:

And yes - I was thirsty!

Here goes:

This is in Northbridge and to the men, haha, easy. To me... I get lost easily, so going there from Madeley on  my own was a "task" I mastered..

The journal, if you care:

Monday: More tutorials + tests on railway.
Ingo needed a receipt, so, since I work from home, tried to order that. It took me 30 minutes plus.
Is it still / again Corinna, or what is the problem at the doc?

We had to suffer a certain colleague, my T and I.
And I do mean suffer.
We called him either "Wiki" cause he had a minipli of knowledge from "everything" and needed to share. Or even as#hole. Because he is one.
T whats-apped me: On the quarterly meeting Wiki sat in first row and... fell asleep while the boss was talking. Then he woke up in a hectical movement and asked a dumb question.
The whole company rolled eyes and giggled.
I sure did miss another embarrassing moment the dude had.
And I witnessed many myself he had.

Tuesday: The tutor suddenly got funny!
Referring to the Gauss curve he called it the "worldview of a Braunschweig Person" as Gauss was a Braunschweiger 🧡.
I finished all the tests one day early, Yippie Yah Yei Schweinebacke!, as Bruce Willis says in German!
Sport, as usual, and Ingo cut my hair - took not even a minute. Pic courtsy to Tom :-)
"Schnipp-Schnapp", as we say in German.

Wednesday: I turned 50 this January and... kaaa...booom.
Got an invitation to "take care of myself" aka... first Mammography.
With a cute sign for encouragement 🧡
I´d heard horrible stories, but went (I also go to the dentist for check-ups - she is always proud of me 😊).
After waiting endlessly (Corinna!) the lady was so nice, took away all the fear, and...
if you are up to that for the first time, too

It´s nothing!!! Not pleasant, but "OK".
She was so nice it wasn´t even really embarrassing.

Walked to my next doc... well... let´s see. Some sport with DE ... 2000 kcal-mark easily broken.

Thursday: Went to ESE, got my workgear #2, then we went to pick up teamleader Alstom, a Ukrainian who just´d brought goods to Kiev and came back with refugees.
Met the customers (nice guys), got workgear #3.
Did a lot of walking that day due to wrong gear, Ingo later put it together perfectly - Bill calls that "ingonomics" 🧡!

Friday: April Fools - snow!!
Work? Nope. Teamleader Alstom found no time. I drank soooooo much tea looking through what Alstom does, project-unrelated.
It was so de-motivating... just three sessions with DE.
Nice new calendar-page with Die Maus.

Weekend: Down the drain a bit.
I am sick and tired of it all.
Work.. or not work, we are both not happy with that part, over and over and over and over I listen to Ingo mourning about his work
I make suggestions, like... make lists etc, he does not, he prefers to complain into my ears and I am sick of listening.
Another weekend down the drain - as if we had all the time in the world - we have not.

All good again, but work can get you down at times, huh?

Made kale.
Hm.

Hm. Description tomorrow. I used too much broth!

To a new week - to peace, fun work.

Spoiler:

My journal. Pfff... time... STOP?

And yes, I am the only woman again, I am treated rather "fatherly"! This is my life, I reckon... I take it with humor, what else.
"It´s a man´s world"....

Alstom is not Siemens, that I learned so far, big LOL.
"There is a difference between British and American English?! What is it?!"
On my explanation: "I don´t care, do as you like!".
OK, Papa.
There are also words you would not expect, oh, help, LOL.

"Papa" also explained (he is Ukrainian, and younger than me, I guess) Russian is like the German we speak (SHG) whilst Ukrainian is like Bavarian language
I learn so much, LOL!!!

Ingo, when he was in South Germany, was called an "arrogant asshole" as he speaks "like the guy from the TV-news".
Yes.
That´s how we speak! 🤣
To be honest.. I think we have it the easy way. We speak as we write. People from the South write like we do but they pronounce it differently - must be hard, no?

Too much at times, as I get infos from him from the front-line and that is ugly, scary and try not to cry. Sometimes I wonder why men always tell me the full truth, thruths a woman does not want to hear. What he saw. OMG. I could hear a hate towards Russians, yet... we are all one people, by theory. I reckon those soldiers have lost the sense of reality, humanity.
He told me "they" even... I cannot write this down, so ugly it is.
There I sit, in front of my four monitors and don´t know what to answer.
Not to make a crying sound.

Never in my life would I have thought I get so close to a war.
🌻💙💛
It must come to an end. But reckon Put#n´s pride is too big.
Tiny men (of a certain kind) are just dangerous. Because their ego is so small it turns plain evil - who poses half naked as president?! On a horse, too. Ridiculous.

Sorry. It´s one thing to follow the news. Another to hear it from a person who was and goes there for real. To hear the voice cracking at times. And then not cry.

But, you know. "Corinna" helps me big right now. If those men could see how I raise eyebrows in disbelief...  I feel old! I feel good! I hope this job works out for me.

Henry 🦁

Yes, Papa.  Don´t  run so fast! I try to dance along!
(Like a man, of course!)
