I sketched this last summer.
With this I join Nicole with FFO.
Ingo had and has the days off. I needed to see the doc.
When I came back I found this.
Why bother and put him safely to the ground first.
Accidents happen but...
The man who always warns me to properly take care of things...
As if that was not bad enough I asked Ingo to stay home till I am back because I wait for a parcel, which he confirmed. And left. For a frog-replacement, which is not possible. The parcel now is a 2km+ one way for me today come lunchtime. And I wait for more parcels.
ONCE I order something.
Peanut is taken care of, though:
And my Sweet King now moved... not to the bin but here:
He´s taking a rest.
And that plant-thingy finally has to carry someone.
Always try and see the good.
I still can join Annie´s Smiles with a wonderful smile, turn on the sound:
The most wonderful summer rain with thunder and later real lightning and ka-BOOMs.
I have those tin-buckets upside-down to hear the rain better.
A couple of times I lived under a roof and heard the rain.
It was so loud here, jealous no-balcony-no-satellite rich neighbor came looking what the NOISE is.
HA, I am ALLOWED to do this at that time of the early evening!
I love, love, love summer rain! ๐งก๐๐๐๐
Managed to bring the young poppies to safety first and btw Poppies...
Pop in tomorrow for another HUGE Smile!
I opened the balcony door, dragged Emil (IKEA chair) in front and enjoyed the show.

Too bad!! But keep smiling!
Those tin buckets are VERY loud and quite different from rain on a roof. Can the Frog King be fixed? With strong glue? I would at least try if the broken off pieces were big enough.
So sad about the Frog King, but he seems to be enjoying his stay in the planter.
Goodness those buckets are loud. More like hail than rain on the roof. Enjoy your weekend, dear Iris.
Bertiebo, that I do :-)
____
River, sadly no... If Ingo smashes something then for good...
As said, accidents happen, but this would really could´ve easily been avoided... and yes, superloud, but I love it!
____
Dear Elizabeth, yes the King Frog still looks happy :-)
And yes, I love the loud. And it was too funny to see that neighbor checked! That´s the one who tried to forbid we have satellite (cause he can´t get it due to too many houses in the way).
...your summer rain is music to my ears. It is so dry there!!! Enjoy your weekend.
Oh, sorry to hear, Tom. Here it was raining all morning, too...
I have a tin roof so the rain can be quite interesting to hear. As someone else said, the buckets are a different sound.
I am sorry about the Frog accident. (I am sure Ingo is also.) Is there any hope of repair?
I bet Ingo felt bad about the frog king. The new one isn't as cute, but he is still a very nice king. And he works in the pot too. I wonder what he is thinking about missing half of him? Nice drawing, and happy start to your weekend Iris. Hugs-Erika
Oh, the poor Frog King. ๐ฟGood that you were able to repurpose him. Good that you found another Frog King, too. Love the drawing you made.
Gene, yes, it is different. In Perth/Madeley we always have a tin roof - these buckets are the closest I can get....
Ingo did a proper job, no chance or repair.
____
Erika, I think he felt dumb. Because he always tells me blablabla and then is too lazy for ONE movement as in frog to the ground.
The other one lived in the flowerbed for years.
I wonder if Peanut realizes the change!
Yes, to a nice weekend, hugs.
____
CJ, yes.Still sad. The other sat to the right in the flowerbed for years. Luckily.
Thank you, it was fun last year to capture him :-)
Hi Iris, I love this post. Happy art, in the end happy King. OMGosh just like a man to leave. LOL The sound of the rain storm is really magical. We got a very little rain last night. My garden loves that. Our rain fall is down by some 60% so far this year. Thank you for joining FFO and have a lovely day.
I enjoyed the story of the frogs (and the drawing of them) , even thogh it was a bit sad.
The rain was a proper storm wasn't it. I loved listening to it, but I can imagine it was a bit annoying for the neighbour's if they didn't share your love of the sound.
A clever bit of repurposing for King Frog. I like that. Kate x
Nice frog art today!
Your Video shows a pretty rain and an incredible bucket sound. A few dents more and they become "steel drums". (Don`t laugh, you play them already near the Museum in Perth!) listen:

Too bad about the frog king but at least you have a new king to hold walnuts for Peanut.
Long live the King, Lots of luck and good wishes for his successor.
I love the video. The rain hitting the tin reminds me of steel drum music!
oh no, what a shame he wasn't able to fixed, accidents do happen I guess...
Cheese Gone - Classic
Cheers
I've always found thunderstorms relaxing.
I'm sorry about your beloved Frog King, Iris. I'm glad that you haven't given up on him. I love your sense of humor and your unique writing voice. The sound of the rain pinging on your overturned tin-buckets was great fun. We had a wild rain and thunderstorm yesterday evening. I didn't need overturned buckets to enhance the sound. We had pea-sized hail that drummed down for at least ten minutes, the thunder was booming, and the wind howling. The hail was replaced by torrents of rain which caused flooding along the creek beds. It was an exciting evening. Have a good weekend.
Nicole, yes, I still have "half a happy King Frog". Wishing you some rain, today the sun is shining again.
____
Kate, thank you and yes, we near to never have storms like that here!
That neighbor is a pain, so I just gave back a bit of that ;-)
Broken King Frog says x (and me also)
____
Jeanie, yes, that´s most annoying - so easy to put him down before getting to work.
By a man who tells me off too often.
Blogging should be FUN, so don´t worry. My life is not that exciting, either :-)
____
Christine, thank you.
____
Ingo, to be honest, I waited over a minute for the real music to play... nothing... I prefer the buckets.
____
RedPat the "new" one sat in the flower-bed for ages. Now he is the real King.
____
Bill, thank you, I´ll pass it on - Peanut already accepted the new monarch.
____
Spare Parts and Pics, yes, it was wonderful music. Mother nature is very talented!
____
Amy, yes, so sad. What makes me angry is that it was dumbness. Ignorance.
____
Padre, to cheese and cheers!
____
William, same here :-)
____
Fundy Blue, yours sounds plain wonderful (as long as no one and no things got damaged)
To a great weekend!
