Here We Go Again

This tiny guy greeted me when I went to get fresh, warm breadrolls.
Maybe 10 cm of size, no idea what sits under him.

By golly even now it´s -5C, the icy wind hurts in the face.

Really, Spring, what´s wrong with you, where are you?

You Have A Choice

I could´ve simply shared this on facebook but I think it´s too important (for me) to do just that.

I want to have this as a reminder if I or hopefully we get old.

This nearly blind 92-y-o (new widow) has 5 simple rules on how to be happy and this excerpt really spoke to me, maybe you agree (italic by myself, not the author).

"Each day is a gift, and as long as my eyes open I’ll focus on the new day and all the happy memories I’ve stored away, just for this time in my life."

"Old age is like a bank account, you withdraw from what you’ve put in. So, my advice to you would be to deposit a lot of happiness in the bank account of memories Thank you for your part in filling my Memory bank. I am still depositing."

What that pic means?
Well we had lots of that juice when travelling Australia in 1999 and lucky thing we did!
In the middle of nowhere (I even think it was on Aboriginal land, on the Mereenie Tour) our exhaust pipe broke loose.
Ingo fixed it with an empty can of those :-)

Memories, right?

This, too, was 1999. The first race is all the guys who drive at full speed to Birdsville for the big OZ-party (which was very boring to us).

Certainly we have gathered beautiful memories not only in Australia, but heaps of them come from there and esp from those two long journeys.

Sugar Baby Love (Brrrr)

So Tuesday I wanted to buy Ingo another inflatable neck pillow as he´ll only find his when he´s got a new one, Murphy´s law etc, right?

And the shop right beside... I "fell in love".
Went inside, had a look, asked if totally rain-proof, they weren´t sure, I left.
I´d crossed two streets already, passed a Café where people had a brekkie. For, say... €7-10? Whereas I had leftovers again.

And then I went back to that shop.
Since it´s spring already Gurri was "down" to €99 (and my jackets are ooooold!).
So, here we are, a jacket/coat with a name:

Ex-teamleader said: Done right, get something for yourself from time to time :-)

Oh, come on white dots on red make me happy!

And even if I´m maybe a tad old...
I don´t care, I only say wooly hat :-)

The title?
"Sugar Baby Love" was playing in the store, I left mid-song and my brain hence kept repeating it till I heard a jingle, aka "at home" - I hate when that happens!

Even the guy who asked me if I can change a fiver for parking fees (and would´ve accepted only €2,30 for it, but I sent him into the store instead) - even he couldn´t stop that song!

I take Gurri for a walk now - temps have dropped to 2C... will have to walk myself warm...

Clap Or Cry?

Reckon maybe you´ve heard about Evoni Williams.
If not, she´s a waitress earning money so she can attend college.

An elderly man told her when being served his hands and arms don´t work well anymore.

Evoni did what we all would´ve done, right? Busy or not she cut his food to help out.

One woman thought that this gesture was extraordinary, the whole thing went viral - even here in Germany!

A day is named in her honour and she got $16 000 to start studying.
I´m very, very happy for her, yet I´m sad this is such a big deal these days!

I mean... isn´t this what you naturally do, help???
Obviously not, not in the US, not in Germany, how sad.
Or am I getting this wrong? What´s the message?



Any thoughts from your side?
I´m confused. Either that or just very, very old-fashioned.

Colors And Rain Make The Day

Temps went up to 11C, too! And through this brolly a rainy day looks just perfect, don´t you think?

Looking forward to hopefully soon (well, this year at last!) go without brolly in the warm summer-rain :-)

As mostly the case I couldn´t find any hint to who the artist was.

Do you have any guesses what was sold in this place?

It sure helped to create romantic moments.

But don´t expect palms to grow with their products.

... or dolphins.
This family sold fireplaces.
They´re closed due to health-related issues, how sad is that.
