Smile

I could not wait for my Adventcalendar-pressie to open – but I did. I´m an adult, right? Mature. Mostly.
So worth it!

It´s a place-mat (very likely going to the wall) saying “Please Smile. Start the day with a smile – most times it´ll smile back.”

What can I say? I smiled. Also cause it has a frog telling me to!

I thought, hmm, time for (Perth-) Christmas-earrings, huh?

And when I shortly stopped by at FB I saw:

Really, I´m not kidding you, it happened in that order!

I kissed Ingo good-bye and went outside.
Gah.
Dark, cold, windy, rainy.
At least my car was parked in our street, not long to walk!

Back at work after a day off.

An e-mail from someone I haven´t heard from in a long time, my Birthday, actually (January), and I stopped contact on purpose, too.
Hm. He called me by my name this time, not – again, I kid you not – “princess”. So… I might answer, he wished me a happy Christmas and health for 2015 – health is something we all want most, huh?

And then… an e-mail from G! Inviting us to a last BBQ this year.
Oh, it´s been years and years I went to an “Abgrillen” in December! (“Ab” = “away”, “Grillen” = BBQ).
You know… winter over here! Mulled wine is on the list, she announced (ick, who likes mulled wine?!), a warm jacket will do ;-)
Maybe a hot beer (yes. Being German)

G… was my colleague ages ago.
We weren´t friends much. But when she had a hard time separating from her husband I helped moving to the new place (on fifth floor! This woman loves books! Germany… no lift.).
We lost contact. She got back together with her Hubs, luckily, but left the company.
This summer we met at our company meeting (her Hubs is still working with us) and… she was totally different!
We sat together talking, joking, it hurt cause she reminded me so much of my Mum, also optically.
She was no longer a demanding, but caring person. I don´t want to know what happened, all I know is it changed her for the better and… I was really smiling big finding this invitation!
And said yes.

At Aldi I stood in line with a pack of 4 yoghurts - and the woman in front of me asked me if I wanna go first!
Smile! Yes!

I needed to scan something and by chance took a broken, old pic to give it a try, too.

Man, what these scanners can do these days, huh?
I know, I´m not supposed to do this, but it didn´t hurt anyone.

Seesh. I remember back then when I had Ingo´s first scanner.
I put it full of pics, 6, I guess. Pressed “scan” and went grocery shopping.
Really, it took so long!

Ahhh, smile big for progress and friendly people!

Only 4 minutes of search and I just got a place to park my car, too!

Smile :-)

Addendum: Place found, right above a card saying, "there are days full of luck - think back to those if you have a bad day":

If you care about the salad-thingy, please read the comment to this post - thanks Grace, I am a happy salad now (still a tad afraid of Big´s words not coming true...)

You have to smile at that place-mat!
Lucky day for you - invitation, email from a long lost friend and jumping the queue at the supermarket.
Christmas spirit maybe!

Yes, that was a lucky day - and I kinda do believe it matters. When you smile you get it back, no?

Any idea how to switch off the validation???
