Did You Know .... Forrest Gump

I indeed never noticed the different   colorization per decade - did you?

And Lt. Dan...

As we saw this movie in the world´s oldest open air cinema, Sunpictures in Broome, Western Australia...

Ahhh, it was wonderful how the kitsch-night-sky really blended into the  real sky, I´ll never forget that!

It is an open air cinema with chairs you practically lie in, RedPat, ,it´s wonderful!

Those crocodiles look scary! Most of the drive-in movies here have close down. Take care, have a wonderful day!

It´s no drive in, Eileen, with chairs to sot in, it´s open air. Yes, they look scary, but they are rather boring

I watched the first clip but not the second, I wonder now about that iconic bench where Forrest Gump sat, they moved it to a museum, but why not build a replica and put it in the same spot for people to sit on and remember?
I knew the wartime parts weren't actually in Vietnam but I thought it was from a rainforest area like somewhere in Brazil or part of the Amazon river.
Tom Hanks was very smart to make the deal for the profits.

Crocs looking hungry!

Yes!

I love it!

I agree, why not a replica to feel the movie a bit!
I loved that Hanks learned the boy´s dialect instead of as planned vise versa.
In the second Sinise tells how he learned the role from his BILs and that he has a Lt Dan-music band to support real veterans. He really invests time into the support.
One of his BIL´s came home from Vietnam and got spit at, how cruel... (also I like his voice).
