You Have A Choice

I could´ve simply shared this on facebook but I think it´s too important (for me) to do just that.

I want to have this as a reminder if I or hopefully we get old.

This nearly blind 92-y-o (new widow) has 5 simple rules on how to be happy and this excerpt really spoke to me, maybe you agree (italic by myself, not the author).

"Each day is a gift, and as long as my eyes open I’ll focus on the new day and all the happy memories I’ve stored away, just for this time in my life."

"Old age is like a bank account, you withdraw from what you’ve put in. So, my advice to you would be to deposit a lot of happiness in the bank account of memories Thank you for your part in filling my Memory bank. I am still depositing."

See the rules here.

What that pic means?
Well we had lots of that juice when travelling Australia in 1999 and lucky thing we did!
In the middle of nowhere (I even think it was on Aboriginal land, on the Mereenie Tour) our exhaust pipe broke loose.
Ingo fixed it with an empty can of those :-)

Memories, right?

This, too, was 1999. The first race is all the guys who drive at full speed to Birdsville for the big OZ-party (which was very boring to us).
The reason Windorah has so many public loos!

This is Windorah, btw, 1995.

And here:

In 1999 again.

Certainly we have gathered beautiful memories not only in Australia, but heaps of them come from there and esp from those two long journeys.

Remember to always keep filling your Memory bank!

Hi Iris!
We always have a choice, but unfortunatelly, somemtimes we choose to only store the bad ones.
But as long as we live, we have an opportunity to change that!
I've never been to Australia, but it looks beautiful and fun!
:)

Hi Paula,
that´s true, we tend to remember the bad things in life. But with that knowledge we can work against it. Australia is beautiful and fun - you really should give it a go! :-)

A great tip Iris to keep filling our memory banks. I'm pretty positive and try to remember the good times and not to dwell on the few bad things that have happened. Don't think I've ever seen vegetable juice in a can.

Oh, lucky you. My Mum used to say I´m a pessimist, I´d say I´m a realist
You´ve never seen sucha juice? Well maybe we bought it outside WA? It was really yummy!
