We Never Give You Back

Have you seen the lille Miele-bear in the last post?

This is him - yes, we are crazy like that, he came with us to Varadero.

And to Perth :-)

This was 2006 and that´s what people who have no kids do, I guess ;-)

He and Elmo (and Blanket - please give it a go, it´s such a very cute story - we helped with the 100 raspberries btw!) did some travelling, but now they have retired and just sit above the TV and yes...

We certainly... oh, gotta go do the laundry!

If I remember right btw... in Subi they have a Miele store, too :-)
I´ll go check come January :-)

Interesting fact, btw: "In 2007, Miele was given an award for being the most successful company in Germany that year, beating the previous year's winner Google, which placed second, and Porsche, which came in third." (Wiki, see link above).

Yeah, we don´t buy (always) crap, do we? ;-)

Friend(iene) - And It Happened That Way

It was so funny.
It was Cuba, 2010. We sat at a small table and had as much food as we could eat (read: not an overload, as most (keep in mind... Cubans were/are poor) - and we NEVER do this anyways, nor do we complain there is no Leberwurst in Jamaica (yes, I overheard this!)).
It was an "all inclusive" hotel in Varadero.

Suddenly a young woman popped up and asked if we like to join her and her Mum.

They, too, only had as much as they could eat, they were from Ontario, Canada.

We all clicked, the "Mum", V, is Ingo´s age (yes!!!) and we had a blast!

The Daughter, T, (who by now has two beautiful, cute kids!!!), she invented the word friendiene for me after I explained in German you have "Freund" for male and "Freundin" for female.

Do I spare you this?
No :-)

About every 10 minutes he had to check if everything was still in place in the front...

Oh, by golly, that is 8 years ago already, how come time runs so fast???
We had three weeks together, it was fun.

We´re still "friends" on FB, but we never saw each other again, sadly.

I´ll never forget, too, how, when we said good bye for good at brekkie, the cook left his station to hug me!

Right in the middle of the room, too!
Where everybody walks by. LOL.

All... most?... just took his food without even looking at him (and yes, I had an eye on this! - I ALWAYS greeted him, said thank you - I´m old, I was taught to be polite and treat people as people. Doesn´t seem to be the rule anymore...) - no one ever tipped him but us.

You do know I hate being a POI and he made me (people stopped "munching" their heaps down to watch, ohhhhh, my!), but it was sweet, too, because it was just a big "thanks".
He sure is in my heart.

As my friendienes are :-)

Aaand! My therapist said you can see I´m off meds!

Aaaand we went to Schadt´s for a Currywurst Pommes (I can EAT!!!!), paid, said good-bye and suddenly were both grabbed in the back (boy I can jump, LOL)!
Was the boss, A. :-)
She hugged us both big :-)

Addendum. "Siegfried" stayed by himself. And this is actually very sad, no?
Maybe he had a big heart, too, maybe he was loving and fun.
But due to his string tanga no one wanted to find out and he never let go of that darn thing AS IN put on another layer...

And It Happened That Way

I´m starting a new series, as we talked about it this weekend.

Share, please! Do tell, too!

The first one goes to a lovely old man.

It was on the way to Townsville.

In the last place that had a Big W Ingo bought a thermometer, that we hung onto the middle in the driver´s place.

Rest area.

Ingo took said thermometer and hung it on the roof railing, telling me - who sat firm in a chair, writing a letter to my family - to NOT close the door... thermometer, right?

Ingo was doing (whatever), came around and threw the door close.

I can still SO laugh my head off!
The look in his face when the metal left his hand!!!

BOOOM!
Thermometer broke.

So in Townsville we stopped to ask if there is a Big W and that person, an elderly man, said yes, told us where it is and asked if we´d like a peek into the past.

SURE we did!

He showed us his own lille museum, explained and ... owwww....

He never wanted any money, he said we made his day (and he made ours, I still talk about it, right?).

If I tell ... no WHEN I tell this story people do think I make it up - but I do not.

It happened just like this.

We later went to Big W and got a new thermometer.
42C, it said :-)

Please, if you have a story like this, share and let me know, OK?

From The Happy One

Ingo wants his bread from Mechau.
So I walk the 30 minutes one way (well, and the 30 minutes back, too ;-)...).

Came back and met my neighbour - AGAIN!
And totally out of place, too (Mühlenpfordstrasse).

We chatted along and in the end she pointed at me (I wore a tight shirt - grabbed "something" and then thought, aw, well, no one looks at me anyways).
She said.... "You look good!.... You should gain some weight, though."

Hahaha, I told her I could not do any sports for two months and should rather loose some and she replied, "no, there is a real woman here" :-)

Yes. I am depressed, huh?

Next went to Rewe to grab a beer. (It´s hot!!)
They do not differ.
They have Wolters, alright. But I want Wolters Märzen!

Hiiiigh up they had single bottles.
I tried to grab one.

A man came up and asked if I need help :-)

Yah, I am depressed, huh, just too many nice people around!

Did I ever, ever mention I love my city (and it´s people)?

I stopped the darn meds against doctor´s order altogether.
I feel good, buuut!
My dry hair that fell out and needed no washing, guess!
How can 5 mg of that drug make this?
I need to wash my hair!
And maybe I keep it, too!

P.S. I think I´ll order a pizza from Dominos (have a voucher, too) - and start training again tomorrow. Compromise, right? (I do NOT want to gain weight, I have a mirror! LOL)

Here, Kittie

Pic taken in Westbahnhof.
As usual... artist unknown. Is that a German thing to stay unknown?

Taking part again in Sami´s COLOURFULWORLD Monday Murals :-)

You Have But One Life

They say blow and make a wish.

I did.

Will it come true or is it just a stupid flower?

Addendum

Sorry, this says nothing.

We got this at Magni-Fest after a chat - a long chat with a lonely old man.
Ingo gave him a craft beer, Ingo can be the best man in the world.

He also bought four (!!!) tickets for this.
It was PACKED!

We tried but could not get two seats side by side. :-(

Second time a kid was quicker.
WHAT WAS I SUPPOSED TO DO???

Yes, I´m taller but WHAT???

I can do NOTHING right these days.

Wrong

I´m just sad and sorry.
Sorry.

The burger was very yummy and I can eat!

I do NOT take any meds despite doctor´s orderd (they´re no "gods", are they?)

This is the worst time in my life, hope it´s over now for good! :-)

That´s How It Rolls

So I saw my doc yesterday.
I was supposed to be the first, I was second, though, and she was late, too.

Me, on the other hand... Hello Dad - "better 10 minutes early than 5 minutes late".
Thanks to my kindle I had at least something to do other than listening to that poor man who had to burp.

Oh, that must be awfully embarassing! LOL.
First burp and me and the other woman waiting sat there with open mouths and wide eyes.

Well. Long story short: I had it all printed out about the darn citalopram and that scientifically you cannot say if the diagnosis is depression or burn out.
She would not buy it, I have depression (no, I do not!).

I got new meds, said for 2 weeks I take not a thing, I want my body clean and she was OK with that.
Then I start very, very slowly and the moment I feel it´s not helping I let go of it.

I am allowed to find a new psychologist and that will take time, so what I....
Someone might laugh now, I do indeed have thyme time here in Germany :-)

Signed sick till end of September (for now).
AAAaaaand: I´m off the hook for now! My doc wrote that due to sickness I am not able to deliver my tax return to the finance office in time.
Will bring it in on Monday and then let´s see.

Do you think I rob the system?
I worked 17 years and I see sooooo many who never ever did or will do, so I don´t feel bad.

Plus... those were horrible 8 weeks!
I´m "sick and tired".

And releived.
