There - I peeked over at Rain´s what the theme might be... And had to laugh a tad bitterly. Day ten in a row this song is not heard here...
We´re far from a Heat Wave - mostly around or even below 20C / 68F - right now 11C / 51F, grey, sometimes thunder, a bit of rain here and there. And no summer-weather in sight.
This...
... feels like a long time ago.
Whilst Greece, Italy, Portugal... are in a real heat-wave with woods burning since days, properties and lives lost.
What crazy weather is this.
Instead of yummy summer-fruits one longs for hot soups.
Or, Pizza Muffins... I´ll have the last one from last baking galore (can´t remember when that was) for lunch...
Recipe here.
When I have a mini-holiday I´ll have to bake big again.
Alas. Hope you do have a summer.
Glad we can look forward to February/March where we turn our backs to nasty-cold Germany and head to Perth (and Adelaide)!

Bought this set just to find out I cannot crochet - more difficult than I thought.
Ingo finds no colleagues who could help. I think the set is still at Ingo´s workplace, how sad.
Wish us luck summer comes back, I love heat waves - summer for me only starts at 30C / 86F...
And here is River´s idea, much cooler, The Lovin' Spoonful:

Your summer is sounding very similar to our winter! At least Oz should be fine and sunny for you :)
..we are having the heat wave that you aren't. Life isn't fair!
There are tutorials on you tube that can teach you how to crochet, my daughter "no-one" learned from thereand is making herself a giant sofa blanket.
I like that song, but not by Joe Cocker, I like "The Lovin' Spoonful" version, find that on you tube too, it's much more upbeat.
I need to do some cooking for the freezer again soon too, I have been eating all the food in there and all that's left is one chicken schnitzel and some frozen peas and beans and a half loaf of sliced bread.
Wow, you got a lot of depth with your berry drawing Iris. Your drawings are just getting better and better. Its been busy here so I'm keeping this short. Hugs-Erika
Margaret, oh, yes, I SO look forward to Oz!
____
Tom, yes, it´s not fair...
____
River, oh, too much trouble learning to crochet as the lion was all I was interested in...
But thank you, yes, I added that song, too :-)
Great, now I grave Schnitzel!
____
Erika, oh, thank you, and I do mean that! This is pure motivation! Hugs
The pizza muffin looks yummy!
Lovely art and pizza muffin, you eill like my soup today then
Oh, how I loved Summer in the City, but it's the Loving Spoonful version I know. I remember when it came out. It's the perfect song for us right now in our steamy urban heat.
magiceye, it IT yummy and so easy to make!
____
Christine, thank you and yes to your soup, too!
____
Divers and Sundry, glad you liked the song and enjoy your heat!
No heat wave here, cloudy and a little misty, 17C
Ack! What is with summer... Yupp, 17 here now, too.
The pizza muffin looks good.
We continue to have what for us is a typical winter- hot and muggy. But August sees the welcome slide towards better temperatures.
It is 30˚C here and really humid so it sure feels like summer although it feels like we have had a bit of rain most days so you need a umbrella with you.
That is my favourite summer song, Iris.
We🇹🇹 are having some rain these days. Yesterday was thunder-ry
Happy you dropped by my blog Iris
Much💜love
no chance of a heatwave here, this morning it's a very crisp 1 degree celsius, we have frost on the grass. There are plenty of easy crochet tutorials on youtube, thats how I learned.
William, the muffin is really so easy to make even I could do it! :-)
Beginner here...
Let us HOPE for August!!

RedPat, lucky you! I LOVE summer-rain! Double-lucky! :-)
Glad I... River and I hit it with that song for you!
____
Gillena, we had rain, too. But COLD, brrr.... Much love back!
____
Carola, das set ist für 8-Jährige!! Argh.
____
Amy, you have the excuse of having winter... I do not. Argh.
Learn for one Lion? In my stay-at-home-holiday (maybe - so mcuh else to do!)
I forgot that Joe Cocker did a cover of Summer in the City. Good version! Glad things aren't too hot for you there. Pretty toasty where I live!
Glad? I´m freezing...
And I thought Joe Cocker was the original...
Thank YOU for pointing me in the right direction!
Blogger does not let me know of new comments, ack!
The Lovin' Spoonful take it easily and I love the song. Sorry you aren't getting a summer though I wouldn't wish a heat wave on you. We are hot, but not too hat like some places. Global Warming is raising it's ugly head and people still don't get it. So when everything burns down they will say "What Happened?", if they are still around that is. I love your fruit picture and your fruit ... good for you for sure, but also delicious. And yes, I will take one of your Pizza muffins ... Wishing you some warm and sweaty days, Iris ...
