WHERE Are Your Manners

We hop on Transperth, Ingo goes beep, I go   but the driver says, OK, go on.

Perth, huh? To FB I repeat myself, the journey started roughly with us sitting in the plane for over an hour waiting for the it to get defrosted in minus 7C in Frankfurt.

Missed the plane in Singapore, the next brought us to Perth where Grace and P thankfully picked us up.

Next day get to Perth-time, today on to the bus.

First dude hops off.
Like... just like that.

Huh?

Second ditto.

On to Warwick.

Off hops the first shouting "Thank you!"

Ah, THERE are your manners :-)

Aaaand Off

Everything is packed.
Time to call a taxi and take off.

In case you wonder if I´m stupid.
Really, let´s be honest.

A) not much traffic here, right? I value everyone reading along but reckon it´s not like the world knows this condo will be "on it´s own" the next weeks
B) there are 14 parties in this house, two know we´re on holiday and have an eye on our stuff aka condo, cars, mail
C) Ingo installed "TV", "lights" and "radio" pretending we´re still here
D) nothing of value to get anyways

Still, certainly, a lille fear if we really find everything ok when coming back.

Well, let´s see if we have WiFi in the cabin, let´s see how much we´ll be online.

Looking forward to meet some of you in person again!

Looking forward, I guess, to see Elizabeth Quay for real?
The cows.
Everything will be different again, I bet, the skyline, horseshoe bridge... I´ll get lost!
Complain about the heat. And the cold inside Woolies & Co.
Order NT Jerky!
Leave this life behind a bit.

Aaand off!

Barefoot, Not

I sadly can´t remember how I, or we for that matter, felt on March 5th in 1995.
But I kinda think not half as nervous as we do today.

Which is stupid, no?
After all it´s the 6th time we hop on taxi/train/plane to get to Australia and the 5th time we do that target Perth.

Getting old, I tell ya!

Looking at the beautiful roses and having
"Laugh until we think we´ll die barefoot on a summer night
Never could be sweeter than with you"

kinda does not really help!

Barefoot, yes, ... other... no!

Better concentrate on that dangerous thing right behind the roses, huh?
Dangerous because... We´ll go there again.
Bet she has a lot of beautiful stuff on offer again.

1999. Emu-dad with two kids runs across the gravel road. I manage to stop the Patrol in time.
And have an odd feeling and wait.
And right, there comes emu-kid #3! Falls on his lille butt and red dust is all around him.

Well.
Time to pack.
And then...

Bet Frankfurt will be even colder and no, I don´t wanna look that up!

I wanna be barefoot in the sand soon.

Last City-Visit

Yesterday we went a last time to the city, Ingo and I.

I went today, by myself, even twice cause I got something wrong.
We didn´t fight, no, Ingo sat in the car. Actually he still does.

In 3C, too.
He waits for a single-parking spot cause they´re not that likely claimed by someone who moves in or out.
Hence Ingo can cut off the battery of his old car, unlikely the neighbours have to move it from there.

Crikey! Over three hours and no one moves!
So unusual, so unfair.

Murphy´s law, huh.
Bet when he has a lot at least three others suddenly leave.

Would be good, I´d get my car into one, too.

And, yes, I know, we choose to live here...

The Elephant ("Washed My Head")

My friend P has two little twin girls so I assumed she just forgot to set her calendar on "absent" for Friday and, since again she is my "boss", told her via e-mail what I´d prepared work-wise for my absence, if one or two things are the way she wanted it and how to do everything herself if Teamleader...
well, you know.
Will be absent for a while, too.

Indeed I was right with today (a German saying, to know your pigs by the way they walk).

I´d said if I was right doing this then somebody will have to undo this come January and it´s not clear who that´d be.
Wished her a Merry Christmas etc.

Shoot, what I did get back!

She´d asked her boss over and over again to make the situation clear - will I keep my job or not. She even prepared her ready-to-use e-mails to forward!

Upon my answer that, thanks and it´s sad to go on holiday like this, but it´s with a bad feeling anyways due to my Teamleader´s situation. Upon that...

Sometimes you underestimate your friends, me, at least.

I got one of the most... crazy, I nearly cried.

And she is right:
Maybe it´s a new chance. She says I can do way more than what I do now.
We used to develop - stopped since years.

And she wrote down all the crap that I had to carry kinda constantly since 2002 and said now it´s my time - to enjoy.

Lucky me had a voucher and the thinking made me hungry, too.

Yes. Three fillet bites.

I´d kinda "forgotten" so much of the crap.
How come she has it right there?

It´ll be hard for T - every working day the two of us found several things to laugh out loud about.
I really do believe laughing is a bit like medicine and I feel really sorry I leave him now whilst his girlfriend is having such a very hard time to let go of life.
Plus I was listening whenever he needed to talk.

Alas.
P is right, time for myself. And a very hopefully "healthy" Ingo.

Shoot.
She helped me heaps but made me so sad, too.
Cause now I have all the crap right here again in my mind.

But, you know.
This woman.
She also still recalls all the names of Ingo´s Brother´s four kids though she had never ever met them!
Like an elephant she never forgets a thing!
"Washing someones head" maybe is just a German saying, too.
Meaning setting things straight again, remind someone of things.

And yes.

KFC is rather new here.
They still do a good job, it´s, unlike in Perth, really yummy!
Maybe crap-times will be over for me for a while now.
Will give T my private e-mail, though.
After all. We´re kinda friends, right.

Bad Auntie

As mentioned I way later made an Advent-Calendar for Wee One, too.

Filled with "healthy" sweets and practical stuff.

D'oh!
Guess what she picked first.
A toothbrush! A cute one, but still... a toothbrush. What were the chances?!

Reckon Niece got something more enjoyable...
Not unpacked yet.

Bad Auntie... Sorry Wee One!
Please take one with the other wrapping paper tomorrow, ok? (I told your Dad which is which, too! In my defense... ;-)...)

From USA Just In Time

Cold and sunny is bearable, right? Not really nice but can at least look beautiful and when you go fast enough you also warm up.

Ah, that neighbour. Every year he has the star out, right by my window.

Well, as you can see there is no sun.

It´s really, really icky atm.
Weeks ago I ordered two items at amazon and the second said, delivery may take as long as Dec 7th.
Which is the day we arrive in Perth!
And I ordered to Packstation, too! After 7 days it goes back to the sender (oh, do you have Wilson in mind now, too? As in Cast away with "return to sender"?).

I risked it. At times I´m a true optimist!
So when I got an sms from Packstation I said to teamleader, phew, my package from America arrived in time! Oh, wait. Bro send the sunglasses via Packstation, too....

Guess :-)
This icky weather, who needs sunglasses, right? (Hope for those being here in time, though!)

Hmmm, "Dean" :-)
