The Good In The Bad

See... my SD card died.

My cam still can read it but my PC does not, nor the Lenovo-Laptop or Ingo´s PC.
Crazy.

Ingo found an old SD card, asked me to check if I find something useful on it.

This was pre 2011, our old apartment, Ingo presented me with Fahrenheit. Just a couple of days ago I had to throw it away, the scent was gone, sadly...

And from that ID card is where my new profile pic is from.
When I´m not aware someone takes a pic of me, I look normal (and I haven´t changed much, it seems, post to come on Tuesday)!

Found some long forgottgen treasues there.

And I certainly do NOT refer to myself, but certainly to these:

See everything bad sometimes finds something good :-)

Oh, do I miss the times pre-bifocals!!! I had the most fanciest glasses!
Not possible no more.

The "cute" blue ones are my reading glasses, no bifocals.

In case you wonder why I have so many glasses...

a) my eyesight changed, and not for the better!
b) my Brother is a weirdo (Optometrist).

The white ones are my PC-glasses, the ugly ones I use for sport, the rest is spare. The green ones again are my favs.
No. I am not allowed to pay, either.

And the 70´s style would come in handy right now ;-)

Btw. To those of you who liked last post...

The 70s were wild times, this is my Dad with "the boys" having fun, playing theatre...

And here you see him at work:

Tedox opens up again today, we´re soon off to buy fabric.
Ingo has to take two weeks off of work and wants to sew masks.

Lion of the day:

Ingo test-wearing the Braunschweig-Lion bib I got for my Big Niece back then :-)

Viele Erinnerungen heute. Schöne Brillen. Ich hab auch noch viele ältere Modelle, manche hat Nathalie kassiert weil sie wieder 'hip' sind....Dir einen schönen Tag, GlG, Valerie

Bei den alten Brillen bricht das Plastik schon!

You have a real collection of glasses … some of them are 'hip' again! Do not throw away. Many memories today. Your father was really funny ... I understand why you miss him so much.
The cars are also beautiful ... I miss the "good old days"! I was very young when these cars were "in vogue"!
Here is a lot of sun and the worm is on the way, tomorrow will be 19 grade.
Enjoy your weekend!
A little Big hug for you! xoxo

More than 20 years ago, 1999 Australia, we had a Golden Beauty in form of a Nissan Patrol. Same color, same strongness but only 15-20 years old. This color seems made for Australia! ( No dirt for a half year, at all ;-)

Ella, I cannot throw the glasses away, silly me! I can not see with them anymore properly.
And yes, Dad was funny sometimes, when he was young.
Those cars, awww.... That is what I am "afraid" of. When Cuba opens up, those cars likely will be sold.
Warm and sunny here, too! To a great weekend, a little Big hug for yoz! xoxo

Ingo, no one saw us, standing in a side road! :-) And the "red dirt" was invisible, too!

Wonderful assortment of photos from the past. Sometimes it's nice to go down memory lane like that.

Iris Flavia said...

Yes, just sad about the SD-Card ;-)

Oh my gosh if I had to put together the different glasses I've had over the years it would be hilarious, I've had some insane styles, which of course at the time I thought were faaaaabulous 😀 How different your dad looks when young having fun, to the serious dad at work 😉

I remember seeing cars like those in the streets when I was growing up. Glasses and all the different styles are interesting to see. The old computer is interesting and probaby really slow compared to today's versions.
Enjoy the day and stay safe!

I love the new old profile pic! Photos like that are so real, you feel the person is right there. And I loved your lion of the day and the photos of your dad, too. That yellow and white car from Cuba is a gem. What fun to find the old card and rediscover these photos!

Bill, those cars are beautiful, aren´t they! I sure was/am spoiled with glasses, I know, and I appreciate, too. And I remember the old computer-times, too! Sunny day here, hope yours is, also, enjoy!

Jeanie, yes to all :-)
I might have a wrinkle here and there that added, but all in all... no change :-)
And I sure am thankful for that! I can still hop around!

I don't know how you manage to keep track of all your glasses - I have trouble finding my one pair!
By the way, your husband is very good looking, and that is a nice photo of him :)
Enjoy your day Mxx

Iris Flavia said...

As soon as you can´t see the glasses are old, easy ;-)

Old glasses seem to come back into style but with a difference so they don't seem right. I love your old ones!

It is fantastic to see these found photos. Cuba? I would love to visit CUba but the way things are now in the US (well before the virus days) you have to take a tour, and these tours are expensive. Maybe it will change one day and I can go. And love your glasses. I have a collection also. One of my pairs broke last week. But luckily I have others. Hope you are staying well and enjoying your weekend. Hugs-Erika

Even your current glasses are way more interesting than mine.

Iris Flavia said...

RedPat, yes, they were so cool! Useless now...

Erika, that is one of the few things I´m glad being German. I can go to Cuba ... could!... when- and wherever we wanted to.
Glasses... Bro! :-)

____

Elizabeth, you should visit my Brother then :-)

I knew I was late visiting, but this is ridiculous. You have a lot of glasses. I've somehow misplaced mine (ONE set I've only worn once) and I need them when I take my driving test.

Loved seeing your dad. He must have been fun to be around. Now I see where your new icon came from. LOVE those old cars in Cuba.

I want to make some masks, too. I bet Ingo will make better ones than mine. LOVE your baby lion of the day.

Iris Flavia said...

It IS ridiculous... but often the glasses I get he cannot sale and the "glasses" themselves - he states (maybe he lies) - are cheap. I think he lies.

Masks... how long will it go on?
