Define Student
Doc-Thursday started with another try to get rid of some of my books and this time the public bookcase was open.
And the campus full of students.
It came to mind quite shockingly that last time I was on campus as a student was 16 years ago.
Sixteen.
Yet I felt like a student again.
Well, I´m still learning, too. Aren´t we all lifelong students? :-)

Hang In There, Mate
Yesterday morning I finally went to get my thyroid tested.
Actually you should do this once a year.
Last time was 2010, uups.
Guess the pumpkin soon has had it, no?
But, awww, the lamp in the background - just like the one hanging here, an original from my parents, whereas that one likely is IKEA? But what the heck - yay for the 70´s! :-)
On the way to the doc I found this rather weird combination:
After the visit at the doc I had the day off and... recycled plastic, paper, plastic bottles, did mini-grocery-shopping and lots of cleaning aka all floors and the darn shower and all.
Neighbour A popped by to bring me beans and china-paste and lots of advice, got olives in return and spontanously invited me up to show me what he´ll cooked the night.
Reckon I´ll really give it a go next Thursday.
I´ll have another day off then to get blood-pressure and all controlled by my doc for 24 hours.
The good thing is: Preparation is cold, I can put it in the cold oven and can let it cool down before taking it out - perfect for me!
For inbetween he gave me self-made lamb-goulasch, deep-frozen.
He just shouldn´t have said it´s rather fatty ;-)
Weird is how different his kitchen looks like, despite it´s the same space as ours.
28 680 steps taken today, just by walking to and fro doc and running around cleaning.
Housewifes sure have my respect!

Still The Same
Gliesmaroder Strasse just yet again!
I really had plenty of time between the two dates at the doc!
And I wondered, some things never die off, it seems.
This Kiosk still exists.
You can play lotto here, get a cup of coffee, beer or schnapps, breadrolls, cigarettes, sweets, newspaper, who knows what else, they´re open on Sundays as well.
A little further down the street... eww....
Dunno, I would not want any sweets from this filthy thing!
Usually you find a cigarette machine right beside, so the kids learn early what´s supposed to be next... well, at least in the 70´s, when smoking was still "healthy" this combination was quite normal.

My Old Neighbourhood
This is Gliesmaroder Strasse, the next parallel to Karl Strasse.
I never went in there to get a haircut, though, but I always liked to have a look.
Sadly there is no pic as evidence, but my Granma had a wallpaper just like this one!
I remember there was some drama from my side when Bro without asking put another wallpaper on top when he moved in.
Without even taking a pic!!!!
All that is left is my parent´s wallpaper:
The drama was that big that he offered me the sofa you see in the pic - sadly I don´t have the space.
Aw, the seventies...
Happy times...

Beautiful Colors
To my eyes the surrounding was so dark I could´t see the top of the little tower - weee, this cheapy cam can do miracles in HDR-mode, no?
Our town hall, where we got the wedding documents registered for free. Still a surprise in the aftermath, for free.
I went to my company to deliver my sick-note and get my Sodhexo, had a nice chat with secretary E, then I remembered last sec that the one whose name is like mine is sitting there in the corner (it´s just too weird for me to call her "Iris"), turned around and had another long chat with her.
I happily told her I´ll move, office-wise, and she told me she once had a colleague that made her even cry. Bummer. And that, no, I´m no stupid softie at all.
She gave me a book she´d just finished on how to handle nasty people.
Never too late for that.
Fingers crossed I move NOW!
The colors alone make one happy, no?
Some mild 16 C in the afternoon is bliss.
What I just hate is... the checkout-girls wear t-shirts.
So do I. I top it with a long shirt and a jacket, though, not funny in say 25C! :-(
There´s always something to brag about, no? ;-)

Spontanous Shopping
I could just bet you thought I got myself some shoes or something, but no...
Our old butcher, I certainly went inside.
The salami sure was yummy :-)
I got myself a way too sweet milk shake and went to the park to read until it was finally time to see the doc.
Yes, not too cold to sit down, read and enjoy the colors!
Little did I know I´ll sit with Bob for another two hours waiting to see my doc.
Wee.
But, as others said, it´s worth the wait.
Well, she asked about said colleague and when I told her I´m alone now with that dude she offered to sign me sick.
Dunno.
I still hope this week I move into another office away from him.
If not... I think about taking her offer.
On my way home...
I bought some stock.
So much for shoes, huh? ;-)

Mumme And Bonne Nuit
It was time again for the Mumme Mile, or how it´s called officially, "mummegenussmeile". "Indulgence", hm, well...
The Mumme-beer was too warm and sadly I could not try these:
Erdknollen simply is potato, in this case potato fritter, but, uhhhhh too fatty.
There was also obviously very yummy:
Even the staff munched away happily :-)
Sadly I have to say...
... it was just plain way too LOUD!
So we left for the next station where no one wanted to ...
Sucha cute little carousel, no?
This was really lovely...
We headed on into another world:
They really were French, but luckily spoke some German, too.
We did not go for "Kangourou", though.
This sadly has a reason, too:
My baguette wasn´t really baked, I had to dump it!
But that´s not what the title is about!
I really had a good night´s sleep, again I got fresh Lavande de Marseille, quatre sachet, ca fait cinq euro, merci beaucoup :-)
Bonne nuit!
