T STands For Grey Times

The only Christmas-Market I can bring to you so far is this beer, with which I join Elizabeth´s T.
The whole week was grey, grey, grey and cold, I cannot remember how many weeks I have not seen the sun.
I cannot remember any time where it was that grey in a row.
Everything seems grey. Especially economy, or everything.

The journal:

Monday: I am to do a further training that takes 10 months, but I have 3.
fK explained before I did something real dumb.
Very sad: Her son said, "now you cannot send Iris any more pics of Max..."
He is 13. Some teenager, huh? He´s as tall as Ingo btw. Not finished growing taller.
fK never took pics of her old cat Max, but then for me and hence they have some memories visual. We give and take.

Tuesday: Procrastinating-me finally called for help with the taxes and asked back for the name of the lady I had on the phone! She was supernice.
Because "Iris" is a very common name my e-mail-address starts with my second name and hence they have me with that. She said, no worries, that´s just in our portal, phew!
Bought myself two more days!
And could eat!
The tomato-sauce I made was pink - after it cooked - a beautiful red and yummy. Chemistry.
Job-center gave me a number but my teamlead has to do it all for me.
2 problems nearly gone in one day.
So far.
Icky, grey, rainy, though. It that yellow thing from the sky gone for good? 🌞

Wednesday: Our CEO was so positive in the meeting, future looked brighter. And then fE, who said she has a job for me.... reckon I am terminated.
I must clarify but am devastated right now. To lose the colleagues, the trains...
Ingo. Yelled at me cause I could not eat after those horrible news. No one here for a hug.  In good times and in bad. I must´ve misunderstood something.
Other:

Miss the heat (and Cottesloe, the Indiana... for you Fahrenheit-guys, Perth had 104F, we freeze at 35F)

Thursday: At my project former teamlead was on the website, so I asked fL (we know each other in person - I mention this because many a colleague I only know via teams)  if that´s wanted (yes).
She is afraid to lose her job, too, and somehow she asked how old I am.
"52". -  "WHAT????!!!!"
Darn, I just laughed. Should´ve asked what she thought how old I am (she thought much younger). Will ask next time we meet.
Three years ago I still had to show my ID to buy a beer at the grocery (it´s allowed once you hit 16).

Friday: See here, if you like, it was AMAZING. And I might be safe.

Weekend: Saturday: Ingo: "N24 Doku- about Ferris."
(I was so full from the lamachun-piece I stayed in front of my PC and watched.)
....".... blablabla in a round circle...blablabla".
I cringed, got up, ran into Ingo´s room and kinda "yelled": ROUND CIRCLE????? Ingo flipped, too...
(Aren´t circles always round?)
He went to bed before 08 p.m.- reckon the rest.
Sunday: Ingo left me a mess in the kitchen, I cleaned up.
TV: Railway, what else. At least something nice.

Munchy, yum:

The new series:

"These inventions are older than you think

Epidural anesthesia

One of the most important decisions you can make about giving birth is whether to get an epidural anesthesia (PDA) to relieve pain. This local anesthetic procedure has been available for much longer than it has been offered to patients. The first epidural was administered as early as 1853, but due to a number of factors, including the risk of paralysis and harsh church criticism, it was not used in the delivery room until 1943."

 Henry 🦁

 Yum.

Cauliflower is not a legume, nor is cabbage, they are part of the brassica family along with brussels sprouts and broccoli. Legumes are peas and beans, fresh or dried, and I think lentils are legumes too. I do love cauliflower Henry though.
Round circle, ha ha.
I'm going to keep hoping you will keep your job or get a new one.

In German it´s "Gemüse". I call it "yummy" :-)
We have more such stupid sayings. Some say "new renovation" - ACK! Or ".... white horses are called "Schimmel" and some really say "white Schimmel". "In two halves" is another one that drives me nuts....
I really want to keep this job. I got a huge list of what to do for it today! Yippeeee (no irony).

Happy T-Day!

Yes I know what you mean about all the grey, and all this darkness seems like it will go on forever, BUT in a few days it will start getting lighter again and before you know it, spring will be on its way :) I hope you feel happier soon and that your jobis safe. So sad about poor Max, and I love the cauliflower Henry - a brassica not a legume though :) Happy T Day! PS yes when the kittens were little I thought Miss P would be all mother-like towards them but it didn't happen so we live separated like this for eight years now :(

Cauliflower is actually a flower structure (that's what flower is in its name) and that lion is blooming beautiful! And don't reckon anything. Until you're told, you don't know. But I do get how you can feel something coming. Look at it as a chance to explore your options...easier said than done especially with me saying that. My husband got laid off twice. Once it was a surprise (recession, not enough work) and once we knew it was coming (company take over and he didn't fit the new owners profile. But haha, the new oWe are still alive and here to enjoy today. (Which started a bit stressful but will get better.) It was just a muddy stretch in the road. You will still be alive if things don't work out, there is always hope for something better. I don't know how much saying that helps, but we've all been through tough times in one way or another. I hope you have a nice T day. hugs-Erika

You do look young, but I wouldn't complain. It's great to look youthful. So sorry you were terminated, but I know you'll be hired again soon. Good luck!

Yes, that grey by now really sucks! And yes.. soon... light will come! In more than one way.
Max had a good life. H was loved till the end and did not go "alone". But doesn´t Miss P feel lonely?

Iris Flavia said...

LOL, I got it by now with the not-legumes ;-)
Ingo has a job still, we own nthis condo and these days if all sucks there are online mini-jobs. I´d just be sad because the engineering part is so super-interesting and the colleagues are wonderful.
And I am allowed to work from home 100%. I just put out the work PC and still sit in my PJs - who cares? LOL and hugs - and yes, your words helped!

Iris Flavia said...

Maybe, if I am not too dumb I get the new project before termination. I must look positive to that!

Dito, Tom!!!

Ack to the grey and thank you for your positive words and wishes!

A busy week for you. We had a couple of days of rain and grey, foggy skies. Today, the sun is out, but it's getting cold. We're almost halfway through the dark! Only 185 days until the Summer Solstice. Cauliflower Henry is pretty cool. Happy T Day

It's been grey and depressing here for the last week. I wish you some peace and joy. Just add some sun and you'll be all set.

Lisca said...

Henry out of cauliflowers! How cute is that!
I do hope you get a job soon. And one you like, not just any old job. Yes, winters are grey. That is why we left England and here it is cold but at least the sky is blue and the sun shines. I have a stove thhat heats the house, so I'm happy.
Sorry about Max.
I didn't know they had epidurals in 1943. I learn something new all the time.
Happy T-Day,
Lisca

Never heard of an Christmas Beer market.

Iris Flavia said...

Yes, the days soon will get longer, yipeeeee and Friday maybe the yellow thingy will visit!

Iris Flavia said...

To brighter days, Bill, for all of us!

Iris Flavia said...

Yes, that was some Henry-find!
My old job was wonderful, the new project will be technical, too, if all goes well.
I hope for better weather soon. And Max had a good life and he did not have to go alone, his humans were by his side.
To learning!

Iris Flavia said...

It is but a Christmas beer ;-) On the market you find much more than that!

I don't know if she gets lonely, she doesn't seem to like ANY cats - she barely tolerates me haha. I'm hoping she might mellow with this enforced captivity. I bought two cauliflowers yesterday, they were so small I had to buy two to equal the size of a regular one, and they cost 95p each!
