T STands For YeT AnoTher Summer- Week

 

Ingo was feeling like Summer-wine-time. Italy, Tuscany... it was evening already.

This is for Elizabeth´s T. Yes, no proper glasses...

Monday: Rivers in Germany so low, it´s crazy. And we can do nothing about it.

29 750 kids last year here got into a push-bike accident cause they don´t know the rules. How.Can.That.Even.Be?! Act!!!!

Back better, leg on the way up, too! Yippeeeee...

Work? Holiday-time :-(

Cloudy and warm, very good!

 

 

 

Tuesday: Summer? Foot still swollen, leg hurts.

Good thing: The sun shines through the window in so at least my arms warm up!

 

 

Wednesday: Got up when Ingo left, shortly after 04:25 a.m., and was soooooo darn awake. Leg and foot pumping. Surfed around, went back to bed and FELL ASLEEP!

I need to work, really. This is no life.

Normally I´d went for an early morning walk but... 

Solar partial eclipse soon, aw, well.

I was at VW last time and it sure was surreal.

All birds got confused and shut up - SILENCE! 

LOL, TV, "why do I need that special glasses - on an ordinary evening it doesn´t burn my Iris, either!" - To Dad, I miss you.

 

Thursday: I take a shower. DOOR BELL! TWICE! Threw some clothes on - our postie. I said, sorry, just took a shower, he said, you got clothes on quick!  And grinned.

I sure will not open naked, LOL. 

TV-news: 65 years ago today.... "No one plans to build a wall", said the GDR-regime. 

Some young people still see East and West-Germany. 

 

 Here in Braunschweig... a piece of the Berlin wall.

 

Do you still see that?! I have (had) 4 very good friends from "the East"! (two I lost).

As my friend says: "There are friends for a reason, friends for a season, friends for a lifetime.".... and yes, she says that in English as at ALSTOM the language is English, not French.

 

 

Friday: The customer had a push-bike accident. Talks hopefully Monday. I.Get.Nervous! At least they let me know. Friend in hard trouble, I try to help, if only via WhatsApp. 

 

Weekend: Saturday: Nice evening on the balcony - Ingo created a crate!!!

Monday: Another great Summer´s day and Ingo is supposed to work less and just didn´t come home.

Of course I did not call him - what if he´s in the car?! 

Working less was for July - my bad. Boy, I was sick in fear!

But: I looked up his company for in case I call there - here is the English link - if you are interested. Pretty cool.

He came home safe and sound. 

And we shared another mini sparkling wine - SUMMER! 

 

 

 

Tuesday: Our neighbor, who manages the bulky waste popped in to get our runaway-sun-brolly. There we both stood, barefoot, LOL.

Nice to see young people these days do this, too.

Runaway is maybe not the correct word. Rather thermals.

Ingo and I sat on the balcony, brolly "secured" but since this thing was huge it suddenly took off till third floor and bumped into the garden! 

We have smaller ones now and neighbor mY took not only the brolly but also some more stuff in one walk all up to the roof. To being young again.... 

To WhatsApp! Great tool. He also offered help with the transport.

 

Wednesday: Netherlands: Wildfires. Rivers Rhine, Germany, low water. Elbe, Weser ... same. 

Went to recycle glass. Aggressive wasp, went to the next container and some dumb-as# had left a "white-glass-shoe" on the ground I could not see, I fell and hurt myself.

I sat there like an old woman, wondering how to get up, bleeding all over. I managed but the bleeding... for hours. If it was a bottle, reckon it´d rolled away but a "shoe"....

People: Always look before you step down somewhere! Reckon, as it´s Summer I´ll have to tell and warn more often cause... miniskirt. 

 

  

Thursday:  Leg hurts but no inflammation. Big thanks to Ingo!!!

I think it cut my muscle, though, I can hardly walk. My luck. 

I don´t dare to go anywhere, so Ingo got me the best fruit salad.

How dumb can I be. There are mindless peeps all around, ALWAYS look down, always watch your step, lesson learned. I hope.

Friday: So frustrating. Due to the leg I slept in a weird position and.. back is back.

It so reminds me of the 7 months with my stupid arm that set me aside. I cannot force anything, either.

My dentist called - buhuuuuu... September I have to go. I feel fine, I feel fine!!!! 

 

Weekend: Saturday: Summer on the balcony, carefully.

 

Sunday: It´s getting crazy. Usually no trucks on Sundays, but since rivers have so low water.... Trucks and trains transport goods today.

Stay Cool

Well, that day was on June 11th - but Summer only came last week - on Wednesday.

Since then it is at least warm - my "flowers" ....  grow but no blooms yet, it was just too cold.

Crazy when all around countries are on fire due to the heat.

At least that way German firefighters can go there and help, I am happy they do. 

 

Though...  from the Netherlands fire is spreading  over here, too (far away from where we are).

Monday: Oh.... Really... finally it warms up and in the TV-News: Tips how to sleep "in the heat at night". Ja. I sure do need that!

 

And AI... not so intelligent suggesting to translate German to English for me. I really had to laugh about that. It came from WhatsApp where 95% of my friends and their messages are German.

 

"Like the lion in the castle square" - that is the motto how they want to save the brewery Wolters here. I hope they manage! What would Braunschweig be without Wolters (since 1734) and their Märzen?!

Workers after the job done go and get themselves a Wolters on the way home - yes, in Germany this is allowed. I once in Cologne on a hot Summer´s night wanted a beer for watching TV in my hotel-room. Before I could say a word - plop! Open, so I had to drink in the street. Well, like everybody else. And no - no one is drunk!!!!

 

 

Tuesday: 20 minutes early at the ear-doc. Closed doors. After a while we were a group of 7! A man passing by shouted, "hey, all you - get well soon!" That is Braunschweig 😍

One nice dude, Ingo´s age, we had a nice chat - was even earlier than me despite being behind me in row.

He was one month early - and took it with humor. 

I am angry on myself, though. My doc wore a beautiful summer-dress and I failed to say a word. Usually I do, but I was so tense... 

TV-News: We might get 40+C/104+F, huhhhhh scary. No. Yippeeeeeee.... So far 29C/84F! Balcony-time!!!

 

Wednesday: Sitting outside on the camping chair was a BAD idea. Back hurts like hell.

fE had no time today.

They speak of the hottest June in Germany EVER in the TV-news.  And I am stuck inside, buhuu!!! 

Buhuu, Toy Story 3 is done. Still have 4 but 5 will take so long to appear on DVD. 

 

 

Thursday: News: Deutsche Bahn offers free heat cancellation for the rest of June!

Rails are not made for the heat, aircon might fail etc etc.

Not good... 

Other eating gets better.

 

 

Friday: HOT, yippeeeee... But my back and Ingo´s hand.... 

It is very frustrating.

No balcony-time. 

 

Weekend: Saturday: I get tired from all the sitting and lying. And I can´t go on the balcony cause the chair will hurt my back even more. And to top that:

 

 

... "felt 42C/107F". 

That´s not fair!!!
Ordered crates of beer cause... back, hand,...  the dude was happy when I gave him a fiver and even happier when I said we live first floor! But he´d happily bring it up to 3+floor! Did I mention it´s not only hot but due to river Oker nearby HUMID.

It was nearly 5 pm and he said he still has 7 customers to deliver to. Tough job!!!!!  

 

Sunday: I enjoyed the steamy heat inside. Ingo cooled himself down with a dehumidifier - no - I don´t want that! Cold temps will be back soon enough!!! I am thankful for the heat!

That is what my SIL thought! She looked at me as if I was crazy... I later presented her with a mini-bottle - she was not amused.

Of course it is the Magnifest that takes place in quarter Magni.

 

As the music is always superloud we went early for burger and beer only, though.

National Jürgens Brauerei, of course.

Founded 1883 they were a huge brewery, closed 1977 and re-opened 2017 as craft beer brewery, you can read more here (German).

We had CRABS (CRAft beer BraunSchweig), though and nice chats with the young people (OMG did I write this, "young people"?!).

One of the girls turned 30 that Sunday and told us about her time in Sydney.
