So, I turned on our IKEA-oven.
After preparing, preparing, preparing.
As I said to my T... loose your job, you find other work...
Adriano and I went to the kitchen, with Bose 🎧 of course - sadly he will never be here in person, the wonderful Adriano Celentano...
Just imagine!!!! He´s the age my Dad would be.
I never cooked or baked with my Dad.
And Ingo´s Dad? I watched him baking us a... tongue (brrrr).
OK, it was tender. Yummy, but your brain, mine at least... said NOOOOOoooo... don´t bite your tongue!!!
Which tongue is who´s?! Still cow´s or mine?!
(My Brother once bit his tongue two thirds in an accident!)
Anyhows.
Our oven takes ages to heat up (we have a quick small one for Toast Hawaii and such).
So once I start this oven it´s a galore. I´m frugal...
First: Jalapeno-Cheese-Cookies.
Then: Pizza-Muffins.
I was already done by all the yummy smell!
Last: Lasagna.
Soooo much cheese in the making! Ate half a carrot, added the other half to the lasagna-sauce, and was done.
Not hungry.
Just satisfied by the looks, smell and satisfying work.
(Plus... accidentially licked my fingers. Jalapeno, eh?! For crying out loud!!! 🤣)
Best diet. Cook and bake for others/neighbor/later.
How can any chef ever get fat?!
Not that I call myself a chef!!!! I´m a tiny beginner still.
Plus... not cheating here... for brekkie I had the rest of Ingo´s yummy Labskaus ...
Henry 🦁
In.The.Face!
I felt sooooo full and had eaten nothing since early morning! Crazy, huh?
Same with you?
Went up to my dear W.
Actually just wanted to hand over the pappmaché-plate with the bakings but he looked so sad and lonely and happy seeing me, asking me inside...
Without masks we sat at the big table (distance, right!) and he talked his soul out.
And there was my other pappmaché-plate from after Christmas, neatly decorated. It broke my heart.
LOL, glad I was not hungry (he tasted the still warm lasagna right away and said, hmmm, but the cookie from hell... sat there after a bite, LOL!
2 hours and only cause then he had to leave to YAY see his wife.
I dunno.
He is always VERY direct. I like that.
Think Ingo and I are the only ones. No one else in this house seems to care for / about him.
And yes. He has two kids.
They tried to throw him into a nursing home. That´s what he told me, at least.
"Met" his son once, speeding to our house in his car whilst we talked, honked and W ran to jump in there.
Instead of stopping, saying Hi, thanks for taking time with my Dad... OR SOMETHING POLITE LIKE THAT.
Moron!
My Brother said I might be lonely at old age having no kids.
Hm.
W?
Two kids.
Has Ingo and me.
And lasagna, it is a dream, I mixed up two recipes and likely cannot repeat it, darn that!
This is for Elizabeth and Bleubeard´s "T Stands For Tuesday"
And here is my entry for it, it´s T-Day, right? Ingo wanted me to post Teewurst:
Wiki says: "The name, which means tea sausage, is said to derive from the habit of serving it in sandwiches at teatime."
How many Henries do we have, I tried to capture first pic:
Journal for Eileen, right...
W secretly put an Easter-Bunny in front of our door - darn it, I nearly stepped on that!
He wrote his name on both sides so I don´t miss it, so cute (a real man can take "cute").
At the grocery.... The butcher, SO NICE! Then the cash-out-guy, too, peeps, go shopping very early morno and peeps are nice!
Needed to go again and the cash-out-girl, lovely.
AND!
I´m here, not in hospital, YIKES - there was ice, so slippery, you would´ve laughed seeing me nearly fly, waving my arms for balance.
Next day brightest sun, then hail! And another nice sales girl at the grocery.
Yes, lockdown, but grocery is open.
I listened to Stevenson and made a bucket list and Ingo cut my hair, yay, after three years this was due! Also was in town... ghost town, pics to come...

I remember tea-wurst, I liked it better than lieberwurst? (Liverwurst)
I hope you have some young friends to visit when you get old as W has you and Ingo.
Lieber Leberwurst!
Sorry, you made me laugh! I think I´ll now call it Lieberwurst, sounds so much nicer, thank you! :-)
Yes, let´s hope for caring people! W told me so much bad stuff of the guys supposed to care for his wife I nearly cried. They even don´t speak German, all cheap, cheap, cheap here in Germany.
Ingo´s doctor at the hospital... no German, no English, not even French. How can they work here?
To end with a smile... I´ll get Lieberwurst, I like that, too (even though I know liver is an organ for the "rubbish").
Aaah the lasagne looks delicious!!!!
Gosh I thought I'd clicked on to Jamie's page for sure Iris. I bet Ingo is loving all this delicious cooking you are doing, maybe not the cookies from hell 😉 W is so lucky to have you downstairs, how sweet of him to leave you an Easter egg.. I'm sure you enjoy those conversations as much as he does 💜
Bertiebo it is to drool for! And I know what´s in there!
____
Grace, Ingo hates Lasagna. But (more for me), hehe, thank you, I owe Jamie and you just gave him credit! 😁 Not the cookies, though! The lady said 40g, I took 20 and weeeeee...
W is sweet, if also sad and at times angry at life, which is understandable.
...I'll have the lasagna please!
Granted, just come over :-)
Wow, so much yummy food this week! Looks like you've been busy baking and that lasagna looks so delicious too and I'd love to try the T-werst too, never heard of it before but I bet it's nice served with a beer or two ...lol 😉. Great journaling and I'm glad that you're ok after the slippery ice, winter seems to be still hanging on - I hope you get spring weather soon! Loved your Henry photos and your drawings are amazing! Have a wonderful week and sending you Happy T Day wishes! Hugs, Jo x
Jo, yes, a beer not tea with the Teewurst (we eat that in the evening, too).
Yes. I´m REALLY glad I managed to NOT fall, by golly!
The downside of going early in the morning 😉 Seeesh!!!! I had tomatoes in my backpack, too, would´ve been ketchup! Hugs from here x
Your food is getting more delicious by the week! Your lasagna looks exactly like it should be. Well done. If Ingo doesn't like it, I will have a piece with you.
It's really lovely that you go and see W every now and then and bring him something yummy. I'm sure he appreciates it. All you need to do is listen.
I remember T/Wurst from my childhood. I'm not a fan really.
Your drawing of the Henries is lovely. Keep drawing please!
Happy T-Day,
Stay healthy,
Hugs,
Lisca
O you got me hungry now!
Relaxed Henries look chilled!
Lisca, I really found great recipes and thanks to those the lasagna came out great!
Still have some in the freezer (haha, Corinna, I´d invite you but "she" is here as in our world).
Yes, W, you should meet him, you´d care, too :-)
Henry says thank you! Hugs!
____
magiceye, beam over, still some lasagna left!
Henry´s too chilled for now so... hurry ;-)
I love lasagna.
I want to relax with the Henries but first must clean under the sink in the bathroom. Hotter than Hell cookies? No thank you, but the lasagna looks yummy. So kind of you to spend time with W. You earn points for good deeds and W. Passes the time and is not so lonely. Win-Win. Happy T Day
Good morning, you are making some wonderful foods-looking delicious
William, who does not (apart from Ingo).
____
CJ, I should copy you, the board under the sink is a mess. Toothbrushes, and I don´t even-know-whats in there!
You´d love to meet W, it´s a win-win for sure!
____
Kathy, I´m learning, huh?
Tea sausage to go with tea? That's different. I know madeira cake, tea cake, and coffee cake to go with those things. And apple cake, chocolate cake, and cinnamon cake flavored with those things. But sausage? I don't think English has done that!
be well... mae at maefood.blogspot.com
such an adventurous array of food! Not so sure I'd do well with the jalapenos though:)
Cute drawings in your planner pages. And glad you did not hurt yourself so bad during the outing on ice covered sidewalks. Happy T day!
ooooo, that lasagna! yummm :) This year's weather has been an experience, hasn't it! from one extreme to another.
Happy T Tuesday
Loving all the food you prepared, especially the lasagna. I think I'll pass on the cookies, though. I like sweet cookies, not savory.
Henry is looking really good in all his iterations. Nice of you to spend time with W. He is not so lonely after visiting with you, I'm sure. And I always enjoy reading your calendar.
How sweet you shared more than one drink for T this Tuesday, Iris Thanks for sharing your cooking, your calendar, your sweet Henry, and your drinks with us for T this Tuesday.
Iris your cooking all looks delicious , we love lasagne, very tasty. My husband loves liver sausage but not me. He also loves tongue, reminds him of his mum who would cook it for the family but couldn’t bring herself to eat it, because of where it came from, !
You are very kind visiting W, so sad when people are lonely especially when they actually have kids.
Take care, happy T day
Jan x
My dad always said that about having no kids, being lonely. But I know people with kids who never see them so as sad as that is, well, having kids doesn't mean you won't be lonely. I had one and my parents thought that wasn't enough. I needed another. And they wanted me to live across the street from them. They never did like the idea that I chose my own life. Oh well, it was my choice. Your cooking looks great. You have been very experimental. I think it looks good, except maybe the hot peppers. Just a little bit please. Hope you are having a wonderful T day Iris. Hugs-Erika
I'm always impressed by your cooking and also by the attention you give to dear W. ;-)
Sad about your friend, who has 2 kids that are not nice to him. But, the lasagna looked good.
Your food looks delicious - but I think I will miss on those cookies! :))
What time is dinner usually.
Coffee is on and stay safe
Mae, I can´t imagine this, either, brrr... It was the Germans... of course! And no... we don´t wear Lederhosen, that´s Bavaria. ;-)
____
Linda, the cookies are a pain, but I´ll eat them.
I wasn´t hurt at all, I maybe just made someone watching laugh! Was quite a lille show.
____
Divers and Sundry - 0C, sunny, it´s plain crazy!
____
Elizabeth, no one likes my cookies, LOL! Henry says thank you and W... I hope I make a little difference.
Your T-days are always fun and you really helped me lots along the way with this, cooking, drinking and art-wise (boy I do buy funny drinks just to show here! And that is fun!).
____
Jan, the tongue-thing made me laugh. (I like liverwurst as un-logical that is).
Yes. Very sad with W´s kids.
____
Erika, you have kids? I think I didn´t understand.
No, it´s never a guarantee for not being lonely. Who knows where my Nieces will go some day and then... Hope they do not turn out like W´s kids, don´t think so. That arrogant "boy"... honking!!!
Hugs and to friends!
____
RedPat, if my Mum could read your words! I was banned from the kitchen!
W is nice. You would like him, also.
____
gigi, yes to both. The first made me so sad.
____
Margaret, who ever thought I might cook and bake and people even like it?!
Apart from the cookies, LOL!
____
Dora, I can eat Pizza for breakfast ;-)
Tea sausage does not sound appetizing. I love both of those things but not together. I am sensing a theme with your food- hot! I love spicy things but not too hot. I will admit that those cookies look more like biscuits to me. But everything else sounds delicious!
Love your journal pages, as always. Such a great documentation of everyday life.
Happy belated Tea Day,
Kate
What a nice yummy post. My daughter and I were talking about beef tongue today and how we miss eating it. My Mexican FIL taught me how to cook it and ohhh it is sooo darn good. Where I live the stores do not sell it. Cooked right it is the best. Your lasagna looks amazing as do the cookies. Be careful out there on that ice. I really enjoyed this post.Have a great day.
omg cow's tongue. I'm convinced it was a war time thing, my late nana use to serve it up every Sunday as part of lunch, ewww
Lots of yummy stuff here!
Jalapeño cookies and pizza muffins sound GOOD! :D
I see you are having fun cooking.
Enjoy & take care. :)
Oh My Goodness! You have been so busy in the kitchen - apart from the cookies from hell everything looks great!
Your friend W is lucky to have you to look out for him!
Love seeing you journal, so colourful!, Belated Happy T Day, Chrisx
