Perth XIII - Grill It Healthy

This could also be a CUBIFA. Heck the week just sped by, I really can´t believe it´s already Friday again!

I started yoga again, hoping it also helps against the tiredness in this grey weather - didn´t, today I feel extra tired and let go of yoga for the day.

Instead I have a look into the clear blue Perth sky, maybe that helps much better ;-)

Perth: On Tuesday we did nothing, but a short trip to "our" little shopping centre to check e-mail.
Whilst waiting for Ingo to be done I saw this:

Hmmm, this in Germany made Euro Peeler may be made in Germany but not used or even sold - never seen that thing!

But back to the blue sky, right?

On Wednesday we started slow, finally took the bus.
This pic nearly makes me laugh, really, cause we come to the exact subject later, I certainly only noticed back in Germany on the small screen on the cam I didn´t see it!

That´s a finger on a smartphone, nothing more!!

Anyhows (keep that in mind) we went by Bus to Warwick, from there by train to Perth, from there via bus to Subi.
We strolled around, got thirsty and by chance found the VIC. The sign outside said they have Sail & Anchor on tab, so we gave it a go.

Look at how they mark the loos, too cute, no?

Boa´s Bind Amber Ale... ahhhh

So yummy!! Refreshed we went back to the train station, and, funny enough, spotted this restaurant (under the clear blue sky), funny coincidence, as you´ll see:

Back in Perth we strolled around some more, I just love the mix of old and new, so much better done than over here....

We hopped on the bus again and with a "thank you!" off here:

At Mark´s office, which is some whopping 13 755 km from our home.

Speaking of our real home, that is ;-)
Men and their toys, right?

We certainly laughed our heads off on this one:

Guess some driver was a tad frustrated here...

Mark.. you probably guess it by now... drove us around in his car (he usually goes to work by bus) and the place to go was... guess?

Yep Grill´d :-)

I have to say: Yep, yummy, thanks so much, Mark, for the invitation (and the driving around, too!)! But sooo much!
As usual Ingo and I shared.

We each had a little pressie. Since my bad sleeping is known even here, also my love for frogs, I got a very cute co-sleeper being a frog (pic to come).
We brought... Amongst real stuff!

Bohner Wachs,

(I was pretty sure I took a pic, but I can´t find it, so this screenshot of mine will have to do...)...
This is just wax you use on wood and in German it has no meaning at all, bohnern is just the way to polish your floor :-)

After that with full bellies we went on a walk through Victoria Park, Mark showed us around in a beautiful area we very likely wouldn´t have found by ourselves.

Just look at this house

The color, the roses they walk underneath every time, the heart at the door, romantic, no?

Or this one:

That old stove outside - it wouldn´t last long like that in Germany, I bet...
Such a nice area.

Shoes, a sofa with a cute pillow - just leave it outside, this is a safe area. Amazing, really.
No wonder, Grace, this city is in the (I "steal" your link to remember it) 10 places to visit in 2014 according to the New York Times!
A huge city, a metropolis and yet a village, reminds me of Braunschweig (certainly just from the principle)!

Beautiful house and tree...

The door...

The alley...

Such a beautiful area, thanks for showing us, guess you don´t find this in any travel-guide-book!
Yay for social networks, right?

On we went to where Mark studied, the Curtin University.
By golly, I have to say: I was impressed!
A huge campus. When I think of mine... oh, forget about that! Practically it was one building, the mensa being at the other complex over 1-2 km away (hence I went only 2-3 times).

So modern, too! Sadly it was dark already, so the only pic I came up with... looks like out of context, but it is beautiful and maybe shows one thing: Mankind always was looking for knowledge:

Just today I read in the news they found prove the Neanderthal buried their dead...
So much for being plain dumbheads! Learning is living, right?

Well, it was another great day and fun to meet someone you know for such a long time online only!

I think you need to change that to Victoria Park as Victoria, being a state on the other side of the country, was a little bit too far to walk to and around. Ha ha. Glad you enjoyed a non-typical bit of touristy stuff. Very happy to show you around.

Mind you, I thought that´s clear to Perthies? I mean... since beaming isn´t invented for real yet... ;-)

You got so many super shots here Iris.. I can't imagine how many photos of Perth you must have from all your visits and how Perth has changed since your first trip oui! Did I tell you that Pat was a professor at Curtin Uni? So what is this Bohner Wachs, a polish?

Oh, yes, Grace, heaps of pics, from 1995, 1999, 2006 and now!
Maybe I manage a post on that, too (when I´m done with the now), good idea!
Well... you pronounce it like boner, it´s just a running gag, kinda, and yes, it´s to polish wooden floors.
You mentioned Pat was a professor, I just not had in mind there! Funny coincidence :-)

Yeah it's Victoria Park, not Victoria hehe.

I used to study and work at Curtin. :)
