Our Bones Love Us!

Do you do trick or treat this Halloween?

Hearts have a "lovely" form, as our bones.

A story?
My bones tricked me twice, but we´re good friends now.
My body once really surprised me when a kid ran into my push-bike and next sec I stood in front, right hand on the left bike-bar!
I wore high heeled shoes.

Is it a trick or a treat?

Henry 🦁

Oh, Baby-Henry, you are sooooo scary!!!!

I Eat You Up, I am...

Not sure if graffiti or mural, no "artist" available, I took it near river Oker.

I love my job, but the stress level rises immensly.
Barcelona says it´s our fault, "we" say it´s their fault, we need a solution come December 1st.

Other I might lose my job.
With that the best team I ever worked with.

Ingo has as much stress, we´re not there for one another.
The monster is too big.

Today is a day off and I have to take care of paper-work for a tennant, I´m bad at that.

The monster gets bigger and bigger (there was a The Simpsons-episode on this).

We switched to winter-time, I hate that, too.
I try to see the positive.

It´s Halloween - I´ll try the yummy Pumpkin-Caramel-soap.

Henry 🦁

Our time is limited. Some don´t understand it, Henry. I´ll try to, when the paperwork is done.
Alas. A long weekend... for no-one. Again. And it is "my fault". Not. It´s always two...
I am but sad.
And yes. It´s in the middle of the night here.
I cannot sleep.
Lonely people who still love do not sleep well.

I also join Elle for Halloween today. Have a happy one, if you have it (we don´t really).

Candy-Time!

Ingo bought Halloween-candy for his colleagues.
It was a fail. Un-yummy.

Mine... hmmmm...
The thought of putting a real herring in my mouth is spookiest, though, but then I´m not a seagull. These are super-yummy (and long gone).

The closest we came to Halloween when I was a kindy-kid was St. Martin´s Day.
Also as I leaned now, called "Old Hallowmas Eve"!

A couple of years ago Ingo and I went.
In front of the church nearby there really was... people selling (!!! - isn´t it about sharing?) waffles and then St. Martin showed up - on a pony!
So cute!

The kids were thrilled!
And followed with their laterns as he made his way - red coat included - into town.

Me. 4 years old. We had no LED-lights in the laterns (nor a St Martin or a pony!) - we had real candles.
I was frightened to the brim and YES.
Some dumbheads managed to set the laterns on fire!!!
My Mum also guessed this will happen, was with me and took me home before I could again scream my head off.

No candies!
Not really a tale, but true.

I get no candy no more.

My BIL´s name is Martin and he saved Ingo´s life in 2008.

Henry 🦁

Yes, you would love my sort:

I got the last one. Think about that.

Boots? What Boots?!

Elle´s theme today is Puss in Boots.
Hm.
Never heard of that!
OK - wiki that, it´s a 1697 Italian-French fairy tale. More here.

Italian-French, huh.
We went to Tuscany (where the sketch above is from, it was a 3-D-mural (the cat I added)) - with most of former GDR, most retired guys, it was one of the best holidays ever!

At first  - when Ingo said he´d booked it - I said, are you plain CRAZY?!

The bus driver...

Left: our bus driver - in boots - , my age, right a wee part of our teacher, laughing her head off, Ingo´s age - we had fun!
(She sadly was too close to me for being as whole in the pic)

You know... those guys from East-Germany.. they share their boots!
And we did, too...
Ingo had a cigar, the four of us sat in the mild Italian evening and shared.
This was 2015 and no one thought about what you can "catch".

I also always share drinks with my Brother - we´re all good.

The bus driver... you saw how tall he is... even offered me his swim-trousers (no, thank you, I´m a Wessi, that´s a bit too (large anyways and)  private for me 😉
But thank you. He also took care of the rest of my pizza...

This I ate up myself, though, hmmm, culinary heaven!!!! The queue to the little stand was long for a reason! Sad we only stayed one day there...

We have the apron at home here and took it off when family visited (SIL is a bit prude... well, she has kids, right?!)

I know I might´ve ... not approached the fairy-tale theme from the desired direction.
But  it just came to my mind (maybe I´m a tad... you-know-what-in-boots).

Tuscany is a bit like being in a fairy-tale, it was beauty- and wonderful, we learned so much, saw so much! We had soooo much fun!

Just a lille vacation to a dream land, if you like:

Nonno was in his 90´s and I kinda bet he still works with his family!
In Germany old people are sent to a nursing home. In Italy they live happliy with their families - a bit like in a real fairy tale!

Henry 🦁

We have an "artist" here who faked it for soccer. If you saw that labelled "Braunschweig" - wrong!
Hope he can sleep well. No respect for that dude!

To fun aprons!!! Families and Italy.

Seems like (most) Germans are taller than Italian guys...

We had a Poretti at Guido´s (oldest Pizza place in Braunschweig) yesterday - warm day, we had to sit inside, all seats outside were taken.
But: see (or hear) the positive: We heard them talking! They´re from Sicily and it sounds sooooo nice.

FFO And A Smile

Hey!!! Do you dare to scream at Nicole for FFO?!!! Watch your mouth!

That´s better, ole pal (Ingo´s scanner´s interpretation of my lille sketch).

And since I join also Annie with Smiles: J from erk 🤣

Don´t be a Jerk!!! Just build this darn tram 😂
I really had to laugh going through this document at work.
(I am Documentation/Translation Manager for ALSTOM (railway)).

Now you know what a Jerk is made of!

Henry 🦁

But don´t look like a Jerk whilst doing so, ole boy.
I also join Elle with witch today. Just scroll down, if you like, if you came here directly.

Addendum: As I assume nobody clicks links I embedded Ingo´s comment directly for your convenience 😁

Scotty Ingo, beam me to Jesters now, please!

(Catless) Witch

This is a bitter story. As you can guess a true one.
I´ve had enough of flat sharing, my job was safe, I moved into my very first (one-room only) apartment. The middle apartment on an arbor.

First door.
A black-silver-haired old, miserable, lonely woman.
Door always open, the smell from her apartment, ewwww...

Third day she stopped me and asked if I can run errands for her. I felt sorry and despite it was a longer list, I did (after 8 work hours and 1 1/2 hours of driving).
Her thank you: fish-fingers with mashed potatoes - YUM! NICE!

But. When I saw the kitchen... I had to lie. Said thank you, but I cannot have fish.

We traveled Australia, we lived in "dirt", but this was old, greasy, stinking dirt.
She got mad at me and haunted me and everyone who visited me ever since.

I really had to call the housekeeper, who just said, "oh, no, not again!".

She had a visitor but once. Her Son. Who brought her to a caring home.

We had many an "adventure" with her and can you believe it.
I still felt a bit sorry for her despite all the trouble.

Witches can be mean, but some just grow mean due to loneliness.

I hope for fun witches for your Halloween!

Henry 🦁

It will last till... you´ll find out 😉
I also join Nicole and Annie here. Boo and smile!

Black Cat(s)

We have a stray here - I guess. A bit chubby even and loves a belly-rub from those who are willing to join (me!!!).
I was told cats don´t like belly-rubs but this black beauty does!

I think for "now" it´s the closest I come to petting a cat.

I had a colleague, two black cats (we all talked via MS teams, LOL) and a black chair - very dangerous!!

I join Elle with black cat today.

My Story:
A black cat walking under a ladder... Friday 13th... Lucky events!
My Mum was all in!

Henry 🦁

I thank you all. Sketching became soothing to me, I enjoy it.
Too much new stuff at work (still!) to try out new art-stuff, but I think I´m at it!
I started with stamps, these cats I simply sketched. I owe you!!!

Don´t you egg me 🥚
Click or just scroll down, depending on where you came from, Rain, maybe, then click?

Egg Me (Not)

I´m joining Rain with Trick? or Treat? today.
Germany is still not really into Halloween, but you get some stuff, so... wash your hands - it´s yummy!

Tricking, huh? The SPATULA sure had it´s fun!

Eggs from the market, chives from the balcony.
Yummy cheese from la Provence and you have a yummy, quick meal!
I´m sorry, I sure used some spices but, alas, cannot remember!

I go Jamie Oliver and say: Take what you have! Taste, and enjoy!

Henry 🦁

He smiled to you from the plate :-)

THE POOR BOY!

Don´t nail me on this, it was maybe... 200... I have no idea.

Ingo´d moved out of Granma´s home, I lived in Braunschweig, but every time I came to Ingo for the weekend we visited Granma.

We always were welcomed before having a chance to ring the bell with her ripping the door open and exclaiming, "MY CHILDREN!" ("MEINE KINDER!")
(we lived with her before and took care of her - or she of us?)

"... Ingo... (when these family-members start with pausing I just KNOW it won´t be good!) ... I forgot a pumpkin in the cellar, would you mind bringing it up to the compost-pit?"

Do you hear me giggle?
We stood like soldiers by the door, Granma and I.
She was saying, ".. the POOR boy, the POOR boy!!!!" ("ARMER JUNGE!")

The pumpkin was LOOOONG forgotten, the smell unbearable, his "water" splashing in the dish from side to side and Ingo was making his way gagging to the compost pit.

Happy Halloween soon, eh, don´t  forget a pumpkin somewhere!  🤣

Ingo really did manage not to puke! Chapeau for that!

Henry 🦁

Take care of your pumpkins, OK?

T STands For OAT?

My entry to Elizabeth´s T-Day - a drink out of hell, more to that later...

Journal - anyone join me sometime?
It really is... "soothing" and you know what you´ve done!
Time is running so fast, days speed by, this helps me.

You think same ole same but with this you get the high- or down-lights (I spare you the latter 😉)

Monday: Work and Ingo´s bread, that was all.
Well, nearly. Two more street finds. As if I don´t have enough books!!!!
And I got some yummy (fast) food. ATM too much work for proper cooking.

Tuesday: I pimped the fast food and really had trouble to not make a second batch!
But was left hungry, so, since we have a new Miele-Microwave I defrosted two chili-cheese cookies. And cried.
Does chili get hotter when you freeze and reheat it???

No wonder our W back then took but one bite, holy-moly, that thing was HOT!!!
2 sessions with D.

Wednesday: Crumbled the second cookie into the Kaasspatzen  or Käsepätzle (South-German noodles). Still hot, LOL. And the week before Ingo told me into buying another bunch of these meanies, now what to do?! One tiny chili and a whole milkshake gets hot to the brim!

Thursday: After a weird dream about a special document Teamleader set up a meeting upon it,finally.
I was at that in August!
We found no solution!
Two sessions with D.

Friday: Teamleader invited me 8:30 to solve the darn problem. Nope. Lunch-time we gave up, our "Mt Everest", as I jokingly called it, is too high...

I asked him to talk to the manager come Monday.

3:something he asked me to translate another document. OK, was a short one, but really, on a Friday?! (I start at 06:00 am and there is logistic behind that, too).
And why do we have a translation company? 🤣🤣🤣

Well, we´re a team, right, give and take.
No more power for sport.

Weekend:
Saturday -  nice sleep in and I got quality paper to sketch on.
And I got Charlotte´s Web!!!!
It was high up, so I had to ask a guy in the store (Halloween-deco). He grabbed the one I pointed at and said, "oh, no, this was opened before, I get you a good one!"

Yay to nice men!!!!

The sun was shining - a  good day to be outside.

Later American Football. Sadly with three German dumbheads  commenting.
They think they are so funny. They are not.
And let´s not talk about their hair- and beard-cuts.
Sound off most of the time. And then I switched to another program even.
Every year they get dumber it seems.

Sunday:
Maus and new fairy tale. Sketching an´ stuff, time for myself, so needed.
The job is... exhausting.
The team is wonderful!!!

But I had no holiday since November last year and I think it shows now.
I´m tired. Despite the sport I picked up on.

Art-wise I wish for this next year:

And food-wise... on the run, mostly, this was yummy 😊

Who eats this in one batch?!

Henry 🦁

Oh, big boy, back then times were harder, don´t be a kitty!!!
Look around, we do VERY well!
