Are You Ready To Party?

HA! I won´t let this shitty summer give me a bad mood, oh, no!!!
16C / 60F...
These pigs, with funny hats and socks, with whom I join Eileen´s Saturday Critters, sit in my window sill and are ready to spread some fun!

As you see I sketched them on the balcony table a couple of weeks ago when summer was still here.

The Frog I showed you last time told me they are 2.7 inches "tall".
That is some 6cm and the one to the right certainly has a pizza-cake.

What is your fav cake?
I kinda bet some sweet one?
If I had to choose it would be an apple cake, I guess.
I googled for the most loved cake in Germany. It´s... cheesecake. Hm. Nah.

Neighbor W and also Ingo love Stollen - how about you?
I even found this special cake  at ALDI Perth, so reckon it´s known world-wide.
Wonder if Perth has it in stock there right now!  I kinda bet as soon it´s Christmas in July over there.
Looks like we´ll have the same temps... Just they have winter-time...

Henry, LIFE is the party, try to enjoy every day, no matter the weather...

Hello Iris,
I love your cute sketch of the piggies with the cake.
There are so many kinds of cake I like, cheesecake and apple cake are both good. Henry wants some cake too. Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Take care, have a great weekend. PS, thank you for leaving me a comment.

...60F seems great when it's 90F here!

Eileen, I wonder what kind of cake Henry would like :-)
In fact here in zoos animals do get "cakes"!
I remember Knut, the polar-bear who was raised by a human (both are gone, sadly).
He got a cake with fish and all in a huge ice-ball!
He loved it!
He was on TV all the time (zoo Berlin).

Cute piggies. I love cake. I'm not sure I have a favorite. I was surprised the favorite cake of Germans was cheesecake. I would have thought Schwarzwalde Kirsch Torte would be the fave. Our weather is improving this week. I think this week will be the first since Spring where it hasn't rained buckets. I hope your weather improves, too.

Tom, a big, fat NO. I want summer!!! I want Ingo to complain it´s too hot, then I feel GOOD! ;-)

____

CJ, Schwarzwälder Kirsch... hmmm. Nah. Too mighty I think.
But I bet I tasted it once. Being a German you like have no chance to miss it ;-)
Yay to your weather at least!

Christine, ice cream is sometimes good, too - just too cold for that now...

Mae, thank you, they say.

Your sketch is adorable and I'm with you about summer. It has been colder than normal here. About apple cake. I made one the other day. OMG so good. I will put the recipe on my blog. Have a great day.

Iris, the cake mix is up for you. https://beadwright.blogspot.com/2023/07/apple-cake-for-iris.html

Thank you, Nicole, see my comment on your blog :-)
Guess I will have to make a "German" one come apple-time and share. Or Apfelstrudel. With vanilla ice-cream.
Oh, all the freedom I have now that I dare to use the oven!!!

I like chocolate cake, cheesecake and basicaly any kind of cake. The piggies look pretty cool. Henry is in a hurry, hope he makes it in time. No summer here either just plenty of rain. :(

Iris Flavia said...

Bill that sounds like sweetness-overload to me - pizza, please!
Oh, at least you got rain. Here just cold and grey...

I like sweet cakes. Caramel flavour the best.
It is 27˚C here & a bit humid.
My Buzz doesn't make any noise anymore. :-(

Iris Flavia said...

I love salty caramel!
Yay to 27C - but ohhhhh, so sorry for Buzz! Any chance to out in new batteries? Maybe you only need a special tool?

I guess 60F does seem like a bummer when you want hotter. We are in the 80'sF right now, which feels like paradise. In two days we will be back into the 90's with lots of humidity, and that always feels like hell. Your painting is sweet. It doesn't get much better than love and cake. Don't laugh, but I used to pig out on Pepperidge Farm coconut cake when I was younger. The best cake I have ever eaten was one I made from scratch - gingerbread upside down cake with pears as the topping. It was perfection, but pizza cake does sound intriguing.

Love your sketch ...

Our weather has turned wet and windy!

All the best Jan

Apple cake is good and so is cheesecake, but my pick would be something chocolate. The more layers of chocolate, the better! And I like stollen. I have even made them before. Now I want some cake-smile. Happy rest of your weekend Iris. Hugs-Erika

Sweet little piggies.
My fave cake is Black Forest, with the dark cherries and real cream and freshly made. I like cheesecake too but don't eat it very often. My mum liked Stollen. My dad liked any cake that had cream on it or in it. My dad LOVED cream.

Iris Flavia said...

Yvonne, oh, yes, it´s really not nice. My perfect weather is 35C+/95F+.
Hmmmmm if not too sweet I love coconut! De facto I have a Piña Colada drink in the fridge!
Ginger I love, too.
And I have pizza muffins in the fridge I made a couple of months ago - time to get them out!

____

Jan, thank you. Yes, weather does not improve here, either...

____

Erika, isn´t stollen-making a LOT of work?!
Hope you have a cake nearby :-)
To a happy Sunday, hugs

____

River, LOL, I feel a bit sick already now that I read so much about cake!
I just had grilled cheese, hmmmm!
