Just yesterday I saw a (German) docu on a guy, only 22 years old, a master butcher already, working with his Dad, his Dad, Mom.... in 4th generation,being happily at work with his fiance at 4:20 am every working day!
Before the kids were born there was time for me, and what did my Bro bake for Christmas?!

I can have tuna (tastes like nothing), or fish-fingers (same). That is it! I tried fish & chips twice (in Perth and Freo). Ingo had to eat it up.

Whilst I type the ravens have another argument (?) after the Magpies woke me up with their sweet chatter. I will miss this!!! Yesterday night the Kookaburras laughed along, telling us this is THEIR place. A nice way to let you know....

I see nothing wrong with Salmon for Christmas. In our hot weather light foods are better than heavier ones, though many people still do the traditional turkey and roasted vegetables, with gravy and then the plum pudding and custard after. I don't do anything special for Christmas dinner anymore.
When you get home you can hear magpies and kookaburras on youtube if you want, then you won't miss them so much.
The problem is I do not like fish,but geez in your Christmas-temps I'd have a salad!
We don't do anything special for Christmas, either. It's a forced holiday,that is all! Icky weather, too.
Youtube will be my hero! But I'll miss the real ones.

Oh I love fish. But everyone has their own tastes. And luckily, my hubby who wouldn't ever eat fish before, eats certain fish now. Smile.
...I hope that they have fish that aren't just bones!
I love fish but Larry doew not at all he loves fried catfish though and I found a really good recipe for making that. He loves to go fishing though-and puts most back

I love seafood. It's always better when it's fresh. 🐟🐠🐡🦈 Maybe you could record the birds in the morning so you will have it as a memory until you return to OZ?
I like fish and all seafood, but my hubby is allergic to shellfish so I don't get to have that very often. Our neighbor dropped off a dozen trout Sunday. What a treat!
I hope your plan for a return visit works out. You enjoy it so much down there. But when are you coming to the States?
I love fish and usually order it if I go out to a restaurant. Sometimes it needs a nice sauce on it to add flavour.
