After my ALSTOM-project is on hold... I´m an explorer / tester from Monday on on the ESE-database on Project Management that moves to a web-based platform.
I work for a GREAT company.
I was suggested to take our ....
Perth-holiday as project!!!
I am allowed to have 6 WEEKS of holidays IN A ROW come February for Perth!!!
That means!!!!!
I can do research in my WORK-TIME!!! (my real research is from 2019 and then Corinna aka COVID hit)
How come I am SO LUCKY???
I am afraid some hammer falls on me and all was but a dream...
See.... Whilst my colleagues freeze their butts off in Germany, we... brave up...
(Pic taken by our Monday-Mural host Sami)
Volkswagen threw me out in a nasty way quick after I worked as external for 16 years.
"Mothership" (CGS), as Jeanie referred to, kept me as long as possible in these hard times.
SIEMENS gave me a two-weeks-time-span voluntarily out of being nice but "Mothership" Brunel threw me out in a sec.
"Mothership" ESE said it is THEIR duty to find me a project and co-teamleader knew of one who was "on hold" for FOUR WHOPPING MONTHS before a new project was found!!!
He/she got "helping-jobs", she herself went through this as well, now me.
Hehe,
side-note, co-teamleader, who is much younger than me, thought I´m much
younger than I am and not due to childish behavior but due to my looks -
happy day!)
Perth, I can do RESEARCH on my job!!!!
OK, I´ll be testing on Usability and such. This, I learned on the run at Volkswagen.
One place I know we will go: Freo Markets, Wendy Bink´s Stand where we find art from her and her colleague like this:
I
do think society has changed and maybe young peeps, fresh from uni are
off worse than us old dudes with loads of work experience.
Did I by chance fall into the "PERFECT TIME"?
Let´s see how it goes...
I certainly would feel bad to do real research.
Or... will I? Maybe someone can use my info.
Ingo was asked by a colleague, too, about what to do "in Australia"...
Henry 🦁
Ack, half of 2023 is over...

...GREAT news, Iris.
That is good news.
That's good news and I bet you are counting the weeks (or maybe days) until Perth. Now that I've been home a few weeks I am starting to think about my next trip...but no plans. Sometime I think having the plans is as fun as the trip itself. Happy July to you Iris. Hugs-Erika
Tom, well, it´s just a mini-project, but yes, great!!
____
William, yes.
____
Erika, LOL, I plain hate planning! So it will be work after all... and so I won´t feel too bad... hugs
____
Black Knight, thank you.
Just read your previous post too. Great news Iris. So many people are now able to work remotely, wish I had a job where I could do that too!
Yes the cactus is still there.
At Matagarup bridge you can now climb it and then come down on a zipline, just for the brave of course, lol.
Good on you! Best wishes going ahead!
Sami, yes, it´s a "gift" to work from home! The time I save. I don´t risk my life on the road. I don´t need a car with all it´s running costs, no fuel,, no parking space...
And I don´t miss a thing!
Glad the cactus is still there and nope. I will sure not climb! But interesting for the brave ones, hope Ingo does not read this! ;-)
Magiceye, they seem to work!

Eileen, I´ll try to keep your meme in mind :-)
Please, do visit Perth, it´s SO beautiful, so much to do and if you have time the Outback is just around the corner
Dito, happy weekend and a great new week!

Lavender Dreamer, thank you and yes, do travel to Perth, it has charm, is vibrant and you can be in nature in no time, too!

Christine, thank you.
You have found a good company, Iris.
I remember the cactus well from Grace's blog. I miss her.
Yes, very good company.
Yes, I miss Grace, too. I hope to meet her when we´re there...
She said she would...
It's always fun making plans!
Lucky you, to me it´s stress...
Great news is always nice to receive.
Yes, Bill. Life could be worse...
So great to read that things are looking up for you. After all you have been through the last few years, it will be such a pleasure to have Nice Things to look forward to and enjoy :)
That is good news.
Happy July Wishes.
All the best Jan
Hi Iris ~~ Thank you for visiting my Zebra. I hope this job change will turn out being really great for you. The job changes for mine, always they were good when things are balanced.
..
Oh yes, you are welcome to come back, I would like that. Right now I am posting on two different blogs, both mostly on Fridays. They are
http://jimmiehov.blogspot.com/ (where you visited)
and
http://jimmiehov6.blogspot.com/ (Photo and Poem Place - I try to write poems)
..
I would faint if I got an even week paid vacation.
Coffee is on and stay safe.
ESE sounds like the perfect company, finding 'helping' work in between projects so people don't lose jobs is a great idea.
Henry looks nice dreaming about 1924.
I'm so excited you have found a place to work where you are treated with respect and recognized for your value. And, so delighted you will be able to spend ample time in Perth and even do some work-related research. It sounds like they are an excellent company and you two are a good fit.
