We Did Not Dare
Mondays… we´re usually off to the city, but yesterday Ingo said no. Not due to the cold.
10 000 people were out and about against 450 Pegida-protestants, we learned today.
10 000, really? I thought there were some but that´s a bunch I did not expect – and I do not agree, either.
In Dresden any form of protest was forbidden yesterday.
This blog sure is no political place, but mind you… Forbidden to go out and say what you think? Like… really?
I am a tolerant person.
As said in a post before, if it does not hurt me what others do, do. Go ahead.
But may I say it hurts my feelings, or rather, it makes me feel insecure when you get killed for making a serious joke aka satire?
It does not really hurt me but maybe Ingo if we have to wait for food on a Christmas party because my Muslim colleague and his wife need a special meal without pork and the place has no kitchen – Ingo, by health reasons, has to eat on time.
And Christmas… ummm, well. That´s not a Muslim… aw well.
And when later said colleague complains the subject – announced with invitation (sic) – was too insinuating for his liking, I´m really fed up.
If he´s that ignorant he should google “Casanova” before going. Ok, that´s some years ago now, still, the subject has not changed.
He works for this company at least 8 years and his German is still so bad I hardly understand him.
But… we are so tolerant, right?
So tolerant we stay home simply.
We do not dare to wear a summer dress in summer, either. That is my Nieces´ future? It is my present, if I let them win.
I am sorry for getting on the soapbox, but 10 000, that really shocks me.
I am tolerant, but… start talking to the people, do!
They say they will not go onto the street with Pegida – we don´t either -, but their arguments do have hand and feet in most parts (uh, that sounds alien-like, huh? ;-)…)
I really wonder. If it wasn´t religion they use, what else would it be?
Is it all about making women small?
Maybe now I am the ignorant.
But I don´t wanna go deeper into it. They can offer the koran for free in the city as long as they like, they do not seem to care no one is interested, either.
My understanding for how people should live together is simple and is not theirs: Respect for each other.

I had to google what Pegida was, as I hadn't heard of it.
I agree with you Iris, the Western countries seem to change things to conform to Muslim tastes, but unfortunately in their country they want us, the Westerners to conform to their ways too, and don't give us the freedom to be who we are! Mosques get built in every Western country, but I'm quite sure they wouldn't allow a Christian church to be built in their country! I say, live and let live!!
Sorry, right, I linked Pegida. And yes, try to build a Christian church in their country.... all they do is demand, demand, demand... and they get, Braunschweig has 7 mosques (I had to google this)! Seven!
I agree with Sami. I think the nature of the religion of Islam is that they don't 'fit in'. If they are the majority in a country, they will try to make it an Islamic state...there is no government/religion divide for them, Islam IS the government.
And such a cruel one, I fail to understand why a God would want men treating women that bad...
