Wonderful, brilliant Gerbera!
With my ticket for Elizabeth´s T!
The journal:
Monday: Studies are not study-able - found no help, explains why none of my tests were taken care of? So much for being good in time.
Finally 01:30 p.m. Ingo went to the doc, after being in severe back-pain since 2 weeks. And was back in no time. They threw him out!!! "Some doc" fell sick. It´s a clinic.
Managed to finally reach our old doc. Injection, signed sick, Friday included.
Germany, your health system is down.
Tuesday: Ingo´s company called. They need him, they also already promised Ingo´ll be there as no one else can do the job. Without talking to him prior.
OK, only via phone but that means sitting! > severe back pain...
Also... when we´re in Perth for nearly six weeks... what then?
Went to get a missed parcel in the rain 🥰 faaar away. The young Turkish post guy complained: "This is no summer! And we didn´t have a winter, either! Winter without snow is no.Winter!"
Wednesday: Heard nothing from the study-guys. On hold hence.
Took the time to give away some bulky stuff via our ALBA who manage our waste disposal and have a portal for giving away. On the dot two vacuum cleaners and a steam cleaner were picked up and for all other stuff I have people who pick it up soon. Everybody was happy.
One retiree has as e-mail-address "the two of us@...." Isn´t this too cute? He got some of the stuff for his daughter who just starts studying. For the German language rather not common he starts his e-mails with "Dear Mrs K"... and ends with "love" (liebe Grüße).
Later wonderful, strong rain. Sadly too cold for the season still...
Thursday: Got my first Perth-pressie, from Thalia, another bookshop:
For friend G, who is a huge fan. Yes, socks in a book store, don´t ask...
Went to doc... bye-bye pill - bit of a scary thought. After 26 years taking it non-stop...
Studies - no progress, they play dead.
Ingo on the way up.
Friday: 4 days I was stuck, study-wise and this morning... I got x mails to nearly all lessons, partially very long. Means I could not learn from them for the following and partially I can hardly remember what they wanted. I passed all, even the one that I didn´t upload (but have to do it anyways). BIG GAH! She had two jobs, we´ll talk Monday, she, too "Liebe Grüße".... According to the pic she is my age - maybe I missed something?
Certificate-problems to be evaluated next week. Chaos...
One poor fella still waiting for pick-up:
He´s sadly too big for our kitchen and the guy who wanted him delayed and delayed - will put Vodoo-guy back on at ALBA.
Weekend: Saturday: Ingo a bit better. Made green bean salad. WE went shopping cause he can´t carry anything. Bet our former doc´d signed him sick at least(!!!) two weeks.
Going back to work on Monday is no good idea, but will he listen to me, no.
Work is more important than his health or me.
Reading time on balcony, half a thick book, neighbors silently "partying" in the garden next house with romantic light.
Sunday:Slept so bad, dreamed of studies going all wrong. I need but one certificate and since so far I mastered all there was I am positive. Wish me luck one certificate is enough - the other is far hiiiigh up...
Balcony-time, SUMMER IS HERE!
I´m afraid I make wrong decisions, study-wise. Ingo won´t even listen to me, I am on my own.
Broken.
Munchy:
The internet-series:
Cooked oysters
Today, oysters are usually served fresh and in half shells, but in the old school of cooking, they were boiled (and sometimes overcooked) and topped with cream or cheese. This oyster dish, a kind of soup cooked in cream sauce, was very popular in parts of the USA in the first half of the 20th century."
Oh, go away... no oysters for me...

Sorry to read about Ingo being in such pain. I can relate. So sad he's the only person to do the job, but good job security.
Summer may be on hiatus where you live, but I just got a notice of extreme heat warning through Thursday morning. Glad I have AC. You would LOVE it here. Not me.
I can't believe you gave away TWO vacuum cleaners. How are you going to clean your floors?
Too bad I don't live closer. I would take knife guy!
Love those Frida Kahlo socks. What a great gift.
Speaking of gifts, how very thoughtful of Ingo to buy you flowers and a latte, which is great for T this Tuesday, dear Iris. No cooked oysters for me, either. That looks disgusting.
Well, Elizabeth, Ingo got a vacuum cleaner that needs no cable!!! Sadly the pre-owners had the cheapest workers come here to do the kitchen tiles so no cleaner could handle it properly so far and I stumbled oh so often myself. This one does the job!
Job. Hilarious. Ingo´s boss refuses to learn.
Would love to hand the Vodoo-dude over to you!
And I agree, those oysters... ugh....
That was nice of Ingo to think of you, I usually tell B if he wants to get me something then food or coffee are good choices.
Oh Iris... such a horrible week. I'm so sorry for you!!!
Yes, only use-able stuff! :-) Love-able...
Well, especially for Ingo.... but it´s hard to see a loved one suffer...
How lovely of Ingo to get you a latte and gerberas in spite of him feeling so sh... I hope he's feeling a bit better now.
Have you heard from the study guys yet? How frustrating, especially as you have studied so hard.
Great that you have been able to give stuff to other people. But it's a bit rude to not turn up to collect in my opinion.
I love the Frieda Kahlo socks. A great present that doesn't take up much space in your case.
Ah, I just read that you passed everything! Great! Well done!
The knife guy made me smile.
Cooked oysters? Yuck!! I prefer them raw.
I'm glad you have had some sun. (We're having too much).
Happy T-Day,
Lisca
...Iris, I wish you a beautiful even if the weather isn't beautiful.
I love gerberas, but funny, I didn't get any for this year. Hmm. Their colors are amazing. And cooked oysters, I've never heard of this. Must be because it's gone out of style, right? Grin.n Love the Freda Kahlo socks, and I have seen socks in a bookstore before. And in an art supply store too.:) That knife guy is scary. Ouch. Have a great rest of your T day Iris. hugs-Erika
Lovely flowers from Ingo glad he improved -Christine cmlk79.blogspot.com
The poor woman had two jobs and hence, aw, well. She´s nice, I can work it out "on holiday" and am to keep it short 😄
Yes, rude is the correct word! And yes, I love to make pressies you can actually use! Sadly no oysters at all for me, Ingo loves them fresh, though...
Thank you, Tom, weather ... as in sun, comes and goes!
Interesting the book-socks concept is elsewhere to be found too! Nah, the knife-guy is a cutie actually, hugs (maybe not from him! 😉)
Yes to both!!!
Super Bummed For Brother Ingo - Nothing Like Working In Pain - And Nobody Digs Back Pain
Sending Positive Vibes ,
Cheers
Best recovery wishes to Ingo! Love cold coffee!
Yes, not funny. And I am - knock on wood - mostly always healthy... Cheers to that...
Thank you and yes, was yummy!
Busy week. Sounds like your studies are going well. Good that you can put stuff out for others. The voodoo guy is very cool. I'll skip the oysters. Though I enjoy seafood the thought of slurping oysters makes me gag. I hope Ingo feels better soon. Happy T Day
Yes, the weeks fly by, it´s horrible! But, ohhh, all happy. We have but one vacuum cleaner left! (Our condo is small). I´ll make a happy dance end of December, no matter if passed or not... And all oysters for Ingo, I´ll pass!
I always love your journals, Iris. Glad that Ingo is improving a bit.
The flowers are such a lovely gift and Iove those Frida Kahlo socks too 😊. Happy T Day wishes! Hugs, Jo x
Thank you, RedPat, and yes, slow progress is better than none....
Yes, I love Gerbera and I hope the socks will make a smile, too! Hugs x
I'm with Ingo on knife-guy. Not by your door! I hope he takes that letter to work with him and shares with the boss. May or may not do any good but if he's going to go, they need to now the whole story. LOVE those flowers! One day at a time, right?
Hope Ingo feels better. The knife guy is weird, never seen one.
It's so frustrating when studies and health systems just don't cooperate. But hey, at least you got rid of some bulky stuff and found some sunshine on the balcony! Hang in there with those studies – you've got this.

Flowers and a latte, nice!
I would love to have that knife guy!
Poor Ingo. My oldest son is also having back problems. He's 56 but in very good shape, so strange this happened. While he was playing golf! He has a week-long backpacking trip planned soon, so he's trying hard to get his back straightened out. Going to a chiropractor.
Sorry about the classes :/ That has to be stressful.
The Vodoo-knife-guy is actually cute ;-)
The boss is... not from this world... all that counts is money. The flowers have to go today, buhuuuu...
Ingo´s on the way up. The knife-guy lives... lived even in the old apartment already! I have him since 2009!
Thank you, I hope I get through this. Only till end of the year, hahaha...
Sad mil is so expensive these days, other Vodoo-dude´d be on the way! My back hurts often, too - not nearly as bad, luckily - all the best to your Son!
Yes, today another seemingly endless Webinar...
I don't like oysters either. I do love the gerberas, tha Alba teddy and the knife holder. I once thought of buying one, in black or blue, but my kitchen now is too small so I am glad I didn't.
Our city bookstore also sells socks and bags and mugs, lots of other little trinkets too. Keychains and bookmarks.
Hope Ingo manages at work with the back pain, it must be important to go in if he is the only one who can do his job.
Yep, kitchen is too small, same here. But... the quality of the knifes isn´t the best, so you missed nothing....
Yes, hilarious Ingo has no substitute!
Dear Iris, I am sorry for Ingo. Your art is so amazing. I love ❤️ your artistic talent.
Ingo is better, mostly. Oh, talent, Linda? I keep at it, that´s all....
