Magnifest 2016 Part III - Martin
Maybe you know Jägermeister is produced in Wolfenbüttel, 11 km from our doorstep, to be exact.
They certainly were there with a stand also and had a very cool "gadget".
Ingo asked where you can get it and alas!
We had to take these to get it!
I thought, oh, my, will we make it home?!
But actually that stuff is really mild!
Sunday we were to return, right - we still had two tokens for the carousel.
The weather was bad, but after a normal start of the day we took off.
Was it the weather, did Ingo forget to take his Coumadin?
They state Ingo still has pulmonary embolism, yet is to take this blood-thinning med - an alternative to Marcumar.
(We wait for another "specialist" to solve the "riddle".)
Suddenly Ingo got slower and slower, big drama was ahead.
We made it without docs/emergency, but let me tell you, having a man, once 20, now 26cm taller than me, trying to get home without incident... not an easy but very, very frightening experience.
He had to sit down twice, the second time I found a bench already taken, but the man made room.
It was Martin, we learned.
Martin works at Lebenshilfe Braunschweig, he is mentally... not really up to date, a bit slow, but manages a life more or less without help.
He talked and talked and asked and asked, oh, my, we sat over an hour with him.
Enough time to get Ingo strong enough again to make it home.
I said, "all the best, Martin!", when we finally left and he asked if we´ll meet again.
Well, we know "his bench" now, right?
He´s a year older than Ingo and I guess "we/Ingo being sick" made his day.
On a Sunday he can´t work, right.
I try desperately to see the positive, huh?
But what else can I do...

Magnifest 2016 Part II
After I braved up to hop on that carousel on Sat I certainly had earned myself a beer, right?
We found CRA(B)BS - no crap for sure!
It stands for Craft Beer Braunschweig (number-plates start with BS for Braunschweig) - "advanced" Germany is finally there, too!
Yummy beer, they´re on the right way (though it´s still a bit far from being "the best in the world", as they state!)...
They learned a lot about how craft-beer goes "Down Under" aka LITTLE CREATURES, The VIC, THE BRASS & CO - get Ingo started, right? ;-)
We´ve been talking about sharing meals, right - this would be too much for the two of us!
Crazy. Who can eat that up, I wonder...
And also...
Ingo had roast in a breadroll and me very hot feta cheese...
Awww...
After beer and food we got...
And...
Haha, don´t worry, we weren´t drunk - these are air-brushed only :-)
And yes. I will resume training, promised!!

Magnifest 2016 Part I
Saturday we went to the maybe last Magnifest (sponsors needed!) and the carousel was there again, oh, my!
We had another sad first:
There was certainly much, much more, especially for kids, pony-riding, waterball, trampoline and so forth!
And then it happened again!
Ohhhh, my!
Maybe I can really do this again without being the first person ever to get sick in this, right?
I did it!!
Ok, here really is proof!
More to come... more fun. And then...

I Got Proof!
I grew up without her and I have to admit I don´t know about the big Niece, but I do know the Tooth fairy has made it to Germany and she also has a car :-)
Did you get pressies from her for your first teeth?

Un-German
After Ingo said hi to "Klein-Ingo" he ordered a Currywurst and two forks and knives.
In Schadt´s that´s no worries.
In other restaurants you can´t get a kid´s menu unless you are a kid, you can get no retiree-menu unless you are retired.
Your problem if you can´t eat as much as a two-meter-guy.
And here even the new waiter said ok at once.
Maybe they told him there may come a couple like us ;-)
Also the guests are rather un-German.
I mean, what goes for Germans?
They´re always on time, they are correct, they are "fuddy-duddy".
Did I mention correct?
I was thinking, hmm, how will they do that, so many peeps around only one table.
Easy, they were un-German Germans :-)

And That Was That
I can´t believe my holiday is over already.
In the news they said Autumn tries to make up for this bad "Summer", sadly the flowers can´t keep up.
You might say my holiday was boring.
I´ve been cleaning the condo very, very carefully.
Threw stuff out I don´t need anymore.
Went a wee bit creative:
Took care about the stupid taxes and such stuff.
Read a lot.
Did not visit family and I don´t know why.
I´m really very sad about this. Told Bro twice I have the week off and can come over. Not a word back, not even an explanation.
Makes it easier to maybe accept Ingo´s plans of moving.
No more "sleeping in" till 07:00 am.
Likely not good news from my teamleader concering his girlfriend´s health. I still don´t know how I will handle the worst case. I´m not good with this.
Back to work where I don´t have much to do which is really awful.
But first we´ll visit the (maybe last) Maggi Magnifest and the forcast is good!
Alas. Come the dark half of the year time´ll crawl...
Good thing we can look forward to visiting some of you in Perth :-)
Hope this is just a "news" that won´t mean anything: Perth, WA faces high-risk bushfire season...

"I´m No Woman"
One of my calendars (you find the others here) gave me some thinking.
And action, too.
As mentioned before three of my four teamleaders plus Ingo said to me you´re no woman in the sense of I don´t fuss around with make-up much, or clothes, I don´t do the typical girly-stuff - no offense to those who do! It´s just not my thing.
So at first I shook my head upon this calendar but then...
Then I "remembered" this thing, that´s to my right as I type...
My summer-shoes (used to) live in there and I didn´t open one drawer all summer!
Did I do that last summer, I don´t think so!
Oh.
My.
Godness!
This is what I found that goes directly to the red cross!
It´s really sad for this pair...
I tried them on.
Guess I never was in shoes so uncomphy!
Why on earth did I buy those?!
Were they a pressie? I can´t remember!
So, that´s what´s left:
Sadly the 70´s shoes dissolve themselves and go to the bin.
Now there is room for these - I don´t wear them but can´t throw them away...
These are my work-shoes btw, who knows for how long.
Forecast for next week though: up to 27C :-)
And at home or to the city I wear thongs.
Hm.
I´m a woman after all - an old woman with fool-proofed and/or comphy shoes that forgets a lot, it seems, alas! ;-)
