IT Is Gone

Mural found - and lost - at river Oker a couple of years ago.

"It" reminded me if IT, the second English book I got at age 14, when I was in London.

Brrrr... Later the movie.... more brrrrr!

I always hated clowns and this building, that is no more gave me the creeps, too.

Inside you found graffiti. Have to walk by there to see if there is something new now.

I never sneaked  inside, it looked too dangerous, breaking down any minute.

Just like the times now. "IT", aka "Corinna" eats us up, as in scaring us off... A balloon anyone? 🎈

Taking part again in Sami´s COLOURFULWORLD Monday Murals.

Inside-Out

Found around the corner. Wear a mask properly or not at all. Crazy how some just do not get it!

Or is that a hint no one understands? It´s inside-out, kinda...

My dear Bro presented me with that bowl (the koala - Nellie - came from Perth via a friend) - and guess what I found in the street?!

It´s a lamp, actually, no idea yet what to use it for, but the bowl from above just said, "Hello, Sister!!!"

Inside-out, this hangs on our balcony, birds are welcome to come in! 🐦

Cold today, but sunny, so let´s have a look back, ahhh, THE life:

Henry?🦁

He needs COLOUR!

And.. P.S. ... thanks to all of you who said these shoes in last post look uncomphy, they are! I wish all people would see it that way!

In my old job I wore sneakers. But for a new one "high heels" are expected.

Cross your fingers I don´t stumble and fall!😂  That would be an entrance!

If I find a job in these weird times... (btw, I do not rely on Ingo´s money thanks to renting out, see loo-problem!)

Tis´N Tat

Ohhh, I have a hard time letting go of this summer, as shit#y as it was.

On my way to the bakery I took the tour bypassing the first room I lived in here in Braunschweig. Flatsharing with two men, oh, my...

Why flatsharing? My first real job - they can kick you out in the first 6 months (they kept me for 17 years).

New boss, I got terminated as Volkswagen closed down my project due to the Diesel affair.

New shoes to apply for a new job.

Found these shoes at ALDI and at first I thought each shoe is €3. Nope the pair was €3!

Still haven´t gotten an answer from the company I applied at. Will have to re-learn to walk in those shoes anyways, sneaker-times since years now!

Well...

When the last ones leaves, huh.

Hello September, please do your best, weather- and whatever-wise!

Henry? 🦁 He knows....

So do I....

Words For Wednesday On Friday

See River for instructions, I took the challenge at the first list:

1. pipes and drums band

2. patch

3. setbacks

4. garnish

5. rubble

6. costly

This, as usual, is a story from my real life.

Ingo (Hubby) got a bagpipe, to my utter dismay. And the neighbours´ likely, too.

I once fell badly and broke my arm, virus in hospital, doctors didn´t take me serious, part of the bone had rotten away (I was too young to make them take care) but in another hospital - yay to Hanover!!! - they patched it with titanium (I still have it and cannot brake that part of the arm anymore).

As a funny side-note: Our Aussie wedding rings are made from titanium, also. Strong stuff.

My garnish were fat, red scars, Ingo wanted to take pics and sadly I didn´t allow him to. When people now say, "eww, huge scars", I´d like to have a pic, my arm looked like a fresh Cordon Bleue before it hits the pan! Bon Appetit 🥩 - Now I, at least, do not see them anymore. Nearly.

At work a new colleague entered years ago, when the scars were still very well visible. His setbacks were even worse. He lost two fingers, well, a rest is still there.

At first he always quickly hid the hand when I came in to ask something - until on one very hot summer day I wore a shirt that did not cover the scars.

He stared at them, then showed me his hand and never hid it again. He put his shame to rubble. Gone with it. He even wears rings now. See, my scars were good for something after all.

He later became my teamleader, my friend now. We went through a lot and talk via Whats App every day.

There is a band in this area, which he loves, The 38th-district Pipes and Drums Band.

Very un-costly for him I managed to give him Ingo´s bagpipe, gone, out of the house with that squeaky thing!

On a visit I saw it sitting neatly presented in the corner and asked (boy are we dumb!) - "and, how´s it going with that?"

Him: "Not at all. I totally forgot I´m missing fingers and cannot play it!"

Mind you, we even were able to laugh about that!

Henry 🦁 ? He´s happy!

 No more squeaking anywhere!

Post (Card)

The darn toilet-problem in the apartment I rent out is still not solved.

But!

I sent a Braunschweig-paper-postcard to the company who tried to help with the problem, as a thank you earlier.

I was about to call the woman who rents  when my phone rang. It was said company.

At first the lady said, "thank you very much for the postcard, that was a first!" (can you believe that?!).

"Behind my back" she´d called the house´s management (I´m not friends with but related to as in half cousin and she knows I, like many others, do not get along well with that "management"), the new bill goes to them (!! YAY) as it seems to be a problem of the house and she only wanted to let me know.

See. A little gesture went a long way, huh.

Be friendly, it comes back (is that so-called Karma?)

I cannot believe this was the first thank-you-postcard they received, it  ain´t that difficult/expensive!

Do you do that, also?

A postcard, pffft. When I got huge help from the guys whom I can turn to anytime there I once made a "care parcel", - Braunschweig wine, Braunschweig Mum, Braunschweig marmelade, Braunschweig cookies, not that expensive and I can call/e-mail them whenever I need help they are there (they got a postcard, too, for helping me with that darn loo-problem).

Be nice to each other and show you appreciate their help and do not take it for granted, right.

Boy, I smiled big (that lady who rents chews off your ear when you call her, too. No, she is nice, but lonely).

Oh, I SO hope that loo-problem gets solved! It affects the washing-machine, also.

The lady renting is 80 years old, sick and I feel for her. She said otherwise she loves the place (it´s where my late Mum wanted to move into).

Message: Send paper-postcards as thank you-notes - people still love it these days (or especially these days, my Bro sent me loads of pics from their holiday via Whats App and I loved it. He said: "Instead of a paper-postcard" - both would´ve made me even happier!).

Oh, boy. I just wrote a paper-letter to my tennant as I cannot reach her via phone.

As sender I nearly put my oooold home-address (aka when I lived with my family)!!!

How weird is that? Maybe cause I thought of my Mum?

Soon off to lunch with my T 🍔😀. He has a day off working from home and has to come to the company. He calls my beautiful Braunschweig "Tetris-city" as he tends to get lost here often 🤣.

And... "me, too", even Ingo, it´s a crazy, old, huge city!

Henry?  🦁 You saw him in the postcards, right?

Schools Out For... Oh... Wait!

School just started again (I reckon, haven´t talked to Big Niece yet).

She is no....

(Despite our family-name translated is "Emperor").... She takes...

... well certainly in her village in Germany (pics from our visit to Tuscany).
This is for "Tom´s "Signs 2".

And Henry? 🦁 He says:

Niece is not only a Lion by zodiac sign, no, she fights her Diabetes1 like a huge Lion, she is armed and very sportive (not as a football-player, she´s but 10 years old!)!

Life is learning "forever" and school´s NEVER out 😁

Oh, she would be devastated if I told her that!

Cure your earworm here...

T STands For Summery TomaToes

Summer is saying good-bye, I reckon. Well, "summer" - do it better next year!!!

To take part in Elizabeth and Bleubeard´s "T Stands For Tuesday" I present more yum:

Yumyumyum.

And...  Art-wise...

Another 60-90-seconds sketch (This is what it´s all about):

And, oh, can you believe it - it´s September already!

Let´s say hello!

Pressie from my dear friend Grace - the money went to Perth Children´s Hospital.

Laugh with them here!

  Henry 🦁...

... he gives you a smile 😊
