Fellow blogger Bertiebo with this made me thinking about how our nearest future will be like.
We - I was at cgs, working for Volkswagen, had a quiz, the winner got, I don´t remember what, but the VW-trainee and I went with our boss´ camera into the FE (Forschung und Entwicklung / Research and Development) to take a pic of the happy winner who really happily went with us. 2002, I guess, that was.
VW-Boss: "WHAT did you do????" He found out online, we were quick. We had to remove that asap!
You are not allowed to take pics at FE!! Or at VW at all!
Also my colleague... I always got my luggage into the office on Fridays for in case he cannot drive me to the train station to get to Ingo in Rhüden for the weekend - my camera was in there of course!
Wow, if they´d ever controlled me - big drama. I left it in my colleague´s car hence.
Even back in the cold war... weren´t there cameras in the spy´s lipsticks and such?
How will you control that?!
2006, Perth. A man standing there by himself, blabbering, hands in his pockets.
I then saw he has earplugs and hopefully talked to someone via an invisible phone.
How will the future be like?
I use my fingerprint for my work-smartphone.
Will we get into our houses by this in the future only and will people hack our fingers off to get in?
Iris-scan, a joke at The Simpsons since years (my Dad sure was a future-boy, giving me this name in the 1970´s).

Pictures taken with invisible devices... I´m a dinosaur. A happy one.
Or.... will we... like what Bertiebo saw... really stop and talk to each other in person, like W and I can do for ... ever, for so long Ingo came out searching for me.
I do hope for the latter and those zombies who are glued to their cellphones, walking really ANNOY me.

We really don't know who is taking pictures out there, no privacy.

Christine, I don´t worry. Cause I do (hopefully) never anything wrong. Take a pic - I don´t care.
People here refuse to pay with credit card, others share their whole shopping-experience for a wee bit off price.
Big Brother will always watch us. Just be nice...
I still own a camera very much like your black one, and use it almost daily.
Your tale from 2006 made me remember my first experience with those earplug/ mobile phones. I saw the owner of a supermarket in town talking to the plant he was watering. I though, "Oh shit, he's gone mad, and he was such a nice, sensible guy!"
I don't do much of all this modern stuff. I own a DumbPhone, you can open it by pressing the * but then you could only use it for calling everybody all over the world (until I find out and lock it) and sending heaps of SMS's using the old T9 system, sure to drive any modern robber raving mad in a short time ;)
I also regularly leave this mobile phone where I am not, making people think I'm ill or worse. I'm not, just not online all the time. I hope I will become smart and modern again in the future, as this is one of my lessons of live: Keep on doing what you do and how you do it. Sooner or later you'll be "in" once again :D
I enjoy time alone very much, but like company too. Still own a camera but never use it anymore.
Did you hear about the guy in Germany who got a terminal diagnosis, so he created an AI version of himself, for his wife! Now that is seriously scary
I take my phone when I go out, but keep it in my pocket or bag, in case I see a nice photo opportunity, or in case there is an accident and someone needs to call an ambulance or police.
Charlotte, you had me laughing here!!!! Watering the plant,oh, I´ve heard plants "feel" when they get talked to, reckon it didn´t know he talked to a person, LOL!!!!
Ingo and I have dumb-phones, too. Because the provider does not accept updates via WiFi only and from €0,35 my bill went up to €40,00 - Got a phone that cannot go online.
It is ME who decides, not the provider! I hope we will be "in" soon again!

River, you made a point with if someone needs help!!! I should take my work-phone with me always, it can do it all, go online, take pics and call 112 or 110! Luckily so far there never was the need to do the latter!
But then ... colleagues can reach me forever (some try after 5 p.m.! They know I start 6 a.m.....)
No colleagues cannot reach you forever, you turn the phone off after 5pm.
