Thursdays Was Movie Night II

For part I see here, if you like.
When we were in Darwin again in 1999... oh, boy.
1995 we - like many other travelers - slept near the public showers across lake Andrew.
You behave well, it´s OK.

1999 we did the same, Night Patrol was a new thing, they told us off, next time it will be a fine of  $200, then 1000... but we waited for the beer can regatta!
What to do?

If you plan to travel: Air Strip!!! You can safely sleep there for as long as you want, it´s but 50 km to Darwin ... skip the beer can regatta, it was boring, at least back then, BUT - in Casuarina we saw this poster featuring our fav monster, Elmo!

Elmo and Kuhni sure were with us and looked forward to seeing the movie, too!

 Fast forward to WA, Kalgoorlie.
We were the only adults without kids standing in line for the movie
But we had the star with us. You do know Sesame Street?
I grew up with the American version, my poor Bro got the German one and had to watch without Dad and I...

Such a cute and clever movie!
It starts with Ernie and Bert introducing us to the film.

Ernie : "Have you ever seen a movie with a bad ending?!"
Bert, without hesitation: "Titanic."
(With a dot at the end)

You guess who laughed, it was not the kids ... 🀣

Elmo asked the audience to help him and together we managed to blow 100 raspberries in only 30 seconds so Elmo could pass the Queen of Trash´s ground.
Really, watch the movie, it´s cuuuuute.

We certainly had to get Elmo his best friend later, Blanket.

So, Blanket, too, helped Ingo cooking (don´t tell, she´s but a piece of a towel...).

Oh, darn you, Corinna. No more cinema, no more traveling...

Glad we have a few pics (this was pre-digital photography and we had no idea if the films make it through the heat - gets easily 50+C in the parked car).

Henry 🦁 ... He´s a tad jealous and hides.
(Well, not really. Have you seen the cap Ingo wears? Yes, The Lions!)

I just left Hildesheim, having finished my studies and lived really only in the car (OK, my belongings were in Ingo´s Grandma´s house) and Ingo lived with his Grandma in RhΓΌden.

We had no idea we once really make it to Henry!
I had friends there forever already and this was my wish, Braunschweig

Dreams really do come true...

I hate ending on a sad note, but...

If you read the article on Braunschweig... it´s shocking that ONE DUMB MAN granted another VERY DUMB, SMALL, UGLY Austrian man German citizenship and he then blew the world into pieces.
This does stand for ONE DUMB man, not this city.
Here now you find research, science and friendly people - and the nicest, CUTEST lion in the world... Look forward to Monday, just an hour ago I found a new Ente!

Yes, yes, yes! And unlike Titanic it has a happy ending, too! :-)

Cute story about the movie. I used to watch Sesame Street with my kids. Very entertaining.

Yes, we still watch when we´re in Perth :-)

My kids like Elmo and Sesame Street. I can do without it but I do love IZ and his rendition of "Over the Rainbow."

The best version of Somewhere over the rainbow, IMO.

I've always loved that version of the song. So simple and honest. I do miss going to the movies!

the Elmo movie is news to me.

I love Bert's answer to Ernie's question. 😺 My mother hated the song "Somewhere over the Rainbow" from the Wizard of Oz. She wanted to see the movie, but my dad took another girl! Then because he had already seen the movie, he didn't want to go with my mother.

Nicole, I love that song, too (and Elmo).

Bill, YES! Though, the guys on Transperth did a good job, too, and there was an ad we saw in Perth also with this beautiful song.

____

Spare Parts and Pics, yes, so sad he died so young.

____

Elizabeth, give it a go! Blow raspberries :-)

CJ, yes, "Titanic" - no kid had an idea but there was loads of laughter.
Huh, what a story about your parents, but very obviously it turned out the way your Mum wanted 😍

You can't beat Sesame Street, especially Elmo. Nice movie night pick.
