Hide Them Under The Table

... or Shoe-Fashion Made By Age And Cold

Shortly after 5 am this morning I found my car completedly coated in ice :-(
I know actually it is not allowed, but after some effectless, straining, hurting scratching I turned on the car and the heating, directed onto the windscreen, made scratching a bit easier, was 4 minutes late at work - only! Despite being super-extra careful, driving in -2C with light rain, dangerous condition!

So, after "dancing" around the car in the cold, after sitting in the warm car for 30 minutes and a very short walk through the cold and then 5 floors up... time and weather redesigned my boots, which I wore for the first - and last time this season...

Both shoes, that is.

So I was hectically looking for tape before "that" colleague arrived and rearranged my shoes like this...

And I tried to stay put - who knows how well the "construction" keeps the shoes together...
I showed T what had happened - certainly he laughed.
Yes, that´s why I do IT, not design, huh? ;-)

I asked T, "Can you please make a cuppa tea for me?"

He elegantly said, "sure, youre welcome!"

Awful colleague F looked up! WHAT???

Later, "T, can you please make me another cuppa?"

"At your service :-)"

F: ????? He was literally dying not knowing what is going on!!! We laughed our heads off.

Then, "T, can you please get me my lunch?"

"Love doing that! :-)"

F was like a cock trying to keep his hens together, WHAT IS GOING ON????

When F was on the phone I took my chance - he cannot concentrate on two things.

I had to walk very slow to the loo (tea, huh!) and the tape made loud, rustling sounds on the carpet in the quiet rooms, I had trouble not to laugh about myself, I must´ve looked so stupid!
T was about to ask me if I suffer sore muscles, he said, but then he heard me coming and was reminded of my situation, we laughed silently till our bellies hurt.

I certainly could not resist to ask my T for more tea.

Boy, did we have fun this day!
By the time I left F had forgotten about my mystery  and was deep in his work, whew!

I made it five floors down the stairs, went outside where our cleaning lady had a cigarette before work.
I waved good-bye and was two steps past her when I lost the left heel, we talk about some 5 cm... And realised only one step later, too.
When she saw my shoes from the front as I picked up the heel, she looked astonished and we giggled.

I made it to Braunschweig - pic taken at around 2:20 p.m. btw! -, parked the car and needed some 300 m home.
With the last bit of shoes I made it to the house - am I glad we live ground-floor!

I have another pair of boots with high heels, as old.
I checked with my hands - they broke.
I need new boots...

And a second pair of shoes for staying in the car is ready to go with me tomorrow as well!

What a day...

Can say that for Bro as well. He wanted to clean the windows in his workplace, stepped on the table which flipped and everything went down with more than one big bang - nothing happened to him, but it was the table with the watch-maker-stuff - those things are tiny!
But he said he wanted to clean up and sort out anyways ;-)

Oh dearest Iris! This is crazy! I feel so sorry for you that you have to endure a full day of work with such footwear. Though trust me, I understand why you chose that because when you showed the whole thing, it looks so stylish!!! Sending you hugs dear Iris, praying for no more shoe emergencies for both of us (Yes, I also had my fair share of shoe casualties, mine happened while I was travelling, IMAGINE)

Oh, dearest Stevenson, travelling with that issue sounds even worse!!!!
No, we had fun that day, T, the cleaning lady and I! I think especially the cleaning lady as I was not so elegant loosing that heel, LOL!
