Beautiful Halloween
The sun was going down when I came up to the House of Science.
On the way back I saw this young family - I was surprised the little stroller took Daddy´s weight!
But, maybe he was but a ghost, huuuu.... ;-)
So much for Halloween.
Yes, you can buy deco, but actually it hasn´t really arrived here - no trick or treat-ing kids, just teens vandalizing.
We didn´t buy any sweets, hence.
We only see the beauty here:
Still I certainly wish you all a very spooky, fun Halloween!

Bicycle Race
There´s a new shop around the corner, a hospital for bikes.
"Upcycling" sure is true for this one!
What do you prefer, if you can - car or bike?
I prefer my feet actually ;-)
Lion of the day:
It´s indicating a place with help for seniors.
Hmmm. I do know heaps who do not wear glasses. I do, though.
See the bike coming in from the right? It´s a race ;-)

T Stands for Another (Old) Yum
My Mum always said I cannot cook.
I found a glass of expired red cabbage (I cleared out our red cupboard), checked online about spices, added some cinnamon, too (thanks again to Jamie Oliver, who always suggests you go your own way, and I thought juniper berries go well with cinnamon) ... and sick Hubby woke up, saying it smells so yummy, he wants some, too.
Together with expired dumplings, but he said he´s sure he wants to try!
(No hot oil involved!)
He loves sauce, so he had it with sauce, mine is like that, with - in oil fried dumplings.
To be honest. Was OK, smelled better than it tasted, but Hubby went all the time, "yummm, just like Grandma made it!" This was the very first time I really cooked for another person. And he loved it :-)
Made two meals, too :-) - as in two meals for two persons.
Drinks, oh, that´s ironic, here goes:
This´ll be my job today... recycle (and buy new). Cross your fingers the "faster" machine will work...
Two more 60-90 seconds drawings from back then:
Thanks to you I digitalized them, otherwise they´d rot underneath our swing!
Oh, the cushion?
Self made. Her hubby died at age 42 of heart attack, she´s there with her twin girls and broke up with me (I tried so often, but I´m no trash can, either).
Well, here is another sketch, I remember this was really a tad hectical to do...
Lion of the day:
My lille cooking sure seemed to have been kind of a time warp-event for Hubby :-)
As he always warps back to the early 90´s when I followed a rule. I bought a small can of Sauerkraut (with pineapple) and it said "heat for 5-10 minutes". Was crunchy and not edible. I lived in Hildesheim back then (at uni) and was so dumb to tell him on the weekend. Ever since he comes up with that darn story, teasing me!!
I heated the red cabbage for over 30 minutes, let it cool down and reheated it - HA, there you are, Ingo!
This is for Elizabeth and Bleubeard´s "T Stands For Tuesday".

Yum, Yum, What Is Your Choice?
I´m taking you again to Leederville, to Tapas Bar Pinchos.
No hint to the artist, sadly...
One more detail:
This is no ad, we didn´t even had anything there, but look how happy one of the chefs looks like!
Sadly seafood, as healthy as it is.... not on my top list...
How about you, yay or nay?

Here Comes...
Well, bikes, huh? I prefer to walk - more time to take pics!
Here is a pic of a neighbourhood kid, ohhh, a lovely boy!
Guess he was told to not cross the road by himself and he really waited forever for his Mum and Sibling to join :-) So cute.
Well, see title, here comes... NATURE!
What a weird autumn! See the "dead" leaves right underneath...
Or is it normal and I never had an eye for it?
Well here comes... a SUNflower even...
... and with that...
Hmmm, happy song, right?
Lion of the day:
Despite being sick with flu I went outside and got all the beauties :-)
And.. beware!!! I´ve heard "’Tis the season for spilling red wine.`"... so be careful :-)
And, ohhh, help! Tried to call my Brother for a Birthday-call yesterday. He worked, I got the Big Niece instead. She´s 9. Since August. Like an adult, it´s frightening!!!
Wasn´t there just a baby in my lab, warming me on a hot summer´s day???
And now we can joke and talk and all???
We ended the call with "I love ya", how sweet is that?!
I try to be positive. We´re back to darn "winter-time".
Is there anything good about switching this darn hour twice a year? Bet my Brother, like any family with young kids, really "loves" this.
What do you think or do you belong to the lucky ones who do not even have it?

Old?
We´re still sick with flu here, so you only get some "old" September shots of Alte Waage, "old scale", with St Andreas in the background.
Oh, when I still worked for my old company (finally, after 16 years driving to Wolfsburg) there was a homeless person lying there in the early mornings for months. So drunk/on drugs he didn´t mind the hard stones, no cushion, nothing - one day he was just gone.
It was sad.
But... call the police for help??? I´ve tried that - without success...
The Alte Waage was destroyed on Oktober 15th in 1944 and later reconstructed.
It is the highest timber frame construction in the city.
Ingo took English lessons there :-) - (it was nuts, sadly).
And yes, goods were scaled in there from 1534 on.
Old? YES! As FIL always says: You get old or you die. Later I´ll call my "little Brother" who turns a year older today! :-)
Lion of the day:
A t-shirt I managed not to buy!

On My Head
Well, guess I´d have to lie down for that to happen, falling on my head, those drops - and excuse me, if you got an earworm again, here goes!
Sadly I´m not so free, wearing glasses... but I still have the happiness when raindrops fall on my head :-)
If I could only say, "nothing´s worrying me"... (but who really can)
You see how strong rain is, huh, as if to say, "HA!!" to the driver the drops stick to the place they were removed from during the drive :-)
And despite autumn really, really is here...
... the rain still helps the kids of summer to stay for a while longer :-)
Lion of the day taking care of the flowers:
I love me some rain :-)

They Throw Pee!
Oh, my goodness.
I went to the tax office cause I had a question. The nice lady in front sent me to room 3, but no one was in.
I know the guy, he´s really nice, a young Dad (yes, they can be nice in this place).
I sat down, waiting with my kindle on.
A man showed up with some funny papers, looking for my guy!
I said, he´s not in at the moment, and he went, "oh, shoot, I just have to bring this in.
It´s for the prostitutes."
Hmmm, OK....
(Karma, I let him go in first)
I said, I really want to visit Bruchstraße, such nice architecture, I´ve heard!
He went: "Don´t. You´re a woman, you´re not welcome there. They have cups filled with pee they´ll throw at you.".
So... It´s not only the police showing up when kids or women enter the red light district, it´s pee, also!
Sometimes I think I step into a parallel universe, really!
By golly!! I have no intention whatsoever to "steal" the guys, I just wanna see the architecture!
But even Ingo, on my request, rushed through only, all eyes on him!! Two lame pics only, taken secretly.
Is it like that in your place, also?
In Hamburg women are "allowed", or rather tolerated.
I wonder also: What about lesbians? We are such a free western world, "tolerating" everyone and I am not allowed to take pics of the architecture!!
Lion of the day:
And that man talked so easily about it, too! Didn´t lower his voice or such and treated me like... just a human being, giving me a pee-warning :-)
Are the women childish? No, I think children would not act like that!
What do you think? It´s a very old business, too, you just cannot deny it... so, what.
This is an official place, the women there do it because somehow they want to (I certainly know there are real, real bad "work places" with kids, even, too...).
By golly, cups filled with pee... I still shake my head in disbelief!

Let´s Roam Free!
Oh, what would happen if this was true, what do you think?
It´s just a shop, though, relax :-)
No explanation to the green moustache, sadly...
But this counts as Lion of the day, right?
Taking part in Tom´s "Signs 2" again.
