Went to Schnittchen yesterday as they had egg-bacon on breadroll/bread, NameSis wanted one, too, it´s super-yummy (not so healthy, though)!
When talking to the owner of Schnittchen she refused to offer egg-bacon more frequent as it makes her apartment smell of farts, LOL (she prepares it all at home).
"Cauliflower and eggs smell of farts", she said with an icky face and "say Hi to your colleague!"
Pic above... markets in 1C - there is no wrong weather, just wrong clothing, they say, but eeek, a whole morno outside in this weather, hardly moving?
Tough! But those people do their job even now, that´s their decision.
Later I went to our darn grocery store and had heaps of recycling bottles.
Certainly... 5 to go and...
Wait for a couple of minutes to get this fixed whilst the cash-out line fills up :-(
Here is how it goes, in case you don´t have to do this (really, when being in Perth it kinda hurts to throw such bottles in the garbage bin!).
And here is the whole "monster" that is mostly either full or with heaps and heaps of peeps or with one who collected for a whole month or two!
At the cash-out an elderly man with hearing aid and trolley was in front of me, and my.
His choice of.. consume, his decision made me kinda sad.
He put on:
Two cans of beer, a bottle of rum, a pack of ice cream.
And then added two mini-bottles of Schnapps of the cash out-rack (yes, you get any type of alcohol in the supermarket here).
Poor fella, bet another lonely evening ahead for him and no... I would have no idea how to really help him and maybe he does not want any "help", either.
In (free) newspapers you find announcements of meetings for elderlies and all.
Or is this but a very lame excuse of mine?
My decision that I do not have the power to offer a way out for this man?
Am I a bad person?
I returned to our nice condo and Ingo instead, feeling a bit bad having made this decision.
But offering without being able to fulfill makes no sense to me.

Don't know about helping the elderly guy, it's sad the choice of things in his shopping trolley.
In South Australia you get 10cents return for the bottles. Wish they apply that to the whole of Australia. It's been that way for over 30 years and has now over 90% success rate!

Here it´s from 10 - 25cents per plastic-bottle. But as they crush them anyways it would be better to put them in the yellow bin (plastic) for free.
Oh so often you just spend so much time with this, it´s annoying.
The thing is the idea you formed in your head about the old man could be quite different to the reality, it's possible he has a partner at home who likes a drink.. I send P out for ice cream regularly 😀 Sooo cold over there Iris, perfect here at the moment but looks as if it might be a hot Christmas!

But those two bottles of Schnapps... aw, well - I very gladly embrace your idea and feel better, thank you :-)
