Corinna, Oh, You

I got up early again on Thursday, and went to the hardware-store, a 20 minutes walk.
Some idiot put the trolley into the one in front - these days you don´t do that, they are free and only a certain number, too.

I had no coin.

The staff-member who has to do "security" saw me and helped me out :-)

No normal trolley/shopping cart, though, one for panels and stuff.
I said, Thank you, bingo I need a can only...

We chatted for say... 15 minutes, Martin and I.
He said in two hours you have a queue of 40 people here. Women might get grumpy, but the real problem is the men, especially when either with a woman or in a "group", they have to play the hero.
We ended up at the casual "du" and I think we both helped each other to a little more fun in life.
He also said, and I agree, it´s home-made panic with those trolleys.

Though!!!
I am thankful it makes people stay off my neck!!!

Some people are dumb.
They put cans all over the place, I needed white, but... also the producers are dumb. All hints on how to, but no indication on the color! Just the caps! How can that be?!
People take a cap from one can to another just for fun!
This is another type, of course, and I knew what I get :-)

I´d seen a staff-member in the other aisle and went. A woman was in line before me.
Over th speaker: "Keep a distance of two metres, keep your masks on ... " - check - "... stay with your trolley."
Uh-oh!

But. If I leave to get "my" trolley, someone else gets in line before me, so I stayed put.
That lady needed a lot of carpet, it took at least 15 minutes, then the nice man went with me to the color-stuff and... "my" trolley was gone!!!

They had the announcement three more times with distance, masks and trolley and I said, "ups, am I in trouble now?"

Martin was nearby, why ever, and helped out again, plus! He gave me a better product to use, too.

He went to the cash-out with me, my, I felt like a kid!

He is my age, maybe Ingo´s, just so you get an idea.

I stayed put whilst he ran outside to get me another trolley.
Meanwhile a female staff-member angrily asked me where my trolley is?!!!!

It´s a nut-house!

MOST people are nice in this crisis.

Most.
Martin also said, "Hmmm, if you get some cans, I´m not sure. Some people buy nearly all the stuff available as if we wait for another world war!"

So. Now I´ll fix some things here in the condo, thanks to Martin I have the right stuff! :-)

I also got "gold" to make my desk look better, let´s see...

Lion of the day:

Let´s fix stuff up!

We have the same type of people here. Most are nci but everyone now and again you get someone who feels they can get too close or not wear a mask and get too close just because they have a right to do that. Hey, I don't like the space and wearing the mask either but what can you do. Sorry it was a madhouse but hope you made it home OK and didn't have to deal with anyone else on the way home. Hugs-Erika

Some home renovations on the way, how nice Iris.
Here our Bunnings (hardware warehouse) is as popular as ever, with lots of people using their home time to do small renovation projects at home.

Gosh how nice Martin was Iris, it's so easy to be helpful and kind, I wish more people would do likewise. It really has been so much better here, we haven't had to wear masks, although a few do by choice. We do the safe distancing in shops but in Woolworths as long as you keep to your space it doesn't feel all that different. Of course there is plenty of hand washing going on 😊 Going back now to read about what you've been up to while I was without my computer. Take care you two xox

I haven't been to a store in so long I've forgotten what it would be like to be in a crowd. It sounds a little chaotic but I'm glad you found a knight in shining armor to help you through the store.

Oh, Erika, I reckon heaps are so dumb theyhave to test their boundaries... Sad, dumb people...
But mist are niced!! :-)

Sami, I know Bunnings :-)
We walked in the scorching heat there to get a TV antennae 2015.
Yes, now that people have time on their hands...

____

You´re back, Grace, yay! xox!
Yes, the masks are a pain, but the distance is heaven!

____

Jeanie, oh, so sad I will not recognise my knight thanks to the mask!
Sweet thought! A knight!!!

Bunnings warehouse? What else! An ideal place to buy TV antennas. Last time it was a little bit easyer, I started walking early in the morning.

Oh dear Iris, the hardware store sounds like chaos to me! But what makes it bearable are angels just like Martin. It's very touching for me to be able to be attended by salespeople who clearly loves and gives importance to their work. Oh and I can't help but shake my hand on that spray paints that do not have labels and just the can caps! OMG! That would have been so bad if you get a wrong color! That's also the case here especially some local brands who only makes differences by the cap but luckily there's a very small sticker that says what color it is, but if you don't look closely and just rely to the cap's color, you might get tricked HAHA.

Happy Sunday Iris and Thank you so much for your wishes on my schoolwork, I was able to complete my requirements for one subject today so Yay! 6 more papers to write tomorrow, hopefully I can finish them all :)

Everyday activities have really become frustrating in this global emergency. I'm not going out at all, and I try to be considerate of the people who are helping us get food. Anything else just has to wait unless it's a matter of desperation. We dreamed up a DIY project but it's on hold, no lumber, no tools.

That's an especially nice lion today.

Now you know why I'm not leaving my property. I wear my gloves at all times but seldom wear my mask. I DID wear a mask today when I mowed my front lawn. But I took it off to mow my back lawn. Sorry your trip to the hardware store was so traumatizing. I am lucky, I guess. People walk by and wave. Everyone seems to have a feeling of kindness about them. Of course, that's at my home, not out and about. Hope your day turned golden when you got home, dear.

I am finding travelling and shopping to be an amazingly good experience. The roads have very light traffic, public transport is just about empty and frequently cleaned. The shops have no queues at the checkout, there is lots of space for people to move around and the shop assistants so happy and smiling. I did do home delivery for grocery shopping this week and "click and collect" for some things at Bunnings - I think lots of others are doing the same so the shops don't have a lot of people in them. We don't have to wear masks but my husband's eye specialist asks for their patients to put one on - sensible since they would be peering close to people's faces.

I don't know how your carts work but with ours, if I forget a coin, I use the back of my key. It fits nicely into the coin slot.

I hope things get better for you soon Iris. This is a hard time for everybody.

Happy Whisk, now that is clever, nah, not over here!
