FFO, Smiles And I Will Not Stop!

Did you miss Henry 🦁? He missed you, too!
With these two sweet faces I join Nicole's FFO.

Nicole will sure understand: I have no patience to paint right now, because  I am quarter of an Elephant.
Something bit me in my  left foot, I have an allergic reaction.
We had no water all day > no cooling, Ingo got me meds.
BOY can a foot swell.

Yet soon I am off to the city, then to Bayswater where Sami will pick me up for another adventure.
Please wish me luck with that Elephant-part of me!

To join Annie's Smiles.... smile!!!:

Awwww, right?
I once found a baby bat in Ingo's place back in the day. The cutest they are!

Sami checked, we will not get this....

But at least fire danger went down, "cool" pics to come! Sami has the whole thing planned through, yipee!

Some funnies:

Do you love these, too?

Were your math-lessons like this, also?

OK, I am honest. I have heard no song of Taylor Swift.
But, funny news on Channel 9 (Perth):Swift'd booked a table for her crew and herself at a club in Melbourne.
"ID?"
She is no member, she cannot come in.
A member: "Don't you know who this is???? Also, she can have my card!"
Nope.
LOL.

What do you think?
Me, Yes to the first, but I'd taken the friendly offer and let her + crew in on that fan!

I hope I am!

Small Things Can Stop You

I am on a holiday, on THE holiday I waited thanks to COVID five long years for.

Happy posts are coming, right?
Sadly no.
Not only did Ingo got nasty, we have no water, but above all... I cannot walk!!!

Some nasty insect bit me twice in my left foot.
That is how my feet/body looks to insects! Yummy!

At first it was but two itches and I  went to the city, hey, what can stop me???
FIVE years, right???
And I have Freddie on my mind, "Don't stop me now... cause I'm having a good time, having a good time..."

Why would I be lucky once.
My biggest hope: No doctor, no hospital.
A German in Australia, the costs can go through the roof.

And really.... we have no water! I cleaned my glasses in the toilet!
I am not kidding. I had detergent on them before I found out.

That bite btw...

Germany, Braunschweig, 20...19? (Time runs, bare with me) - we.have.KFC!!!! And it's "finger lickin' fantastic"!
Ff to 2023. "igitt", as we say, what a disappointment!
No staff, you give your order via screen and... I needed to go pee, and I am quick!!!!  -Ingo had it already handed out!
Warm, wobbly, in the station since who knows when! "Igitt".

Will take years to come to Germany but here you see in white, you're on the list or red you are next.
you see the guys MAKING your food!!!
In the kitchen even!  All open!
No stupid print out, but trust!
Iris K, yupp, me!

A kid's piece, just RIGHT for me.

And... "You cannot even feed a bird with that".
When the person you are with is taller and eats less than you ,that feels odd.
So, you reduce your intake also and at some point it is normal.
And cheaper 😏

Or not! I fell for it!Two balls!

...trying to overhear the noise.
Like in real life, too, I'd like to scream....

I'm hopping with only one foot now.

Henry's 🦁  alter Perth-ego,the Black Swan 🐣:

Sorry for that sad post - wish me luck I do not need a doc and can walk again soon!
That foot can warm an entire cabin - and it hurts, is huge and frightens me. 😶
I spare you a pic. It is ugly.

You can have my blood. Why do THIS to me... If I was home I'd see my doc, that's how bad it is.

Addendum. Lunch time. No water. Again.

Cats Are Everywhere

This was taken at Hillarys' where we met Grace and Pat after some COVID-whopping FIVE years finally again!
Three coffee-"junkies" and me. I had the kid's drink.
Henry 🦁.....?

Henry has to make sure people in Braunschweig are safe, of course!!!
But I reckon this one is here for our safety, also, or is that the case ???

Grace pointed this out to me!!!

Here, see????

They look so cute and  innocent, ha! Do not get fooled!

Be prepared, ANYTHING can happen here!
Most likely: LOVELY people. They are plain everywhere!!!

No pic, but when we were back and I had trouble to get into the water, a nice guy: "Three, two .... one... GO!" and in we were!

A sign of caring, this is for Tom's Signs2!

T STands For Near HearT ATTack

Here you see Ingo playing with his new toy,his beer long empty and me...still at it.
With this I join Elizabeth's T, of course.

The journal. Let me tell you... pay a buck more for proper pencils...!

Monday: First time we were able to really watch the Super Bowl!
We are fans but not so crazy to stay up all night in Germany and take a day off.
But in Perth it was morno!
19:16 for SF in minute 1:53 with a 40 yards field goal!!!
Luckily we did not fancy a team, we might be near a heart attack!
6 seconds - field goal KS - 19:19.
END OF REGULATION! First in 48 games!!!
For non-footy-fans:This is 48 YEARS!
Coin toss!!!! Another FULL quarter to play!!!
Nearly interception by KC...!!!
Later 3 seconds and TOUCHDOWN KC - seven longest game in history!  And we were to watch!!!!
3rd time in row, too, for KC!!!

Later CBD, Ingo  got a TG-7, also. In red, too.
Another kid's meal shared, was too much.

Tuesday: Freo and it's prison, post to come.
The Crime Tour as we'd seen the inside twice.
The guide asked if I need a break and Ingo thought I'd pass out.

It's like when I was out of work. I think I am OK and to others I look "bad", weird.

Wednesday: Lazy day at home.
Wrote some postcards. Trip to BigW and Woolies... the little things.

And, weird. Self-checkout: Detergent, check, kitchen-knive: assistance required!!!
She had to confirm we are age 18+!!!!

Bread for free from the reception along with a nice chat.

To those who say: why that crappy Caravan Park: Kookaburras wake us up, it smells of eucalyptus whilst watering, the ravens keep us entertained. and magpies chat along.
Or, short: Our HOME since 1999 💕

Thursday: 43C/109F, too much for our cabin, BOOM, dark again. 5 times.
I insisted on going to Hillarys for a swim. Ingo went very fast on foot. I felt my face and legs burning from the inside.
I have too much of my Dad's genes, he felt too hot at 23C/73F already...
I should've gone on my own at my own pace and I would've been fine!!

Ingo did not join the water but I met two older men. One jumped right in, the other and I .... step by painful step, until he looked me in the eye: "three, two, one.... GO!" - and in we were.
Such a joy to really SWIM again!
We had a beer and then the long awaited licorice ice-cream. What.a.disappointment!

Friday: I was sick. Never run in the heat. Sad  Ingo needed to "make a point".
I CAN stand the heat- when I go slow.Like EVERYBODY ELSE!

Weekend:Saturday: Grace & Pat picked us up and we headed to Sami and Jose for two lasagnas (one for the 5 of us and a special one for Ingo, made in ghee instead of oil).
Yummy, then fresh fruit with cream along with wine, beer and nice chats!

Sunday: Got up at 4:00 to follow Grace's tip and sit outside.
Lesson learned: Kookaburras sleep in on Sundays! And, yes, I caught a cold in the heatwave.
Sneezing, coughing and I need loads of tissues, too.
Taylor Swift-mania here (she has three shows in Melbourne). One scene was cute: a little girl was brought to her, she talked to her, gave her a hug and put her hat on her head. Happiest little girl I've ever seen.
Went to ALDI. Germany is better, BUT: I got self-raising flour!
Yes, people! Self-raising flour is still not available in Germany!!! I want to see it's magic, not do on my own...

Munch-wise a chicken I let rest on the table outside for hours:

It came hot from Woolies like this:

Just like 1995, Darwin: We used to buy four small spinach-cheese pies, ate two, put two in the car by the front window, were still hot for the night!

8-something, sun down, brought out the trash. Like walking through an oven still.
I feel for those without aircon and in tents!

The AIR had 43C/109F. The BITUMEN gives you much more...
Sami heard in the news without trees it throws back 40C! Small trees here, say,75/167 altogether. You.get. grilled. She lives here since the '80s and cannot remember a February so hot.
Be careful what you wish for! I wished for warm, hot-ish weather, but not this...

Ghostly Murals

I found this mural in the ghost town of Cook on our journey with the Indian Pacific.

And here is the original I did not see!

 There were more!

Yes, at one point Cook was that big it had a school (see recent posts for more, we took a three day ride through the Outback).

Most native English-speakers have no idea how to pronounce "Ingo", this is how 😊

As this was a school...

I Talked To Rain Man

Before I come to this subject, let me say 98% of the people we met on the Indian Pacific were friendly, respectful, fun guys!

Nobody was rich.
We all saved money for this trip and we all knew it, too.

I saw a couple and thought, "odd".
They cannot be lovers, they rather look like brother and sister  - and why not, before SIL took mine away from me we went on holiday together, also!
As adults.
Do you do that, too?

She is younger than me, her Brother, well ask, he has the number in no time of her age as he knows he is 4 years younger.
He LOVES trains!!!
He  can get VERY excited about them.

Yes, he is Rain Man.
I was astonished how very well that movie shows reality!
And thankful!

C said,  she is not his carer, she only travels with her Brother, so what?
He is a very highly functioning  autistic savant.

I am glad I saw this movie.

It was just the two of us, S and I, and the train unexpectedly stopped.
S got nervous.
You can never be really sure (as a new person) if he talks or sings to himself, but he was very clearly getting upset with the minutes passing by!

He kinda looked at me, so I said, "maybe  there is another train we have to let pass through...".
He seemed content with my "answer", but.... nothing happened!!!

He got like really nervous and upset, physically, and I had no idea what to do!
As you see, a strong man, too!

But thanks to the movie I knew:
Stay put, be just there...

A freight train rushed by, we took off again and all was good.
Phew!

I might've run off in panic for help - and those of you who met me in person know.... this was some task to manage for me!

I hope we stay in contact as his sister and I have a lot in common. So far we e-mail, they're from Melbourne.

Has a movie helped you as much as this one me?
Please, tell!
