FFO And Smiles And Back To The Past

Bare with me, I had no time to sketch.
It was a tough week, work-wise.
Customer out of the blue wants... it´s too long and I was on a two-day-seminar not being able to work for the project.
So again just pics from the past - some faces for Nicole´s FFO.

At least I met some nice colleagues in person yesterday - a group is more fun than alone, right!

My (much older) cousins and I in my parent´s house were put in the shower, as we had no bathtub. We had fun anyways.

And for Annie´s Smiles...

These two taught me to cook and bake!
With which I join Gilenna...
Pic #1 from 1999, second recently.
Sometimes I hate FB, you do something else, the page reloads and you never find it back, but I found this, showing the two working together - so sweet it MUST make you smile! Those are REAL MEN! "This is what we´re looking for, Brothers and Sisters!" 🧡
And when the former trainee ends with, "Well done, Gennaro".... awwww...
ACK. Sometimes FB links to the correct video and sometimes not.  With luck you see the one I actually picked.... FB throws fits like Blogger now, huh...

So now some funnies, OK?

I always have to look up what Celsius is in Fahrenheit... Why would life be easy...

... and a great weekend (whatever your weather - I love rain)...

Let´s Play (Please No)

I think this might´ve been 1979, I´m the one with the red-white striped t-shirt-arms and as usual the smallest. We are all one age. And still smiling. Later...

Or maybe I hid my face cause even back then I hated my pic being taken.
Either way, this is what I thought of Rain´s prompt "Squares".
I can´t remember if us kids made it through to the end, just let me tell you, being a chess figure is the most boring thing for a 7-year old!!!

We have two sets of chess, The Simpsons and Star Trek Voyager, I even got myself a book on it, but....  I think this event back then ruined my interest in chess for a lifetime...

Food wise, Ingo made Labskaus.

It´s a traditional dish from Northern Germany.
Cook potatoes, roughly mash them, put into the pan with broken corned beef, salt, pepper, bayleaf. Serve with a fried egg, gherkin and beetroot.
Some add a rollmops. Not for me.

Some put the beetroot into the mix - I once did cause Mom didn´t give instructions other than "don´t forget the beetroot!" - then it really looks like puke and Dad threw a fit.

Other than Mom, who, in WWII fled from Königsberg to near Hamburg and was a trainee on island Helgoland, ate it like that from a food-stand in Hamburg from a  barf bag on the way to the island to shock tourists. Especially in winter, when it´s steaming.
Warm puke from a barf bag, hmmmmm.... it´s a rocky ride.
Bro puked his heart out whilst I ate happily my licorice...

It was too much for one meal, so....

 Do you like chess?

Kein Ding Für´n Ing

Sorry to bother you just yet again with "my" company.
We´re not only "Technology to trust" but I just LOVED this:

Sadly this event was far away from Braunschweig, so I didn´t visit to take a proper pic (this is from LinkedIn) and meet the colleagues, but this slogan means colloquially: "No problem for an engineer" as in "No prob for an eng" or such.

My "Mothership-project" goes on for a little while and this time I´ll stick to 8 hours daily only.
By golly, really. I sorted, got translated and proofread nearly 200 files in 15 days (and some files were around 80 pages) and just learned the trains are on their way to Olso in Norway only this week, hence the files are needed end of next week/begin of the week after that.

I could´ve delivered a much better quality.

But.
It goes to Norway.
The people DO maintenance, they don´t hack on every word and grammar like the guys in Frankfurt, Germany, did. Germans are awful. I may say that, I am German.

I´m off soon to ESE as I have a so-called "present-seminar" for two days.
Will exchange spices with admin mT 😁
And bring Oppa/Granddad (my old Lenovo) for a checkup.
Will be nice to meet the guys in person again!

And meet likely new ones.
That´s how I met my now-friend fK, in a present-seminar.

I hardly can imagine how it was like to be in the office in person every day!
COVID brought us some good!
No more a car, driving, wasting time, money and risking life!

This is for Tom´s signs2.

Whom I certainly join, despite the way too cold weather 13C/55F with this and dream of proper temps:

Well, Henry, you probably have to move a tad faster!

T Stands For Happy-Angry-Happy-Sad

With this evil, rude raspberry vitamin boosted juice (Ingo brought the whole series) I join Elizabeth´s T today.

The journal:

Monday: Watched Kokowääh II I found in the street. One guy is Austrian. Boy... hard to understand!
Can imagine it is the same between Ukrainians and Russians. It´s a bit hard, but if you make an effort it works.
Why can´t they... stupid Russian media-lies.
Kokowääh - a smart, fun movie. With Til Schweiger and his daughter. Recommended (watch Part #I first).
The other dad wants to buy a lamp for the shower. The assistant in the store is a Muslim woman and he requests a "Dusch-Lampe" (shower = Dusche), which sounds like "Du Schlampe", which is a bitch. He gets beaten up, repeating this over and over again. 🤣 I wonder how often they had to repeat this to get it on film!!! "Duuuuschlampe!" My belly hurt from laughing!

Tuesday: Waiting for the customer to move.
Cooking-tips from mT and fK. Falafel ready to go for tomorrow!
Plans for Friday settled. It´s becoming maaaybe a "tradition" with our Friday-lunch-meetings.
Long time I had a female friend here in Germany.
Did some cleaning... what else to do?
Teamlead knows I am "on hold". Again. From 200% down to 0...

Wednesday: 06:57 took off to REWE for Ingo´s tomatoes. Boy, sooooo beautiful! Warm and heavy rain! I LOVE that!
perplexity AI explains, "A pluviophile is someone who loves rain and finds joy and peace of mind during rainy days. The term is derived from the Latin word "pluvial" meaning rain, and the Greek suffix "-phile" meaning lover or lover of."

Admin mT sure gave me tips what to do with too much falafel-"dough".  "My ESE" is some company! We help each other in so many ways! Falafel-soup is on soon! I know what to do!
I may repeat myself, but... great colleagues!
Cruncher... 3 sessions - I´m getting the hang of it! Better be careful if you want a handshake, I´m getting strong!
I learned: There is "The German Autobahn experience" - people pay a lot of money to legally speed. No wonder I don´t wanna drive no more, huh.

Thursday: Spontaneous "present-"meeting with my T! Was fun and I got my book back, too.
We hugged!!! We never did this before!!! Felt good :-)
He thinks of early retirement - sounds like a good plan!
Customer mS said very likely the project goes on.
Longer chat with fK.

Friday: BIG disappointment. Went out to bring Peanut (our squirrel) walnuts.
ALL... ALL ripe wood-strawberries eaten up. Birds? There were at least 30 strawberries.
Just the other day I´d checked and they were still sitting too tight to be eaten.
Now I wonder... put up nets? Cannot have been a human. SO disappointed. Angry.

I have bird-food out, I have food for the squirrel(s) out...
My T said: Weapons ... I´m on my way!

Put out three boxes "as pressies/for free" in the street - hope someone enjoyed. All was gone on Saturday. Not all were happy, we have a new neighbor, an as#hole, see here....

Lunch break with fK - gave her a box full of unused art-stuff for the kids - hey, I get rid of things in a good way, right?
And then wonderful rain, lighting and thunder!

Got Happy Mail from dear Kathy!!!

Later GRIMM.... Rosalie approaches softly her colleague and.. he JUMPS.
Yupp, same as hours earlier when I surfed on my phone, waiting for fK and she softly touched my shoulder - I nearly threw my work phone away, LOL.

Please, peeps, talk to us loudly instead... From a a distance.

Weekend: Saturday: Near to a heart attack (OK, no, but it was not nice!!!) - my folder 2024 was gone. All pictures, all scans, all pics I took of our food over the years for inspiration when Ingo asks, "what to cook this weekend?".
Then I thought... Ask Explorer-search and phew, got it all back. Made me thinking...
Photography back then and today...
Do you use a cloud for your data? I have one backup, that I updated...
Or just imagine Blogger shuts down. I blog since 2006, so many memories.
I´ll google how to make a copy for safety. Or did you already and have a tip?
Made a wonderful falafel-soup of leftovers. To my admin mT!!!! 🥰
Sunday: Löwenzahn, Die Maus and a wonderful fairy tale, The Wishing-Table, the Gold-Ass, and the Cudgel in the Sack by the Brothers Grimm - for children and beautiful.
Then Sister Act. Quite a lesson again.
Later GRIMM - for adults and sadly I´m coming to an end...

We could´ve had fun and even a BBQ but Ingo decided to do his way without me.

Munchy:

More on this next T-Day 🥰

Henry´s food-sister 🦁

Made of yellow tree dicks 🤣
Happy T-Day to you.

Money Makes The World... Hate

It is what we do in our "hood" - things we don´t need anymore and that are good as new we put in boxes, attach a note: "For free".
I got the scarf together with shoes "for free" cause I bought two pair of shoes.
But I´m not a scarf-fan.
Never used, price-tag still on.

Some rich guys must´ve moved in somewhere nearby. He (I just assume it´s a man) put my last empty (!!!!) box in front our door and "asked" to not leave "trash in front of their house".
Must´ve been the guy with the dog, early morning, 05:20 or such, watching me.
Why early morno? So his dog can sh#t in places and he doesn´t have to  pick up after him.

I feel very sorry for him. He should move. He will find other boxes as that´s a place where many people pass by. And he lives in a house with many other peeps who do NOT feel his way.
I felt so sad.
Money changes people.

And, hey, watch out for more dog-poo.
I feel sad, disappointed and angry. Mostly sad.
I found so much good in the street, and left so much, it´s a give and take - AND IT NEVER IS TRASH!!!! What an arrogant, rich, as#hole.

Sorry, this needed to get out.

Yes, I COULD put it all up on eBay or wherever, invest time etc, etc, pack it up, bring to the post office, blah-blah-blah.
Good for environment, ha-ha-no.

I still shake my head in disbelief, typing this.

Sad how our neighborhood changes. If we hadn´t bought the condo I might´ve moved.
Sad, I feel so sad. Dis-appointed...

I am glad I do not know who that "hero" is - I might leave a note, too... one I would need to put a lot of thought in to make it sound "fine". Here I just say "rich as#hole" and waste no more thought.
Why hero? If he - correctly - assumed it was me... why not ring the bell and talk to my face?
Chicken?

I... have to believe in humanity.

Henry you find when you scroll down and he is beautiful, too!
Or, if you came from T-Day you find him here

Swim Or Ride?

Back to where Ingo found murals, forgot his cam and we had to go together again (luckily!)
Train-ride or...

These are all from Nasim Naji and he created this Henry 🦁!

Oh, and don´t you "love" those darn e-scooters?

Giants Are EVERYWHERE!

Our Monday Mural-host Sami took me to Subi after we visited Caversham Wildlife park back in February this year.

First 2015 (see my background pic or here) now some still ones are there see more here, it says:
"A beautiful wooden Giant has been spotted in Subiaco! The Giant, named Bille Bob, is part of an Australian-first exhibition by world-renowned Danish artist Thomas Dambo called the Giants of Mandurah. Both an artist and environmental activist, Dambo's artistic practice celebrates the diversity, beauty and importance of the natural world, using recycled and locally sourced materials in his creations. The exhibition features a number of Dambo's whimsical wooden creatures installed in secret locations throughout the City of Mandurah, plus one in Subiaco, who is a little lost, for visitors to discover. This is a free-to-view outdoor exhibition."

Amazing work, huh?
