RRRrroar... Hype Over Nothing

Despite the very icky, rainy, sad weather Ingo agreed to walk to the (more or less) new Markthalle, some 4.something km one-way away yesterday.

Yah... signposts, pffft. You maybe need them in Lakeside Joondalup, but not here...

Funny coincidence btw: It says: "RINDFLEISCH AUS ALLER WELT" - "Beef from around the world" with "AUS" is right about Australia :-)
What´s new is that it´s dark, oh, wow, great idea...

It was a disappointment.
You can eat out there, though (if you look for a tiny eatery, that is).

On the way back Ingo mentioned that one of our blogger-friends might recognize this house (near Otto von Guericke-Straße)...

Lifts don´t work anymore etc, etc, yet two parties seem still to live there.
Every now and then it´s in the local news debating if to tear it down or not.
Oh, what an unwelcoming place this is!!

We stopped at the lille military shop US-Depot cause Ingo wanted to have trousers with pockets on the side for our journey.
I asked the fella if they have some in my size.
He asked me to open my coat, had a look, and... gave me one pair that fit at once.
Wow.
Well, it was too long, as it´s men´s size and he was a tad bemused when Ingo said he´ll make them fit, just gotta take out his sewing machine :-)

In June I marched with soldiers some 20km (OK, after 18 I had to fight my way on...), now these 10km - with breaks, too - brought me to my limit :-(
Thank you Doctors, I am unfit as nearly never before.

Well. Markthalle? Done, not again.
The guy at US-Depot told us one of his friends likes the place. He goes there, buys a bottle of wine, pays some extra €5 to get it opened to have a glass there and takes the rest home.

Five Euro for that?! Bites me.

At least we went outside despite the weather.
We got trousers for travelling and my Polar said 223%, 21 968 steps, 14.8 km and 2095 calories burned.

Quick And Simple

I´d bought two bath-rugs on Dec 7th.
The first one was great, the second too small.
Yesterday I went to give the small one back - actually you have but 14 days for this.

We´re no narcissists btw, that huge mirror was installed by the guys who lived here before. It´s a pain to clean, too.
And I´ll find a fun/simple way for the broken board, too.

And That´s The Difference

Yesterday I went to buy a phone.
Internet said 15€, that´s ok.

After a longer search I asked one of the staff, by golly.

I do understand you might have a bad day from time to time - he sure had.
Very unfriendly and when we arrived at the right place I saw: 29,99€.

On asking he barked at me that prices in store might differ quickly and just ran off.

Since there were but two left, I grabbed one and went to the cash out.
Do you love those people who sneak up very, very close to you in hopes it all goes faster as much as I do?
I was about telling that guy off - but he was much taller than me...

And then luck stroke.
"Cash-out #4, please", the computer told me. And!!!
It was the guy with the white hair.
Not the first time he helped me and weeee.
I certainly told him that the online price differs "a bit", he immediately looked it up, said, that´s 50%, how can that be, we take the online-price and that was that.

Yes, it´s "just" 15 bucks.
But the efford and the smile and the action made me forget what else I wanted to buy and sent me home grinning.

I doubt, too, another colleague there would´ve done that.
They just do their job, he does his job with joy (not in Spacecenter Bremen, that is long closed down due to mismanagement, but at MediaMarkt Braunschweig).

I hope to find that, too, soon, a job that I can enjoy again.

Be Prepared - And Choose

Don´t you just love it, when you find forgotten things?

After our last big holiday two years ago I put everything needed into a bag and yesterday Ingo asked for it.

You know, to fake that you´re home with timed light/TV, I´d put on labels to make it easier which is programed for which room or funtion.

And I found those sealing bags by Foto Agfa!!!
Why ever I really put them in the travel bag, they´re way too precious to be used, they´re from the 70´s!
Along with the two plain ones a nice person gave to us last time when we had none (that you need them at all on flights is another story....).

Do you remember those times when you needed such a "film reel"?
You usually gathered, say... 5 of them, then gave them to a studio for your pictures to be developed and only THEN you saw if your work was yay or nay!

The Studio Breitenbach does not exist anymore, but you know something?
The sealer still works fine!

It did cost DM49,90 to develop the films and you got those bags when you bought new reelers, I guess?
The first one was from summer-time, to take to the beach, the second you probably got a kite along with it, who knows, I do not remember those bags, I found them somewhere in our parent´s house in 2013.

I also found a night-light to use, yay!!!

Why I am not afraid to post this?
a) house has a party of 14
b) I simply do not assume any of you readers will make the efford to come here and try to rob us, plus we have nothing of much value anyways
c) neighbours know and are aware - you need to give your car key to one in case of construction work or movers and to let someone take care of your paper-mail

Oh, I SO can´t wait to go, it´s gotten really cold here, too cold for my liking!!! Even though the sun is finally back, brrrr cold!

Like Cats And Dogs...

Even if Ingo and I behave like cats and dogs at times (don´t we all?), he came home with this surprise, a mouse for the cat (OK, it´s mice, a whole box and we´ll eat`em all up).

I hope the endless tiredness ends now!

Over the days I managed to even make a 4-year old giving me a bugged out "boahhhh" on the phone. Never ask what Santa brought if you´re not fit in the toy world of today! (No I had no idea what "Paw-Patrol" was and even if her speech has improved a lot it was a mere, ow well). Bro had to fill me in.
And the ... let´s call her "Big One" now, well, she sounds like an adult with her 8 1/2 years, it´s crazy!!!
