T That Very STressy week

With this astonished orange cup holding Orange Juice I join Elizabeth´s T.
I am on a  seminar in Dortmund right now and might not find the time for anything else...

The journal:

Monday: Study-break, kinda.
Was out reading on the balcony yesterday aka Sunday again... Mossies got me BIG!!!
You fear Australia? Come to Braunschweig...

Oh, and from fK AND Bro I get the most wonderful pics from the ocean!!! Awwww, to sharing the fun!

Her wife is near to deaf and blind, yet they managed to surf!!!

Not allowed to show family so this is but SILs hat...
One can dream, too...  Sand, ocean... holiday....

Tuesday: I admire how people stay calm when they fail in public! We are but people and this man just taught me a lesson. Stayed calm. Got my sympathy. I´d flip like totally and made it much worse...
I will go to get certified! As in... I´ll attend, no idea if I´ll succeed....
And again.... "Love" as greeting. I MUST´ve missed something! And this is a Mrs. Dr.!

Elizabeth asked how I clean the condo with having given away all the cleaning-stuff.
Ingo got a cable-less, all easier to clean and...

SUMMER!! (more or less) > we have real wooden floor > BAREFEET-TIME!!!
Don´t you LOVE the feeling of real wood under your bare feet? BLISS

  Ingo got me a super-watch!!

Yes, that was the date I got the watch... Time RUNS!

Know your  time...

Wednesday: Metadates in Klingon. Lecturer: "oh, need to find German again!"
I am too old for this, really. 08:30 - 12:15 with just one 15-minute break.... 01:00:-4:30 the rest.
And why oh why do people attend who work since ages with this and have to tell how THEY do it - I don´t care! Talk to your chair or whatever!
Sooooo  tired after this tough day.
In rain twice.
I love rain, but... summer? It´s cold!

Thursday: Next Webinar. "Mrs. Teacher, I know something! There is the machine directive (wow, you don´t say!!!) - it demands translations in every language (yah, you know what no one else... AND NO, WRONG!!!!). Does that mean for Ireland we need to translate to Gaelic? (of course NOT, shut up and imagine this: Mostly everybody knows that this is also spoken in Ireland)".
You need to have at least ONE idiot around. And ONE valid language, which, in this case would be English. No idea, if American or British, though, but the customer would tell....
These idiots cost but TIME.

Friday: Very interesting how theory and reality differ in those Webinars.
According to them Tram Frankfurt, built in Barcelona/Spain and the refurbished trains in Norway are rolling illegal. I am illegal as are ALSTOM and DB for hiring me for the jobs.
Police???? Are we all arrested next minute?
Welcome to the real world, Mrs Teacher... That´s how we roll in railway and likely everywhere else...  We just DO!

Weekend: Saturday: Packed and tried to stay calm.
Packed also this:

(In case you don´t know this:
You put your index and middle finger through the eyes, form a fist and the cat´s ears.... KABOOM - hopefully hit the "enemy" where it hurts.
This is but strong  plastic but might buy you some time to flee).

And maybe I pack(ed) some pepper-foam, too...

As small woman on a Sunday night in an area far from real traffic.... I´m afraid.
The hotel really is at the "butt" of Dortmund, but close to where the seminar takes place.
Alas. Wish I was tall. With two strong arms, not that stupid, limping right one.

Sunday: Off to Dortmund. Hopefully fun news next-T-Day on this!
Maybe I met some nice peeps. Likely (writing in the morning) I´ll fall into the hotel-bed after a hopefully very hot shower...

 Munchy:

 The  internet-series:
"33 retro dishes that are rarely served today

 Prawn cocktail

Many years ago, this dish of shellfish swimming in a creamy pink sauce wasn't an ironic retro dish at dinner parties, but rather the pinnacle of culinary refinement. From the 1950s to the 1970s, the prawn cocktail was considered a standard appetizer in upscale restaurants, served appropriately in a fancy cocktail glass."

Skipping...

Henry 🦁

Wish me luck... And yes, I am forced to take a bus as they rebuild the tram-tracks!

Hi dear friend Iris! I love your drawings and that watch is so cool! Orange juice is so good! Your posts and presence always make me smile, thank you so much for being...you. :)

Hopefully the seminar in Dortmund is going well. And you reminded me I haven't had orange juice in a long time. :) Those chairs at the the beach are really interesting. Here you have to bring your own. It fascinating to see how other beaches are, because so many are so different. How long as you in Dortmund for? Happy T day, and hope all is well. hugs-Erika

I'm hoping all goes well with your seminar and that there was no need for your protective devices! The drawings are great and time at the beach sounds wonderful. I love the photo of the hat. Here's to a good week!

I hope the seminar is going well. Oh, Teague and I could use those chairs at the beach! As to protection, you can also use your keys, carry them with one or two poking through your fisted fingers. Another good one is a small, heavy flashlight. In Karate a small, heavy object is called a kubotan. You would strike your opponent in the philtrum, the groove on your upper lip under your nose. In Massachusetts where I live, real kubotans are illegal so that's why the flashlight. If arrested the defense is I was using this flashlight to protect myself. On that note, I hope you're having a good and safe seminar

I remember prawn cocktails, always served on finely chopped lettuce so cold it was almost frozen. We loved them and sometimes bought prawns and jars of cocktail sauce to have at home. Then Hubby discovered hot garlic prawns, not so easy to replicate at home.
I hope the rest of the webinar goes well and you are soon home again.

Dear Linda, oh, thank you for your kind, encouraging words! You made me smile very big! Just what I needed after a 6 hours-trip home!

Boy what a week! Stay safe and sane, if you can.
Shrimp cocktail they called it here, i think. I never liked it, but it is still kinda popular i think.

I hope your seminar is going well and you don't have to use any defense tools.

Love that new watch. I need one to tell me the day, too.

Your orange juice looks refreshing. I think I'll buy some the next time I go to the store.

Failed to Publish is back. GRRRR

The seminar was horror. From A to Y. LOL, those beach chairs weigh in at 70-150kg, you do not bring those anywhere, funny thought! 😂
So glad I´m home and soooooooo tired, hugs to better times.

Iris Flavia said...

Thank you, Kathy. It was horrible, but I am home now. Sending you the still too cold temps to your wonderful lake!

Iris Flavia said...

Thank you, oh, I can´t wait to get to the beach myself!

Iris Flavia said...

My keys are sadly massive and.... round! That would rather be a cuddle 🤣
Good tipp with the lip-thingy. If the man isn´t too tall, I might reach that. I am tired, but home!

Iris Flavia said...

I so hope so, too, Tom! Slept in till 9 today! Totally groggy.

RedPat, it was "igitt"...

You are so lucky liking sea food! In 2006 I had a ... crab Sandwich at the North sea in Husum. Oh. YUCK. I´d rather eat tongue again...

Iris Flavia said...

The sane part was a bit tricky! .... But I´m home and will manage.

Iris Flavia said...

Yes, the watch is a real helper! Oh, blogger, so sorry. But really - copy the text and just try again. 3rd time at least it works over here...
