Sadly no artist - found this mural in Wendenstrasse right by TU (technical university) - a bar.

Not to wonder. As a student I could not afford this but what I see these days what kids "allow" themselves ... I could cry.

My Mom let me prepare bread for school, and I did this for Ingo, too.

These days... kids buy at the grocery, the unhealthy, expensive stuff... "and I wonder"... 

No ear-worm intended - go crazy over SALSA! 

 

Sadly Ingo and I have a hard time dancing.

Yes, healthy for body and brain! I know... And weeeee... did we enjoy listening to this music and happiness in Cuba and Jamaica!

 

 We did enjoy those cars from afar and took but pics, especially in Varadero/Cuba.

Our school when I was little  let us write down name, address, , hobbies and we sent helium-ballons to former GDR to make friends. Mine found a child-less couple!  

And guess how many "GDR"-friends I made in my life...

 

 

 

 

Do You Got....

 Found this rather "fake-fading" sign on the way past TU (technical university).

It says "Brain against hate" - translated to English. And then it´s more or less about AI filtering such content.

Google the German words and it´s about a musician, born here in  Braunschweig, Axel Bosse, now living in Hamburg.

Psychology: dehumanization, the brain has a mechanism for hate, on it goes.
Axel Bosse sells articles against hate and the campaign he works for takes a stand against violence, online hate speech, exclusion, and discrimination.
The organization he works with, Aktion Courage e.V,. is supported by the nationwide network “Schule ohne Rassismus – Schule mit Courage” (School Without Racism – School With Courage). Bosse has been a school mentor in this network since 2016. 

Now I wonder: Is it on purpose the colors are so "thin", so "fading" - what do you think?

Is it we "accepted" hate in some way? 

And... who "hates" whom?

I bought a mobile alarm that makes a terrible sound and light when someone tries to grab me against my will.

Cause... I will not wear some Muslim cloth to cover my head.

A woolen hat against the cold, yes, but nothing religious.

In many a European country they try to even forbid those "scarfs" and yes.... the "word" integration comes to mind, somehow?

Tolerance, too. And on the latter "some" play not nice here. No hubby, "naked" head, oh-oh!

T STands For.. A Mixed Week

Of course, despite I actually do not like wine, I fell for the design and with that "drink" I join Elizabeth´s T. I mean... could you resist? The design?

Monday: I woke up grumpy! That darn alarm lock failed!!!

Hups. Nope, my bad, I woke an hour early! Happy new week then!

Never.ask.an.11-y-o... what she wished for her Birthday. She could´ve talked Chinese!

LOL. Luckily offered to talk to her older Sis - like to an adult. 

Ingo got sick from the re-heated food... I was fine until... 

 

 

Tuesday: 02:30a.m.... Hello food! Got sick, too... Night is over. Also due to itching and burning. Must be the meds.

Decluttering / making nice, laundry ... 

Wednesday: Wonderful sunshine but cold! Some people non the less in only T-Shirt and shorts, brrrr. 

Dentist, "ah, you got such beautiful teeth!" - "Thanks to you!" - she grinned.

Back home, clothes for second hand shop.

Then... Graff. They should NOT let me in. Bought two Braunschweig-books and a sewing machine.

 

 

 

Brunch: real Italian ice-cream:  Salted caramel, soooo salty and yummy! I fear they go back to Italy soon...

Second hand online bay: Girl came by to get DVDs... to watch in the original (as long as English) cause: "in German the translated jokes go all wrong!!!" 

10 951 steps. 

 

 

Thursday:    October 29th. 3 "girls" for lunch. One colleague I do not know had to make room for me (inofficial version). Maybe too early, but I.Feel.Good!!!

 

Friday: First time I went out with Gurri this season. And got smiles!! Let a car driver in weird traffic pass though. The woman took the sec to wave a thanks to me.

If you are new: The company that sold this red coat with white Polka-dots named it/her "Gurri".

She was reduced as out of "fashion" and since 8 years she brings joy on grey, cold days.

People even stop me to give me smiles! 

 

 

 

Weekend: Saturday: Tired, oh, so darn tired! And still itchy from the meds.

Dunno if that´s it, but: I.Needed.A.Pink.Donut!!!! Didn´t manage the whole thing, but, yips, body yelled: Sweets!!!

Read both Braunschweig books, loads of non-fiction parts, very interesting!

Schuberth-helmets, for example. Heimbs café, trains... 

 

Sunday: Löwenzahn is getting dumber and dumber, reckon I skip this part of my childhood for good. Sad.

Die Maus... Let us see.

Fun was: The Nacker was there. Ingo´s Bro at a very young age got trapped in it and whenever he was up to something bad parents would warn, the nacker (Nussknacker) will come! 

Munchy:

 Back from hospital days. Our room, again, was the last to be served and the potaotoe-thingys were ready to kill someone if you hit them.

But the apple sauce!!!! With cinnamon and all, to die for!

On my way I found this dragon on Altewiekring 52A.

 

Wiek is  a historical term for a trading or market settlement. This obviously was a ring around such a centre.

The “Altewiek” urban district: Braunschweig emerged in the Middle Ages from  several formerly independent districts (known as “Weichbilder”).
