So. I´m with those who are "Connecting Specialists to Pioneering Projects".
12 000 worldwide, sounds a bit scary (a lot).
I was there 10:52 and the secretary greeted me with "Good morning! ๐"
Darn me blurted out... "you still say 'Good morning`now?".
Hrgggh. Mouth, wait till the brain is through with thinking!!!
The "pressie":
So I show up properly at the customer.
In case you are interested (so many wished me luck!):
We kept the distance and Teamleader said, "OK, we can take our masks off now."
We talked for 45 minutes, I signed a felt 1000 times and when done he said, "OK, now we can switch from the official `Sie` to the casual `du`, I´m happy you join us."
Another very good sign:
They wrote "Ingenieur", not "Ingenieurin" etc at my old company ๐
I worked 17 years with mainly men only, plus... I fought a lot for - in the old customer´s portal - to not go with "Mitarbeiterinnen und Mitarbeiter".
That´s redundant. No more info, just more to write and read.
Well. At the new customer... mostly women, I was told.
Let´s see how that goes.
Going ... it would be but a 4km walk! Or... will be.
As some of you asked. I´m supposed to generate handbooks (on railway-developments, as far as I know - I´ll meet the customer in 2 weeks or December) and translate them to English.
Thursday I´ll have another job-interview on testing.
I´ll take it and will be honest, right?
Say "thank you, but I just signed another job-offer" and that I´m still interested for the future, right?
That´s what my T aka "old" Teamleader suggested yesterday.
He´s always there for me with advice, too.
What would you do? I do not lie...
Henry ๐ฆ ...
I think I did everything right.
Said I declined two jobs (would´ve been in Wolfsburg) and I am glad I did.
He said, "I´m also glad ๐".
Corinna... gave me another time out - and I needed that!
Lived! Learned so much new stuff!
This, certainly, is for Tom´s Signs2!

Does this mean you got the job? IF so, congrats. A VERY GOOD sign.
Yes, I really got the job - now I have to proof I can do it - scary.
Well, mitarbeiter Frau Iris Flavia Kaiser: you're doing very well and you look great
So glad you were warmly welcomed into the new job Iris!
Golly now you get another interview, it's always that way, you look for ages and nothing and then everything comes at the same time!
Looks like a good welcome to your new job. You can do it. Trust in yourself. Wish you all the best in your new job.
Bertiebo, yes, that is kinda important to me, hope it will be like that at the customer, too!

Sami, yes, crazy. Reckon that´s Murphy´s law with the other company...

Nancy, thank you, I will try... darn low self esteem, that.
:-)
Sounds like you found a good place to work. We used to always say good morning to each other school. It is polite. But with mail engineers, they just think that way. I'm married to and related to a bunch of them, so I know what you mean when they don't say that. Good luck day 2. hugs-Erika
Oh, they all said ... oh. I don´t even know now!
Either "welcome" or "good day".
I think nearly lunch time a "good morning" is a tad too late, no?
At my old company all said "good morning", too - if morning! ;-)
Other "hi", "moin", which does not mean "Morgen" but simply "hello".
You say in the North, at the fish-heads, mainly (Emden etc) and once a customer from there called me late in the day and I really wished him "Guten Morgen"! LOL and hugs
...Iris, this is so exciting, I am happy for you!
Good on you and here's wishing you best wishes always!
Ausgezeichnet on your new job and title! As to the other interview, I wouldn't say anything unless asked. Take the test do the interview. Can't hurt. They will need time to look at other candidates. If they come back with an offer, you can always say you took another position and thank them for their time.
Tom, thank you!

Good you made the right decision. Your life will be happier that way. Always good to see good signs.
I would be honest with the other people too. They will appreciate it and maybe remember in the future.

Useful :-)
I am so very thrilled for you, Iris. It sounds wonderful, as you are being welcomed, respected and made part of the team. Probably smart for the interview for the future but I think this seems like such a good fit for you. At long last!
So all's looking good!
Yay!!
I hope you enjoy the new job and the next interview. ๐
Woo-Hoo! It's official. You have a job! :) :)
I would do the same as you at the next interview, let them know you are still interested for the future.
Very nice pressie. I have one of those somewhere. Never use it.
I am so pleased for you.
I wish you all the best in your new job.
All the best Jan
Your new job / teamleader / environment sound so good! It sounds interesting as well. And why not go to the other interview? If you feel good about it, go!
