FFO And Smiles

 

Got up at 5 a.m. and finished this beautiful Granma (still sitting here in my PJs, too).

I have the day off.

Plan: Recycle, grocery-shopping, cleaning, baking.

My life is so exciting!

 

With this Hippo-face I join Nicole´s FFO :-)

 I had my pink phase in my late 20´s. maybe that´ll return (even my bike was pink, not my hair, though).

That´s how it looks like in a condo where engineers live ;-)

There was something quirky with the electric ways - it´s from the 1960´s - Ingo found a quick work-around...  literally.

Oh, I have learned:

 

Step by step: As you maybe know ex-chancellor Merkel took the Diploma-Engineer away from Germany, dumbest idea ever?

Like when the British after WWII  gave "Made in Germany" to label this country as bad - turned out to be a label for good quality.

 

My customer is only 26 years old and told me he is a bachelor - back in my dinosaur-days that was the first step to your diploma - "Vor-Diplom", "pre-diploma".

He said he´s not sure if to do his master, as he has a well payed job.

 

Then he told me, "Hey, I don´t know how you IT-guys handle it, I´m an engineer".

WHAT????

(Officially I´m now a "Documentation and Translation Manager", but everyone is a "manager" these days and jobs jump all the time).

I stayed calm and answered "I am also a Dipl-Engineer to that IT-thing".

And I was not amused, told my friend fK.

She googled. As bachelor is reached at 2 semester+ he is officially an engineer. Not a Dipl.-Engineer, but an Engineer.

Why waste time for a master if you have a well-payed job? 

In a couple of years no one will ask about your studies anyways...

 

This is way more clever, no? Bye-bye dinosaur!!

Today I join Rain´s Art and Dinner Date with "Herbs".

Mine are doing well despite the crappy, un-summerly weather.

For lunch I had:

Here in Northern Germany you call them Käsespätzle, "Käsespätzle (German for "spätzle with cheese",... or Kasspatzln in Tyrol) is a traditional dish of the German regions of Swabia, ..." (wiki)

When living in flat sharing there was one guy from Swabia who called them Kaas-Spatzen and he really made them from scratch for all of us - YUM!

These are bought, I added an egg into which I mixed chicken-breast and ... well, cheese (Tilsit). Also a bit yummy and FAST. Still loads of work, luckily! So... fast is good!

In Swabia you also say "Teppsch" for "Decke", aw, well.

We figured everything out!

We care and eat not much meat but if... quality counts.

Monday: Work, chats and .. it warmed up!!! And Ingo complained. Too hot at his work-place, not hot enough at home for me!

And, hahaha, NOW they advertise "Sleepy Hollow" on TV 11:45 p.m.

Pfffblt - I watch in the original whenever I WANT!

 

Tuesday: Had a question and teams-ed my teamlead. Oh boy!! "I missed you!!!"

LOL, sometimes I have a question straight away, which is 06-something a.m. and she said she´s still half asleep still, so I waited - also I had no questions...

We had a nice, long chat. And my problem got solved. And she said I do a good job. Phew (it´s hard times atm, so this really was a great relief!!!)

 

Wednesday: I´d sent mC tractor pics via private account on Friday, see here, if you like.

BOOM, he called, in his "fish-head"-accent -  a nice very early start into the day!

 

Thursday: Customer-project not booked in yet, went to my teamlead after "waking up-time" - "I was long awake, just not able to work", she replied.

Cooking tips from admin mT - yummy egg with bread I had cause I had no time... but I know for when I have time, right?

 

Friday: Day off, start with The Simpsons. Lisa runs away from a wild, seemingly aggressive aries, knocks in panic at Mr. Burns door and yells "wilde Bestie!!! (wild biest!!!).

Burns answers as if he was addressed: "Liberaler Zwerg..." (liberal dwarf....) and let´s her in.

I LOVE The Simpsons!

BBQ!!!!! Firefighter, Cigar and 7-year old Cuban rum. Sometimes I have clever ideas, huh? 

Summer is rare here...

Weekend: Saturday: Grocery, went to the self-check out and said "hi" to the supervising-lady, well, I always do. 

She was new and surprised. 

Those are human beings  -  I ALWAYS say hi.

Nice BBQ and loads of talk.

Sunday: A WONDERFUL fairy-tale.

Just... it´s July already and 16C, cloudy is not really summery... Summer made a short visit and is gone again....
