Children In Charge

Sweets from InnoTrans 2022 Berlin.

Here is the translation of the song by Herbert Grönemeyer, "Kinder an die Macht":

"The armies from gummy bears
The tanks from marzipan
Wars are eaten up
Simple plan
Childlike genius

There is no good
There is no evil
There is no black
There is no white
There are gaps between teeth
Instead of suppressing
There's strawberry ice cream for life
Always a surprise

Put the kids in charge
They don't calculate
What they do
The world belongs in children's hands
Put an end to gloom
We'll be laughed into the ground
Children to power.
They are the true anarchists
They love chaos and clean up
Know no rights
No duties
Still unbowed power
Massive
Impetuous pride" ...

Henry 🦁´s kids:

Well, the song is from 1986 - maybe today´s kids should not rule?
Most are slaves of "wrong media"... But back then it was a good idea. To (good!) kids!
Yes, two posts again.

Kids ruling the world seems to be a common theme in the 80s. Gummy bears are chewy (grin).

I've seen too many kids out of control on streets and in the schools here (they are on the news) I wouldn't want to put any of them in charge of anything. It seems none of them learn proper behaviour at home from day one anymore. We were raised to be respectful and polite and to not want everything we saw, my own kids the same, why aren't "today's" kids learning from their parents?
I can't eat gummy sweets, they rip the fillings out of my teeth, or the teeth break and have to be removed.

Cloudia, oh, yes, we have a chain Gummibärenland - you get any kind of gummy bears there. A very dangerous shop!

These are from the company I work for :-)

Elizabeth, in the 80´s it might´ve been a good idea, not now.... to gummy bears!

River I SO agree about today´s kids! Sad. Ours also were on the news. Double-sad.
Big Niece is polite, wee one lies. And I have no idea how to cope with that. Bro just accepts it, it seems.
Last time it was gummy bears I brought, btw. He said we all share and she just secretly munched them down.
If I would´ve done that as a kid... I would not have been able to sit for a while...
The more so I am surprised my brother, as you say, does not raise them like we were.
Yes, Ingo has the same problem and visits the dentist often.
I promised I´ll go, too, in January, still didn´t. I´m afraid of her- what if she finds something, ahhhhh...
