Show And Tell (Not)
Same procedure as every year, James it is, kinda, every fresh, new year inventory takes place.
In this case it meant that people had to come in but could not work since inventory was too slow.
Which kinda resulted in a Show and Tell aka Ingo brought his sewing machine to work to shorten my trousers :-)
T was very bemused, he said, a book, yes, something to knit maybe, but a whole sewing machine?!
What was the weirdest thing you brought to work on such a no-work-day?
Is Show and Tell common in your place? Here it´s not practised, actually I only know it from Aussie friends. One of them as kid brought a bomb from WWII to school (without the parent´s knowledge) and hence a whole SWAT-team arrived. "Fun times"!
And with this the three little things I am thankful for (cause Jeanie is right: no matter how tiny, positive things are worth to be remembered):
The trousers are ready to wear, I had a nice chat with my Dr.´s receptionists and at the pharmacy I had excellent service.
Lion of the day. This was in my first own apartment (note the cute belly-button).

I can just imagine when Ingo arrived with a sewing machine.. very enterprising of him and a happy result for you 😉 No show and tell at work but always at school, my grandchildren went back to Sydney after Christmas with a full term's worth of show and tell goodies 😀
I don't think I ever experienced a no work day. The nearest thing was the big clean up of the marketing store - cleaning out all the old brochures and unwanted merchandise. It amazed me how fast people in the office swooped on the old merchandise.
Grace, yes, another (female) colleague cut off the too long sleeves of her work coat and asked Ingo to sew it properly, too :-)
Oh, yes, I can imagine your grandchildren have loads for show and tell :-)
Joan Elizabeth we had some of those days, too, when servers break down, internet isn´t available... technology can make you stop.
We never had a clean up, though... but I can imagine that people like to get rid of old stuff.
So lovely to have someone who can shorten your trousers for you. I tend to trip o mine! Show and tell -- here only for the kids in school, except when I was working we were always bringing things we wanted to show to others, or at least telling about them, just nothing formal!
The title was just a joke :-)
Here we do not have this at all, not even in school. Which is sad, it teaches you at a young age to speak "in public".
Oh, yes, I am glad Ingo can do sew!
I only know of "show and tell" at school.
Lucky you that Ingo can sew for you.
We did not have show and tell during our days, not very sure now.
I think we only really had show and tell in probably the first three grades in school.
Sami, that was a joke! ;-)
They could not work, so people brought in stuff to do and in Ingo´s case it was sewing, so.
magiceye, no, we neither and still not now.
William, yes, I think so, we don´t have it at all.
That's a nice photo of Ingo
All the best Jan
Thank you!
