Friday was a scary day!!
It was the 13th, Mom always used to to say this is her lucky day 🍀 and wow, she passed it on to me. My Brother believes they still look over us and this Friday 13th kinda proved him right?
I always get up an hour early to do "stuff" (05:00 a.m.).
Was looking for a tool under the Hollywood-Swing, found oil pastels I never used and as I NEEDED some good vibes .. see here.
Dangerous store, that.
Later I started my work PC and I have three "wise calendars", the good stuff I always give to fK, that day:
"Not everyone who picks up a brush and uses colors is a painter." Gotthold Ephraim Lessing (1729-1781) German critic, poet and philosopher"
Ummmm, OK.
Then...
fK picked me up - super-punctual!!!!
To get legumes at the SoLawi.
As you maybe know fK grew up in former GDR and this is a concept adapted from there: "Community-supported agriculture (CSA model) or cropsharing is a system that connects producers and consumers within the food system closer by allowing the consumer to subscribe to the harvest of a certain farm or group of farms. It is an alternative socioeconomic model of agriculture and food distribution that allows the producer and consumer to share the risks of farming."
I expected a farm. Nope. A little shed with bikes and boxes of legumes.
(kidding, can´t find the comic anymore, I love parsley)
We then drove on to the cinema in Wolfenbüttel and were WAY too early.
So we stayed put in the car, chatting. It is cold, just saying.
The cinema is the cutest!!!!
Our top-teamlead of Railway, mM, paid it all from his private money, we got the whole room to ourselves with movies mM chose, all food and drink on him, too.
fK got a portion for two: Nachos with salsa-sauces. (My - that was yummy).
I was to pick and chose row 2.
For sure fK is a mama. She held the nacho-box till it was empty.
mM went on the stage.
Said, this year we have really difficult times and there is no Christmas-party from the company, but this is our Railway-Christmas-Party.*
Said, we will make it.
And then... Are you a The Simpsons-fan? My thought was "Seymour, leave your body...".
In front of all colleagues (40+) he fixed me and said, "despite the hard times NO ONE is supposed to be afraid. And IF we have to let somebody go, we get him back."
He used the male form for me, too, as we both are fed up with the gender-stuff.
I am not a Diplom-Ingenieurin, but a Diplom-Ingenieur (FH, also).
The movie was "Smallfoot" and for sure not for kids only (family was invited, too).
It is about being brave and be tolerant. As fK´s wife was not there she took my hand. Was a bit odd (it was friendship only).
Then the Döner-place. Again mM paid everything!
I was still full from the nachos and took a small Lahmacun, ... rolled up the Italian way?
fK got her Döner in a sec, mine.... that dude made jokes and it took forever.
Now Döner and stuff is Turkish, right. He spoke (German and) Italian!
I finally joined fK and saw mF sitting by himself and since I finally grew up addressed him.
He smiled big and referred to my wool hat as a monkey. WHAT?! fK: "Yupp, monkey."
No!!
mF got up, told me to get up, moved my chair, sat me down (wow, some gentleman! Never happened to me before!).
There was a mirror.
"Look - monkey!" - he said with a huge smile. Well, I have a monkey ON my head, some have that instead of a brain, huh? Just look at our Smurf-chancellor Scholz...
I sure could not eat all the Lahmacun and wanted to take the rest home and needed a bag.
More Italian-German, more... it took forever... I was nearly getting angry!!!
fK later: "You really didn´t get it, huh?!!!! That man was FLIRTING with you!!!"
No. Didn´t get that... meep.
We went outside to say thanks to mM.
In front of all he hugged me big. Like.. real big. That Harley Davidson boss of mine.
We went to fKs car and... she took my hand.
Life is learning and tolerance. She knows I love Ingo, I know she loves her wife.
IF mM can keep me - I hate cinema and it was way too loud but the place is so cute, the people so nice, next December I´m in again!
And maybe I must learn to see signs of flirting? The Döner-Italian-guy even winked but ...
meep. No clue, me.
I mean, really, I wear Gurri and have a monkey on my head 🐵 🤣 ....
Now THAT is sexy...
Henry 🦁
* there was the BYO-Christmas-Party, though.
To some this might be too boring. If your life is better, post about or just shut up.
Why do people take the time and put on negative comments? Go to bed a tad earlier
#lHomer@last.post. Did hurt. Go red-green.
P.S.On TV NOW!!!
See what I got at the beginning of this year!!!
Did I mention "scary"?
fK says there is more than "that" and now I REALLY do believe her!

Mmm, cabbage, but I would never have parsley just for looking, I eat it too, chopped up in vegetable stir-fry and in soups and scrambled eggs, it is rich in iron so it's good for you and aids the digestion too. Anyway, moving on...I LOVE the Smallfoot movie! I even have my own copy and a movie called The Son of Bigfoot. I love going to the cinema too but don't go very often, most movies eventually come to TV or DVD anyway.
That hat is definitely a monkey and I think it is so cute.
I am glad you had a wonderful time. Does Ingo's company do such things at Christmas?
That parsley-thing is a joke :-)
Of course I love parsley!
Ingo´s company I really do not care about. It is his life, he gives 150% to them and not much to me anymore. I am out.
But I accept my monkey now :-)
Sounds like an eventful and quirky Friday the 13th! I love how you mix personal reflections with everyday moments. The CSA concept sounds interesting, and the cinema experience sounds cozy!
Thank you, yes, it was a CRAZY day.
...Iris, I wish you more happy days in your future!
Thank you, To, I try not to give up....
I'm glad you had a nice Friday the 13th. I like your Hollywood swing. It looks comfy. And I like how you decorated around it too.I see bookshelves-smile. And you are right, why do people have to write anything negative. Why bother to take the time and effort to do that But some people are weird and get their kicks doing that I think. Enjoy the rest of your weekend. hugs-Erika
I love hearing these stories, Iris!
I glad Friday 13th is lucky for you, me too 13 is one of my lucky numbers 😊. Loving your monkey hat and Henry too. Happy wishes! Hugs, Jo x
So nice that your department could have their own party. Sounds like a great bunch of folks you work with. Yes, your hat is a Sock Monkey. Go look it up. Very cute and very lucky.
This sounds the best, Iris. Sorely needed, all that fun, good fellowship, friends and a lot of love and caring for each other. Your hat is a monkey -- I used to have a toy like that, made from a sock! I love that you were flirted with -- and I love even more that you didn't realize it. I think he flirted with you because you were so darned cute in that outfit!
Sounds like you had a great day.
I often nap on the swing these grey days ;-)
Yes, I don´t know why Ingo needed to post that. I don´t force him to read my post!
And I live to tell positive things, RedPat! :-)
Oh, boy, OK, he is a monkey now. Took me 7 years to realize that! 🤣
I am convinced now he´s a monkey, OK 🐵
Yes I SO hope I can stay or come back!!! These guys are amazing.
Monkey-love!!! 7 years I had a monkey on my head and no idea I did, LOL. I´m still a bit.... confused I was flirted at and had no clue. Didn´t I rather look like a kid? I don´t adult much after work....
I sure did! :-)
Love that hat! Such a fun post, Iris, even the guy flirting with you. I was always clueless about that too.
