Don´t Forget About Us Part II

Back in the West of the city.
A frog as symbol for shoe care?
The idea ain´t that dumb, see, wiki explains:

" The frog alludes to the Frog King and is today one of the most well-known brand logos of all. The following considerations played a decisive role in its introduction:
  •  Its skin protects the frog from moisture - just as Erdal protects shoes.
  •  If shoes could see, they would see the world from the frog's perspective.
  •  The frog became the frog king through the crown. In the early days of Erdal, people believed in the sales-promoting effect of noble attributes. Thus, the first Erdal cans were also advertised with the words `In private use at princely courts.`"
This is for Tom´s Signs2.

22 years ago today the man in the yellow shirt and blonde wig left us.
You were some dude, Dad...

Great to see your dad dressed for fun. Interesting about the frog shoe care. We have a shoe polish called Kiwi and the logo is a kiwi bird from New Zealand but I have never thought to find out why. I remember polishing my black school shoes with it, one brush for applying the polish, let it dry a bit, then buff it to a shine with another, softer brush.

Yes, he was a fun guy...
Hm... Wiki just says it was named after the bird, for his wife: "Ramsay named it "Kiwi" after the flightless bird native to New Zealand, the home country of his wife, Annie Elizabeth Meek."
I think the frog idea is more clever, but for the wife is cute, too...

Loved reading about the Frog King shoe polish. Does anyone where leather shoes anymore? Does anyone polish them? Fun picture of your dad. Brought a happy memory of my dad dressed in drag for a show his Senior Center had put on.

Tom, that´s true!

CJ, I don´t think I have leather shoes and if I have better things to do than polish them! 😂

I don't see frog logos in Hawaii, but I never really looked. Fun times with your Dad. He looked "pretty."

In the 1970´s men's singing societies were modern and they also dressed up and performed silly, little scenes. Reckon beer and schnapps was involved, too ;-) Hugs

These are very good reasons to take the frog as a symbol. I remember Erdal from my childhood. Because the empty can was used in the hopscotch game. Like the photo of your father

Cute memories - we have a hopscotch as carpet :-)
