Nothing Like It

Back to Elizabeth Quay, shall we?

Sometimes we all have to go, right?
Here in Braunschweig you always need money. If there are many women you have to wait.
Oh so often I decided to go home instead - Braunschweig, your loss, I will not buy that book or anything else, I go home!

I was surprised and pleased to find this in Perth:

This is not only clever, this is for free!!!
Also in braille, though... how does a blind person get the status?

... what if there is a power breakdown, does the door open automatically?!

Also not so sure about seeing that:

Do you prevent others from accidentially grabbing into a thrown away, used, syringe or do you encourage drug use?

Either way, a Perth friend kept saying Germany is so advanced - I sadly can only laugh bitterly about that - we are not.
Also have a look here:

This bin is solar powered and can compact up to five times more waste than a regular one.
You will not find this here!

It´s not only the city and it´s people that I miss...

It´s the clever inventions and...

.. it´s beauty and hot weather, too (what a crap summer we have this year! I´m wearing long PJs at night and a sweater at daytime!)

So sorry you're having terrible weather Iris.
I've seen many of those smart bins around Perth and also Sydney.

Today is a little warmer, Sami, 24C. But still too cold for July!
Reckon it´ll take arounf 10 years before we get such bins, and that´s not even irony...

That's a good question about what happens to the automatic when the power goes down.

Bummer about your weather. We're getting the super-hot now. I think our summer schedules are all turned about here and we are getting what you had a month or so ago.

It makes sense to me to have sharps disposal sites like that.

Jeanie, that´s great, yay for summer! It´s getting a bit warmer here, too, 75F tops today (but the condo is still cold).

William, I guess so. I just hope it doesn´t bring kids on the wrong way.

Sorry you're having terrible weather Iris.
In my part of the UK it hasn't been too bad, although the weather forecasters still talk of heavy rain, and I know some parts of the UK have experienced this.
Guess we just have to make the best of whatever comes …

All the best Jan

Solar trash never heard of one and Now for the bathroom deal, it sure would be an issue if you were new to area and you had to real go.
State of Oregon has place for needles and I have never seen trash laying around.
Coffee is on

Jan, well, it warmed up a little (24C), but, wee, a crap summer!
But you are right, we make the best of it, at least the days are long!

Dora, you don´t see trash around?!
Wow, here you have loads of it, sadly...

I haven't seen any of those smart bins. Better to have sharps disposal locations than needles lying around the place. I have heard those automatic toilets open if you stay in their too long.
