Ducks can surf
When you think of mallards, you usually think of a pond in the park. But in California, some of these ducks have joined the locals and are surfing on the beaches of Santa Barbara.
Researchers have observed the birds letting waves carry them onto the beach, where they stuck their beaks into the sand to dig up and eat Pacific sand crabs. The researchers speculated that this behavior could be “a byproduct of adaptation to human-dominated landscapes.”

I know the mural, it was painted in July 2014 by Sydney artist Beastman and Adelaide artist Vans the Omega. Thanks for participating in Monday Murals Iris.
