I join Nicole´s FFO with with what Ingo takes his face off every day, kinda!
Yes, he uses "ABSCHAUM"!!!!
I sadly found no website or an entry at wiki.
That word translated these days means... "SCUM"!
Back in the day when the raven wore this hat it just meant you foamed your face with this solid "finest" soap using a shaving brush. The soap is in a tin - no to all the plastic-stuff, right?
Also it´s cool, I love ravens and freshly shaved men!
I know some love that 3-days beard or more.
I am just glad I´m not a man, must decide what to do with my face - or legs for that matter.
2002 I shaved my legs before we went to Cuba.
Ingo said I am dumb - you see no difference.
Oh, don´t be jealous. My head-hair is so thin it´s a pain.
As usual I also like to join Annie with her Smiles - leaving the week with a smile is just too good, right?

Skull shaped charcoal! Where do I buy that? my son would love it. I don't mind a two-day beard and some men even look better with that than without. Some full beards look nice too, but I don't like thin scraggly too long beards, they are just messy.
My dad used to buy shaving soap in a stick wrapped in paper, then he would put that into an enamel mug and use it from there with his shaving brush.
I only shave my legs in summer and even then only when I remember.
Sadly I have no idea if you can buy that coal or if this is a fake. But it sure is so "cool"!
I agree, some men look better with a 2-3-days beard. Ingo does not!
I remember when we went through the airport-procedure in Perth once when we started from Braunschweig - I was done in a sec, Ingo looked like he´s up to no good and had to answer a lot of questions, LOL!
Since then we go to Frankfurt the day before and Ingo shaves before we head to the airport. Lesson learned.
Hi Iris, interesting story about the shaving soap. I don't have any hair on my legs now as I waxed my legs when I was younger and now it doesn't grow back apart from the odd hair. My hubby has a beard but only very short. I do feel uncomfortable near men with long beards I don't know why. Have a lovely weekend. Hugs Angela xXx
I remember my dad using hard soap in a bowl and a stubby brush to shave. It is all electric shavers these days, so nice to know Ingo has stuck with the old ways which give a far better shave, (in my opinion anyway).
I love the picture of the Gorilla smiles. How lovely is that?
Have a great week. Kate x
Angela, funny how the meaning of words change over time, huh?
LOL, I think there is nothing to wax here.
Maybe long beards remind you of Santa? Have you not been good as a kid (just kidding). To a lovely weekend, hugs xXx

Kate, I agree, wet shaving is much better - glad you liked the cute gorillas and they made you smile, too x
...I gave up shaving years ago!
Happy Friday Iris. Some very interesting faces.
Much💜love
Haha, BBQs with skulls! Love it :)
Tom, I know ;-)

Gillena, thank you :-)

Margaret, bummer, huh! I´d buy them!
I'm like you, Iris. The hair on my arms and legs is so light, you can't see it unless it's in the sun. I last shaved my legs in 2008. My underarms, on the other hand, are a different matter. Hygiene is important and so is a good deodorant (grin).
Nice face on that tin. Really nice that there is no plastic, although in the states, it's usually in an aerosol can.
Cute funnies, especially the chocolate chips.
Both my husbands wet shaved and used soap and brush. And it smells lovely and clean. Both husbands were blue collar workers so there was no need to shave in the morning.. I asked them to shave in the evening as I don’t like the stubble when we were intimate.
As a young girl my mother warned me never to shave my legs as the hair would come back longer and harder. We are dark haired so I have always waxed my legs. Now since my chemo, I have hardly any hair left and what there is, is very pale and almost invisible so I don’t bother anymore.
I love the funnies.
Enjoy your weekend,
Hugs,
Lisca
Definitively YES to hygiene!
I once had a colleague I had to take with me to work, a 45 minutes drive. It was a pain, but I found no way how to tell her...
Luckily she didn´t like the job and quit. Astonishingly none of the others said a word either - maybe they didn´t smell it in the back of the car.
Ff 20 years and I still would not know how to address such a problem!
But I would like to the other to brave up if it is me who´s smelling!
Saving-stuff inn aerosol cans? Strange.
Lisca, interesting to hear about your husbands.
Oh, waxing sounds... hurtful...
Have a great weekend, hugs
I didn't know crows wore hats either. But they do look good in them. And the gorilla faces are sweet. I once spent a few minute with a gorilla in a zoo. There was glass between us, but we looked each other in the eye. It was moving. Those faces are so intelligent and so much like ours in so many ways. Hope you're having a super Friday. hugs-Erika
My Dad always had a wet shave with a shaving soap and brush so it brought back happy memories for me. Your gorilla smile looked rather like me and little Louie :-)
Hugs,
Annie x
I remember my father used shaving soap and a brush when I was small 60 years ago.
Erika, yes, it´s a shame we treat animals like this But then, seems to be the only way to save species... I can imagine it was very moving! To a great Friday, hugs

Annie, thank you and you are welcome, too! Hugs x

Debra, I sadly must admit I have no idea how my Dad shaved...
Hair raising (or a lack of) post! :)
Nice sniles, here is to freshly shaved men!
Smiles I meant
magiceye, lack of :-)
____
Christine, yes to both :-)
My Dad. used a soap that came wrapped in paper that fit in a standard coffee mug. It is still in the bathroom cabinet at my Mom's house.
Metal tins instead of plastic would be a good change.
I quit shaving years ago. The older I get the less you can tell lol
Gene, yes, Ingo has one, too :-)
Back to the roots.

Divers and Sundry, you save a lot of time then, too!
I really like that Raven lid for the shaving cream. It's very stylish. I too like a clean shaven man. However, Mr. M. thinks he has to have a mustache and goatee on his face. It seems every old man in my town looks the same. Long gray hair with a mustache and beard. I have told Mr. M. it looks stupid buttttt.....Anyway, I love your post and especially the skull charcoal. Have a great day today, Iris.
Oh, I am sorry you have to deal with beards...
Maybe present him with such soap?
Yes, the charcoal is great - to a great day!
My dad used a brush to lather his face before shaving. I gave it up in my early 20s.
I don't like facial hair at all. Thanks for the funnies.
Bill, wow! So you have no idea how your chin looks like ;-)
____
gigi, some it suits (Ingo not (luckily)).
I love your drawing of the raven & the tin, Iris.
I like a man with a well maintained beard. So many guys seem to have beards these days.
RedPat, thank you.
Yes, you can buy all kinds of formula to care for your beard, it´s crazy!
Two crows I think of Heckle and Jeckle.
Coffee is on, and stay safe.
True! Now that you mention...
My father used shaving soap many years ago, but I couldn't begin to tell you what kind it was or how he bought it. That should give you some idea of how many years ago that was. I like the new scruffy look on the boys(men). It somehow is more masculine, but kissing a man with a scruffy beard ... now that is another matter.
Loved your smiling Gorillas and your oh so literal neighbor. And the skull shaped charcoal is perfect for Nicole ... I am guessing she is loving it :)
And, as I am so late with my comments, I can tell you that I had a very nice, albeit busy, weekend, thank you. So I will wish you a fine week, Iris ...
