My Respect!
When I say so, I do so.
Right? I´m an honest person.
I called Bro Thursday.
That was the intention at least.
Big Niece answered the phone and talked way over an hour with me, and I had to promise to call the next day after she´s done her homework, which she hates.
11:00 am.
Boy, can that girl laugh!!!! A lot.
I don´t think I´m funny, but to her I am, if...
If it´s not about homework ;-)
Next day, phone recharged.
11:02 am, I call.
"Hello!".
Wee One.
She talked and talked and at first I understood near to ... a half only, got better with time.
After a while, "can you hand me over to your Daddy?"
"No!!!"
Her big Sis was "allowed" to talk to me for so long the other day, she wanted that, too!!!
That was after over an hour.
Over an hour with someone you can sometimes but guess what she says.
I finally managed to buy myself free - Daddy could not help! - by promising going with her, and only her - !!! - to have an ice cream.
"Then, 'big Sis' and Daddy are allowed to join us and we have another ice-cream!"
I was then allowed to talk to my Brother shortly and Big Niece demanded to talk to me.
Boooy.
I managed to get a "AT ONCE" to go to her homework, after trying a "yes" for some time, explaining that learning is fun.
Dumb me certainly said, I learn, too, you learn stuff all your life.
Dumb idea to say that, there was some silence, LOL.
But I got my "AT ONCE!", and a smile I think I could hear, too.
Mask, phone, we understand without seeing now, do we.
My respect to parents!!!
Boooy.
It´s a tough job!
But it was also kinda cute.
"'Big Sis' was allowed to talk to you sooo long, I want that, too!"
Oh, kiddo :-)
Certainly talked about "the deal" with Big Niece and she sighed, "yeah, she always needs it her way, OK.".
"Yes, from one big Sis to another, just take it ;-)".
And she took it.
Henry now wants an ice-cream, too...
... and Big Niece did exclaim, "really?! A sweet ice-cream with you?!!!" LOL.
Hope my sweet tooth wakes up in time, and, oh. I was soooo tired after the phone marathon!!

Promise, make debt! LOL
I will also be tired of talking to an adult on the phone for an hour, then with a child ... it's exhausting! Fortunately, Jojo keeps it short on the phone ...
I don't like ice cream ... I don't understand ... why should I eat ice cream?
You see ... Henry ate ice cream and now has a runny nose! He uses Kleenex!
Enjoy your weekend!
A big hug for you! xoxo
P.S. I'm not home yet ... I think I'll return home on Wednesday!
Ich mag nicht gern telefonieren, also halte ich Gespräche meist kurz. Mir sind Videogespräche lieber, aber auch da nicht zu lang! Dir einen schönen und ruhigen Tag, GlG, Valerie
I was tired, Ella, the kids didn´t let go!!! LOL
:-) Henry ... haha, fun pictures in my mind now!
A beautiful weeekend and holiday to you, little BIG hugs, Iris xoxo
. . All I can say is I also have a kid who will turn 7 in coming October. . . You have a Nice Day. . . :)
...my wife can talk on the phone for hours too, I like to keep it short and sweet!
Everyone always gives advice on how we should treasure every moment with small people who want to be engaged with us, because they grow up fast and leave us behind. Every moment can be a lot of time though! How old are the children?
be well... mae at maefood.blogspot.com
It is SO good to be loved by the Littles. This made me smile. What a good aunt you are!
this was fun-and ice cream! I just ordered an ice cream maker but it is back ordered-so everyone must want ice cream haha Happy weekend
Manav once they start, they never stop!!
____
Tom, I´m with you...
Oh that would have been fun Iris. My two are the same when we Skype, they never want it to finish. Have you tried Skyping with them?
Mae, yes, and I did! Treasure, they´re 9 and 4.
Bright lillte brains :-)
But they never stop talking! ;-)
____
Jeanie, yes, it was tough but fun and loveable :-)
____
Grace, nooo, I´d sit all day with them if tried Skype LOL!!!
I don't always talk on the phone, but when I do, I am like Tom, keeping it short and sweet. But, hey, those kids cheered you up and that's what matters.
Oh I can imagine how exhausting that is! I love talks and conversations but I don't know why I am a bit weak doing it through the phone, maybe my hand and ears get tired unlike just talking in real person haha
But when you said you are not funny, oh Iris, trust me you really are! I only get to read your posts and comments but trust me you really can make me laugh out loud at a few times hahaha
It's so cute that you guys had ice cream day! I would love a scoop of Chocolate-Peanut Butter cup ice cream right now!
Happy Weekend Dear Iris and to Ingo too!!!
I would need to take a nap after talking on the phone that long with anybody. :) I want an ice cream too but tonight we are having strawberry smoothies so that will do. Crappy day here more on the way. :(
gigi, i can but agree! :-)
___
Stevenson, I was groggy after the phone call...s...
I am happy I can make you laugh.
I should overthink who I am, maybe?
Oh, th ice cream has to wait till it warms up and we can meet aagain!
Brrrr, it´s cold here! Hot Tea is the choice!
A happy weekend to you, too, hope all is well!
___
Bill!! :-) I had a nap after that indeed!!!
Oh?
I´ll hop over and hope dearly it´s not that crappy I think it might be...
Those sponges are lots of fun. And family phone calls. They are always interesting. Hope you're having a good weekend. Hugs-Erika
I've never seen a sponge like that before.
How sweet that you are so patient with your nieces. That may be why they fight to talk to you. Good going, Iris.
Cute nieces you have, bargaining for ice cream. And of course homework is important. I hate talking on the phone, I need time to formulate answers and I don't get that on the phone. I'm pretty bad at actual conversation. Better if I can write things down.
No ice cream for me until summer now.
Erika, well, I somethimes still would love to have a dishwasher ;-)
A great weekend to you, too, hugs from here :-)
____
Elizabeth, yes that was patience!!! ;-)
But it was sweet, too.
____
River no, I suggested the ice-cream to come free, LOL!
I hated the phone, too, but learned, luckily....
Still I prefer e-mail
The sponges are quite cute.
Goodness the kids already have enough conversation for 1 hour!! That's very sweet and now they will be looking forward to an ice-cream with you.
Little J talks for 5 mins and that is it, then turns his attention to something else...
Sami :-)
"Lucky you"!
I really needed a break after this.
Wee One told me about ALL the tales she´d watched, but needed my help to tell.
The seven...???
Dwarfs...
Right...
And someone kissed her.
The prince...
Right...
But she never gave up, some tough girl!
What a nice Auntie you are! I have had that “understanding only half” with my grandchildren and now great-grands. It’s like talking to someone who does not quite speak the same language.
