They Have Plain Everything (But Clothes) - How Buzz Came Into Our Lives
... at least I haven´t seen any clothes. We went to Thomas Philipps today. We do this once in a while and by golly, the prices are really low.
I did not buy that very cool Pizza-cutter, I only took a pic - I´m good, right?
What we got was an apple corer - for €1,50. Yesterday I had a look at real,- and they want €6 for it!
Ingo wants to make roast apple for my Indian colleague V, since the German word for it is a password for one our test-users and V did not know what roast apple is.
Obama is everywhere, I guess - (Yes) I can...
Again, just a pic. What I got was a Buzz Lightyear-cup for my Bro. He told me his is broken - and there I found one for €1!
13 years ago his then-girlfriend had again broken up with him and I had been searching for a job for so long without success, we needed a bit of fun. He came over and took me to the cinema in Goslar - Toy Story it was.
A while later he went to Maccas, again and again until he got Buzz Lightyear in the kid´s menu. He gave him to me with the words, "he is to bring you luck in finding a job" - and a few months later I signed at cgs.
I certainly have a Buzz Lightyear cuppa there, I bought two and gave Bro one.
This Buzz still works btw, he still makes sounds!
Haha, we should´ve bought this camping toilet and put it on the balcony. Maybe the trainee who did not find the toilet after having seen every room Thursday would run into that joke ;-)
For some €0,49 I got my soon sadly ex-teamleader some patches for the next soccer-games against other countries:
What I find kinda... shocking... This doll is on a stepper! Shouldn´t kids be just kids? Do they have to think about their fitness and health that early, really?
Not only that we also saw eau de toilette for kids!
Ingo had to try it, what else... Even after washing the spot several times - it certainly smells terrible - he can´t get it off!
Schnapps from the Alps - with a stupid hat on...
Germany has something like bottle-shops, too - you get all kinds of beverages there. Alcohol can be sold in any grocery store. In case you wondered.
And so you find also huge cans of beer here:
Oh, sorry, no, that was not huge, that was only big, huge is this, 5l:
Speaking of.... they also have refrigerated food, like this mega-sausage:
And yes, we bought food there. After my Bro, as Ingo, came in his last e-mail where I´d told him about the loo-seeking trainee - NEIN - DOCH - OHHHH - here is the original, French version of Louis de Funés' NO! SI! OHHHH! (go right to the middle-section for it).. to which I said, I just had a DVD-package in my hand at real,- yesterday, but my French is not good enough anymore, he said he´s got it. Also "Cabbage Soup". He invited me to watch it with Niece - bet she laughs her head off, so this was a must:
He thinks she´s a tad too young aged 4, so maybe we end up having to eat it ourselves. Oh, my, what the magic might be - we´ll find out eventually! ;-)
Magic, btw - we did buy this, so practical!
Guess you have this since ages, we saw it for the first time:
If I´d like chocolate, I probably´d taken a Niklas:
I could not resist this, though, and yes, I know Christmas is over - post on that maybe to come...
A plant will be bought for it when we´re back from Perth.
As said, they have (nearly) plain everything for really low prices, and cool stuff, too.
Now you might think they don´t pay their staff well to keep the prices that low? I don´t think so - they were motivated and super-friendly. Guess we go there more often.
Even if it´s just if we buy with the camera - it was fun!
And Bro soon has a Buzz again :-)

Some cool and cheap stuff indeed!
My daughter in law has one of those strainers, as she says it saves space in the drawers.
I thought so, long known in your place, that thing ;-)
Niklas looks HOT! And those strainers are also good for travelling!
Guess not a good idea to send Niklas over to you, right? Would probably be just a chocolate ball ;-)
Right, also good for travelling, those strainers - actually I can´t recall how Ingo made noodles and such in the Outback anymore, did we have a strainer?
